Most Fallout fans know that the Doctor was also referanced in New Vegas. During the Battle for Hoover Dam, if the player is on the NCR side and switched to the NCR Emergency channel they can hear the phrase, “Bravo Bravo Charlie, The Doctor is on the way!” Nonwho ian would just pass this off as a physician being dispatched to wounded soldiers, but to those of us in the know it’s incredibly obvious as Bravo Bravo Charlie is phonetics for BBC. Who ever squad BBC is they know help is on the way.
Imagine being some kid out of Reno who enlisted and ended up doing absolutely nothing but stand around until a bunch of psychopathic cosplayers start murdering everyone who used to give you orders. You wouldn't question where the blue box came from you'd just get in.
The Witcher 3 is another candidate for this category - there's a cemetery with a small indoor shrine where the player fights a water hag. Two statues stand outside the shrine, and upon entering then leaving the statues will have moved to face you. Geralt even comments on it.
I had this happen in another playthrough, with the exception that Geralt of Rivia never commented on the angels moving. I believe this only happens during the Witcher Wannabe quest, as it never happened before or after the quest where Geralt searches for Mourntart the Grave Hag.
The Lego Dimensions level pack is genuinely amazing. There is so much more to it than mentioned in this video. They add in extra hidden levels where you can venture into other adventures, like "the Girl in the Fireplace". If you get the opportunity to give it a go, definitely take it up.
@@classicghost2009 yea it’s hard to find You gotta look online since it’s a physical only game, it has an actual board you must plug in and you have to own the Lego 12th doctor pack which I do
Also there was a reference to it in his final two parter when Minnie says 'But you never said he was a looker' with emphasis on Looker. Sound familiar?
I wonder if you'll have to have played Edge of Time first? I have VR, but the reviews were mixed to negative, so I surprisingly didn't get it, even though I'd really wanted it. The new game looks amazing, though, and I'm surprised it's not supporting VR. I guess that's okay.
There's a mod for Fallout New Vegas, called Fallout Who Vegas. It has 8 or 9 TARDIS interiors, Doctor Who quests, weapons, clothes and the ability to regenerate.
My favourite Who reference in games is probably still in FNV: Old World Blues - having Wild Wasteland (the Easter Egg trait) will cause one of the in game mechanised skeletons to randomly quote "Hey, who turned out the lights". It's especially creepy as those enemies dont have any other dialogue in the game
*Life is Strange refrences Doctor Who a few times.* - Victoria's laundry ticket shows it was served by Amelia Pond. - Warren's email account icon is the Tardis. *His flash drive also contains pirated D.W. episodes. - Max finds a sleeping owl and says "Good evening, Doctor Hoo". * ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0res33KJnuo.html - One of Kate's get well cards is signed by Rory W. and River S. - Rachel mentions that she performed in a Dr. Who homage called "Weeping Angels". I love this game. 💙
Actually they were dieing and wanted the Doctor's regeneration energy to make themselves immortal. Yes, the Doctor tried to be kind, but he also knew, they were dieing and was completely fine with that. He was hiding, so they could die. I'm not a native english speaker, but I think that could eventually be interpreted as Bating them out. I might be wrong though.
@@Croftice1 He wasn’t bating them out he was hiding from them so he wouldn’t have to punish them so badly and nothing ever said they were actually dying. They wanted to be immortal but nothing said they were actually Dying. He was being kind by hiding and hoping they would eventually leave him alone so he wouldn’t be forced to punish them. They were so greedy that they forced him to give them what they wanted and make them immortal by trapping them in a Mirror, in a Supernova, as a Scarecrow, and on Train Tracks as a Link in the Tracks
@@Marky11694 They do say they're dying actually, in the episode the Doctor tells Martha that the Family will naturally expire in three months time so all they had to do was hide until then. The Family would never have left him alone and would have hunted him relentlessly if they had been able to live longer.
I had not been interested in that game until I saw that they put Dr. Who as The Professor in it. Now I think I might put some more effort into the game just to see it for myself!
Oh, the reference in Wizard101 gets better. All those points in the timeline that you need to fix, the disruptions are caused by the meddling of another time-traveling dog named "The Maestro". There's also another dungeon featuring a parody of the Jodie Whittaker incarnation, who is now travelling with a companion named "Hark'Ness". The dungeon also has a secret optional fight against a quartet of "Cybermanders", which are basically cybermen, but as anthropomorphic salamanders.
Some people say bopping around Fallout 3 in the Tardis sporting Iron Man armor while packing a Lightsaber and a Star Trek Phaser is cheating; I call it fun.
You missed THREE! Fallout New Vegas, Securitons on the strip shout "EXTERMINATE!" when they go into combat, and in the DLC "Dead Money", the creepy "Ghost People" monsters wear gas masks and on one wall is scrawled: "I am NOT your Mummy!" ;) Also in Fallout New Vegas Old World Blues, the "Silence in the Library" "Hey, who turned out the lights?!" by one of the walking suits
Speaking of Silence in the Library, in the Skyrim DLC Dragonborn, there is a particular part of the library world of Hermaeus Mora (eldritch god and book nerd) where the lighting is all wonky and the shadows try to eat you.
