I mean technically the storm in fortnite was kinda explained there was a whole PvE game mode called "Save the world". The battle royale mode got added after that.

Oh man, I feel like you should mention Golden Chests spawn in the same location right now and also spawn based on player proximity. Less players dropping in or around your zone = more chests . More players can mess with Spawns I noticed. Drop to Landslide and test it out, if no one is there, you should see about 3-5 chests there alone. Three, maybe even a fourth in the main middle area, one on the wall closer to Collapse Zone, and one that spawns almost always in a corner of some rubble by the Top of Landslide Zone. Once you learn a few spawns and drop for levels more than kills, the game gets dramatically easy because you get into fights while people are still scrambling looking for literally anything while you're here with Lvl 3-7 Quirk Skill and just shit on them. 😂
