Thanks! Yeah…I agree Val and I have a very similar approach. It was the main reason we have decided to tell our communities about each other:) I am so happy you like both of our channels😍

I came over from Val's channel and subscribed because I'm thrilled to find a capsule wardrobe stylist who has a life style like me: working from home and looking after small children. All those fancy city life capsules are beautiful but don't work for me! And you sound very sensible and down to earth. Looking forward to exploring your content!

Thank you for your lovely comment😍 Hope you will enjoy the rest of my content! Before I became a mom I also had a city life capsule but learnt it was mostly useless once my life changed:) Now I mainly have casual comfy clothes👌🏻 Welcome to my channel😘

New subscriber here, hello Violetta! I love all your videos and I'm learning a lot! With classic pieces, we can always store away the items we perhaps regret buying until a time we might enjoy them again. Our tastes change as we get older. I wish I had kept my blazers, as I would wear them again now. 😉
@ViolettaGenova

Thank you for your kind comment❤️ Sometimes it makes sense to store items. But most times if the are were in your closet for longer than 2 year without seeing a light - chances are you will wear it again. Classic items tho always on point and timeless💫

Oh my, you are precious! The advice about blazer came exhactly when i needed to clarify my mind about it. I do have a black blazer in my wardrobe, that i don't wear, but i was considering nontheless to buy a camel one too, because i thought it might be a color problem. Now I'll seriously reconsider, and take AAAAALLLL the time in the world to see if i really need it 😁 Same goes about the "have more elegant/dressier/special occasions outfits", i was going exhactly the same way towards buying pleated skirts and shirts 😅😅😅 Thank you 🥰
@ViolettaGenova
@ViolettaGenova 2 года назад
Yeah I believe it is a simple society pressure to look more feminine: curly hair, dressier clothes, dresses etc. Why should I force myself to wear blouses if I love jeans and sweaters and sneakers and backpacks:) it is kinda the same pressure as to be skinny🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

I think bottoms are harder for most women to fit, especially jeans and other woven-fabric pants, even with some stretch. There are many points that have to fit: waist, hips, thighs, length and rise. I think that’s one reason I love skirts, if the waist fits, it works, because my hips are narrow. The other reason is that skirts don’t fight back, aren’t thick, or fall down when I walk or ride up when I sit. So many of us wear mostly knit tops, like t-shirts, the fit is much more forgiving in knits. The only pants I like are stretchy knit ones, or fluid, looser ones, like my beloved silk joggers.
@ViolettaGenova
@ViolettaGenova 2 года назад
Totally agree with you!! skirts are easier to buy especially a flowy type of skirts. However I still prefer pants or jeans simply cause I have thigh chasing problem so skirts and dresses require more work on my side. I get you that buying pants or jeans are harder and takes more time and effort but they work better for one type of ppl and not so well for other type:) I wish I could easily wear skirts and dresses during warm seasons 🙂

1. More bottoms more outfits 2. Quality over quantity - No rush in blazers, jackets etc. 3. Basics 4. Dress for your lifestyle 5. Understanding your body and skin complexion

Hi Violetta. New subscriber. Glad you mentioned cool and warm tones regarding skin and hair coloring. The brown top you are wearing complements your skin tone, but isn't enough contrast to your hair, it sort of blends in. I look great in dark green and teal, but my very dark hair doesn't show up against those colors. You could pull your hair into a bun or ponytail or wear a scarf to get around that. I now buy tops in light olive or aqua instead. The olive looks good with my green eyes, too. If you look at how you look in the white tops versus the brown ones, you will see what I mean. TFS. Happy New Year.

Welcome to my channel:) I think I understand what you mean. I am a low/mid contrast so I always try to keep my outfits low/mid contrast so the outfit does not outplay my appearance. Thank you for your comment and your feedback! It is always interesting to know what you guys think about my style😘😘

