I kinda wish these games were a thing when I was in school. I got my Xbox 360 for X-Mas 2009 and people asked if I've played Assassin's Creed 2 yet. Me being me, I was all like "I haven't played the first one yet" and so I bought it at Game Stop during my lunch break. You can probably get by skipping it, but I still enjoyed it and it still has Kristen Bell 😍 like the second game and Brotherhood

Wish some things got kept in though. Like the J quarter of Rome (there was huge scumbaggery done by Cesare's henchmen in the quarter, so it wouldve reinforced his villainy, but also would introduce some moral ambiguity since Rodrigo actually allowed the Js in), Renaissance slavery (would've been very interesting to explore), Lorenzo Medici being kind of a scumbag and Ezio doing his dirty work (would've introduced some much needed moral ambiguity and would've been emotional if we had to assassinate Lorenzo. Instead it's only brought up once by Lucrezia and completely dropped), and way more accurate clothing for Valhalla. Also wish the Greco-Persian War segment of Odyssey wasn't just a more accurate retread of 300

@@ManiacMayhem7256 Can’t help but agree with all of your points, dude. Though the games you mentioned are truly great with what they have, there are definitely some things that could be better historically. I thought about the whole “Medici” thing while I was replying AC2 recently. And though some of Eivor’s outfits (excluding the Helix store ones) are pretty well based in historical accuracy, some of the outfits of the other characters and background NPCs (Like all of the Ally Vikings that wear blue) could for sure be better.

Remember folks AC helps preserve history, remember the church that burned down? AC has the perfect rendition of the inside and outside of the church and that church was notre dame cathedral AC was amazing, it still is amazing regarding the action, parkour and story but newer AC is just basically any generic RPG, back then it was pure We can still enjoy the newer ones but going for historic accuracy, original combat system and just plain Assassins creed might not be what present day people want, for old fans yes that is a godsend but for newer fans it might be boring, ubisoft is still a company and their main goal is to make money, so theyll choose profit over praise anyday

6:51 Robespierre was indeed shot in the jaw however it was a failed attempt by him to commit suicide rather than be arrested, tried and executed by the mob after him. all the shot did was manage to break his jaw which shut him up but failed to kill him. He would be tried and executed by guillotine in 1794. Ironically a device he was so fond of using to execute his rivals. Another name for him was the Prince of Terror. Due to his role in the Reign of Terror during the first French Republic. France would go through 3 additional Republics before modern day.

Another bit of history AC had nailed is the attempted assassination attempt of the Medici by the Pazzi conspirators (this event was depicted in Assassin's Creed II) That in-game sequence was based on the real life assassination attempt to Lorenzo de Medici in 1478 as part of Pazzi conspiracy. The attack happened at il Duomo in Florence, Italy. Lorenzo's brother, Guiliano was killed by the attackers (which was also shown at the game) and Lorenzo was wounded but survived. One major difference between the game and the real life event was that in ACII, the attack happened outside the il Duomo, but the real life event happened inside the church.

I was surprised they get the Paul revere story mostly right. Referring to the red coats as “the regulars” as opposed to “the British”, and not just riding through a town shouting “the British are coming”. Aside from the obvious made up part of Connor riding Revere around, the only thing really inaccurate is Paul revere being the only one telling the townspeople, in reality there were a few people riding horses telling the townspeople of the regulars arrival.

You can do that. Black Flag introduced sharks, I always feared swimming in those waters. That's not exactly what happened. Ubisoft hired an architecture expert named Jean-Pierre Houdin who had a theoretical model as to how the pyramid was constructed. @mckenlyoneal143
@mckenlyoneal143 2 года назад
@@FreezyBreeze14 I feel like you are only saying that because of the technological differences between the two games. I mean they are like more 15 years apart Valhalla is going to be bigger and better technically speaking. Story for story however AC2 is better. And I think that’s what people get upset about. AC has abandoned its roots but refuses to admit it. I’m not saying that the mythology trilogy wasn’t bad because I quite enjoyed them however they didn’t feel like ac games. They just had the ac name to boost sales. I think after 5 years people just want to play as assassins again.
@FreezyBreeze14
@FreezyBreeze14 2 года назад
@@mckenlyoneal143 I personally preferred the parkour/combat mechanics better in the new games. I also thought characters were more fleshed out in the newer games (particularly villains), at least relative to AC2 (still slowly working through Brotherhood to Syndicate, sans Black Flag). While AC2 was more focused on stealth, it still felt pretty broken, and I don't mind that Valhalla leaves it to the player to decide how they want to approach combat.
@mckenlyoneal143
@mckenlyoneal143 2 года назад
@@FreezyBreeze14 I see where you are coming from but they’re are definitely things you should consider. you definitely need to play at least all of Ezios story before talking about fleshed out characters and talking about how you like the new games better haha. Seems like your judging one side having the full experience and the other side not have much at all. The Borgia family were some of the most fleshed out villains in the series. Ezio himself is the most fleshed out character in all of AC period. Going from a revenge stricken adolescent to a true master assassin. Then you have people like Eivor who actually had a big break through in character progression about how being prideful is bad and one shouldn’t always seek glory, the literal thing that separates her (using cannon eivor who is a girl) from Odin only to then deny becoming an assassin because she doesn’t like that there is no glory in it for her. Doesn’t really make sense. What was the point of this story and her entire arc? Also Arthur being the leader of the cult doesn’t make sense at all either and seemed thrown in their very rushed at the end and goes no where. Like I said before of course you like the parkour/combat of the new games better because they’ve had 15 years and new technology to make it better, however one could argue that the stealth mechanics in the new games are actually pretty bad, borderline broken, and that it’s much more focused and favored on running in and just killing everyone, especially Valhalla. If you like player decision on combat unity and syndicate actually had the best choose your own route to kill a target. Biggest thing I recommend is actually going through the old games and give them the time and credit they deserve, especially the Ezio trilogy. There’s a reason he got 3 games and is pretty much the face of AC all these years later.

Philologists and classicists agree that Atlantis is a fictional island mentioned in an allegory on the hubris of nations, even the Athens in the story are nothing but a pseudo-historic embodiment of Plato's ideal state. And ground-penetrating radar alone is not enough to prove anything, and to believe that any amateur could come to a reasonable conclusion with this technology is pseudoscientific. Interpretation of radar-grams is generally non-intuitive to the novice and considerable expertise is necessary to effectively design, conduct, and interpret GPR surveys.
@garyballard179
@garyballard179 Год назад
@@God_Is_An_Atheist Dude, some scientists still refuse to accept that Europeans and Asians reached the American continents well before Columbus, despite physical evidence of their presence. Despite claims by politically motivated individuals, there's still no consensus on whether or not "man-made" climate change is significant, or even measurable. Scientists still ignore cryptids, even after some have been identified, or allegedly extinct species are rediscovered. The chupacabra, for instance, has been identified as a hairless canid hybrid, though many zoologists dismiss them as "mangy dogs" without even testing the specimens collected. Yetis have potentially been identified as a subspecies of polar bear previously believed extinct. A few species have had to be removed from the "extinct" list after living specimens were recorded. Zoologists even dispute the number of black panther sightings, claiming it's "virtually impossible" for more than one North American panther to have black fur at any given time. There's still a debate over whether paper masks offer any protection from COVID despite research showing they don't. The city of Troy was located decades ago, and people still don't fully accept it. A lot of scientists still dispute the evidence that religion came before agriculture, and played a large part in forming societies that settled in one location. Some scientists even ignore the existence of Gobleki Tepe and the surrounding structures because it invalidates their hypotheses on the earliest societies. A number of archeologists dispute that Egyptian pyramids were used as tombs - or, more accurately, grave markers - despite the evidence that at least some of the few we've uncovered _did_ house the dead. There's even an argument about how they were built. So I don't need your uninformed opinion when a GPR survey has shown structures indicating manmade buildings of at least a large town under mud flats on the southwestern coast of Spain, at a location matching the general description of three different cities. Especially when all three cities specialized in metallurgy, idolized bulls, were located on islands, and had temples dedicated to Poseidon.
@God_Is_An_Atheist
@God_Is_An_Atheist Год назад
@@garyballard179 It doesn't matter what "some scientist" say, the scientific method exists for a reason and it will lead to a consensus based on the evidence. But you don't really care about that, do you? Because there is a consensus on climate change. The vast majority of actively publishing climate scientists (97 percent) agree that humans are causing global warming and climate change, and that it will become even more serious unless we make big changes in how we generate energy. If you're looking for "politically motivated individuals" look at the oil industry and car manufacturer. If you care about evidence and science, read a scientific journal. But reading through the rest of the your drivel makes it pretty obvious that you don't care about science or evidence, unless you can somehow skew it to fit your preconceived world view. That's why you push so hard for pseudoscientific narratives, because then you don't have to rely on the scientific method and actual scientific work.

Surprised you didn't mention the statues under the villa auditore, specifically Amunet's. It says she used a snake to kill Cleopatra, and even though we believe she committed suicide using a snake, we didn't back then.

I am confused about something. For their ac2 footage for the chapel is how? In all other playthroughs I did you had to have Altair armor

Yes, you're confused. Ezio doesn't wear Altair's armor.

Any historical inaccuracies are explained in the first game as it's the textbooks that are wrong problem solved lol 😝 Got all sequels on PS4, would love it if the first game could be played on that too. I'd take a port/remaster, but imagine if it got remade. The gameplay didn't bother me, but I'd love me some database entries, I'm kinda disappointed Origins & Odyssey didn't have those. Some say Odyssey & Origins are prequels, but they're forgetting modern-day. Am I glad the Ezio Collection I got on PS4 fixed the muted dialogue I experienced in the 360 version of Assassin's Creed 2 Atlantis footage showing Alexios instead of Kassandra 😯

After Blackbeard falls, the game tells you to flee. I chose to remain and try to destroy all those fuckers' ships and avenge Blackbeard. I took a few down but realised quickly two of them were literally invincible. Slowly wearing my ship down, I had to leave. Absolute bullshit.

Let's get something VERY clear here: Assassin's Creed didn't get any of their historical details WRONG so much as they either embellished or changed some details for the games. The teams always have historical consultants that know exactly what they're talking about. To say they got historical details wrong implies they are making 100% historically accurate games which is not the point of any of the AC games.