Hello from Montana USA! Came over from Val's channel and will be subscribing to yours because I'm only 2 minutes in and I can already relate, and I have never heard anyone else talk about how important bottoms are! I am in that place right now where I have a few bottoms and a lot of tops for the reasons you mentioned, and will be working on that, LOL even though it's frustrating 🤣
@ViolettaGenova
@ViolettaGenova 2 года назад
Welcome to my channel:) Glad you liked my video too:) Ugh finding bottoms is hard so I understand your frustration. Make sure you choose versatile simple styles so you can easily style new bottoms with all your existing tops: think about black/grey/brown pants, classic straight jeans or plane design skirts:) Orrr if your body allows maybe black leather pants or culottes😍 I wish I could wear culottes😂 and also I have found that a bit more expensive brands carry better cuts and styles for “not model type bodies”. I personally like stores like Aritzia (Citizen of humanity and Denim Forum for jeans), Everlane and Arket for jeans and pants:)

This video was helpful, thank you! I think the colours you've chosen for your wardrobe suit you-- for example the brown sweater complements your complexion nicely. The one thing I noticed by your comment that you gain weight on your hips is that it seems to be true. If so, that makes you pear-shaped vs. hourglass.... True hour glass shapes tend to gain weight on their bust/back & perhaps shoulders, as well as their on hips.
@ViolettaGenova
@ViolettaGenova 2 года назад
Thank you;)) Yeah I mainly gain weight on my hips but when I am in “my weight” my top equals my bottom which make me look hourglass shape. A true pear shape body always need to add volume on top (oversized tops, padded shoulders etc) to balance the heavier bottoms. When I am in my weight I do not need to add volume in my top part. Soo when I am in my weight I am an hourglass shape, but if I gain weight yes I have heavier hips and need to add volume to balance the body. Conclusion is - to be considered an hourglass shape I always need to stay in the same weight. There are pear shaped girls that no matter how much weight they loose they still have heavier bottoms than tops. Hope it make sense;) I guess I can say I am an hourglass shape with some pear shape features😂 But honestly, I do not care how my shape is named. All I am interested in is to learn how to compliment what the nature gave ne🥰

Oh "nothing to wear and a full wardrobe" was my problem for many years!! I found that mainly it happens cause the items in the wardrobe do not match each other. Focus on buying versatile and basic items first to create a core of the capsule wardrobe and later you will be able to see what you are missing:) thank you for kid words about my channel:*

Hey girlie a new subscriber here I've been watching your videos for a while and I finally decided to subscribe I just have a quick question to ask you if you don't mind me asking but in your capsule wardrobe situation how many like back to your own because I see you have quite a few when I watch your videos

@ViolettaGenova 2 года назад
@@lissymercury9066 ohhh bags! Well I mainly use one black crossbody bag that I got last fall. You see it almost it all my videos. Also, I have a shopper bag, a straw bag for summer and a small blue bag for summer. Sometimes, I am sent a pr bag but I usually add * in description if the item is pr.

I find it a bit funny that you say that one shouldn’t try to follow the “rules” too much and look at what you need, yet immediately after you give a list of “must have” items and colours. I *never* wear a white t-shirt for instance or about half of the items you say are a must. I know many women who would never wear a black or beige sweater (I avoid beige like the plague because it makes me look sick). On the contrary, I wear a blazer almost every day. I just find it quite contradictory and also a bit strange that so many channels preach minimalism but prescribe items that objectively don’t work for many people.

Thank you for your comment! Please use my video only as a guide and do not follow the exactly steps. I simply share my experience with Capsule Wardrobe. Totally agree with you about not copying completely someone's capsule because every person and own's style is unique. Thank you for stopping by and watching my video:)

You should figure out your kibbe body type. You'll probably love the different style types and see why you dont like fitted blazer, etc, for example. You're so much more than an hourglass shape. 💕
@ViolettaGenova
@ViolettaGenova 2 года назад
Thank you for your comment:) What is kibbe body type?
@TheNella3887
@TheNella3887 2 года назад
@@ViolettaGenova you'll have to Google and/or RU-vid "The Kibbe Body Type System". It was developed by David Kibbe in the 80s. It focuses on 5 main categories, Dramatic, Classic, Natural, Gamine, and Romantic. It evaluates the balance of yang (sharp, angular) and yin (soft, rounded) features in the body. Check out Aly Art's channel. She has some great explanations and examples.

It works both ways, I’m more comfortable in a silk skirt and blouse, or knit dresss. There’s nothing in my lifestyle to make these impractical, and I hate jeans, they’re so uncomfortable.

Of course! As long as your clothes fit your style you are great! And it is totally fine not to like jeans:) They could be a bit restrictive sometimes