Dungeons And Dragons artist Keith Parkinson (who died in 2005 from Leukemia) did an image for the Dragonlance books back in the later 1980s that depicted 2 wizards fighting each other (one being a gold skinned Rastlin Majure and the other being his master Fistandantilus, that was taken directly from a scene in the "Twins" trilogy of books). On the shelf of the wizards chambers is a miniature Tardis. Keith was apparently a fan and wanted to put something in there as an easter egg to one of his favourite things.
Just letting you know, there is at least 2 Doctor Who references in Runescape, both are quests. 1 being the quest " Back to the Freezer ". Second is the Myreque quest series, Amelia and Rory. They would be found near the well in Burgh De Rott. You talk about the skeletal hellhound and somewhere in Amy and Rorys dialogue, they talk about a hero wearing a bowtie.
It's worth pointing out that The Looker was the central character involved with the time/space shenanigans in Diamond/Pearl and Sun/Moon (presumably Pokemon Legends involves this as well, given that you're obviously working for Team Galactic from the future).
There are two Doctor Who levels in Lego Dimensions: a level in the base game, which includes segments from The Girl in the Fireplace and the Pandorica (SPOILERS: there's a minikit hidden inside it), as well as the level pack which is purchased separately. In fact, I'd never watched Doctor Who before I played Lego Dimensions but after seeing all the stuff in those levels, I thought "I really need to watch the show if I'm gonna get all this, aren't I?" and the rest is history.
There are also references to other episodes scattered throughout other levels - for example, in the LOTR level "Riddle Earth" there's a TARDIS spot that takes you to a segment from Dinosaurs on a Spaceship
My favorite mod for _The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion_ adds the TARDIS as a mobile player home. It has everything you need and can be summoned anywhere with an easy-to-cast Alteration spell. It allows you to fast-travel from inside a dungeon without having to backtrack to the entrance. It allows you to recruit almost any NPC as a companion. There are many other conveniences, too, so I highly recommend it even for those who aren't familiar with Doctor Who.
It's actually amazing that even though Doctor Who is such an incredibly popular show and it's been ongoing since the 60s, there never actually was a big (not fanmade, mobile etc.) Doctor Who game. It has huge potential and would probably be an easy bestseller. I mean, I have no idea how the potential developers would execute it, but they could get in touch with the likes of Russel T. Davies or Steven Moffat and I'm sure it would turn out fantastic.
Off brand gallifrey and the TARDIS also show up as a planet and relic in Stellaris. You can find a planet Gullifrey with weird time manipulation going on around it and if you complete the excavation on the planet get the TARDIS as a relic.
@@Knightfang1 I'm realizing now that its probably added by a mod, rather than being in the base game. But, in the base game there is the archeological site "The Library" which is a planet wide library with a killer microorganism infesting it. So there is still an archeological site reference to DW in the base game that isn't just the art for the Grunur cities.
There were a bunch of Doctor Who references in the now-long-dead City of Heroes, from dark TARDIS shapes parked in one of the scarier neighborhoods, to a quest where you had to retrieve the Hand of Omega.
Bioshock. The mannequins = weeping Angels. Didn't know it at first when when I turned around after emptying that safe it sure scared the crap out of me. Also there is an easter egg of sorts on the Lego Dimensions whereas if you set it to the 4th Doctor. You can get a different Tardis interior on a day that is a multiple of 4 (4th, 8th, 16th... etc of the month).
In City of Heroes Homecoming, in the zone called Kallisti Wharf, a zone that was going to be released before CoH was originally shut down. There is a Blue Police Box in one of the areas. All the other Police Boxes are Red. There is also an oddly familiar Red Flat-nosed Semi among some Blue ones.
It should be known in City of Heroes that on the roof of the Pocket D inter dimensional Dance Club, a TARDIS can be seen barely admist some other features.
I did a column tracking down the TARDIS in pop culture over a decade ago, and there are tonnes of references. I couldn't remember them all, but the blue box featured in so many games from Asheron's Call to many others (can't remember them all now). But it's a lot! The TARDIS is tucked away in a surprising number of games :D
The Tardis in the original Fallout... Had to be Doctor number 6... Remember he bollixed up the chameleon circuit... Probably crossed the temporal inertia dampeners with the dematerialization circuits...
One of the earlies MMO's Asheron's Call had a Tardis that would very very rarely randomly spawn in the far wilderness. It didn't do much but it was fun to find and screenshot.
Lego Dimensions was so good. It even had a Red Dwarf easter egg! It seems that whenever I get into a game that's supposed to have long legs, it dies on its arse.
In Jetpack Joyride there is the possibility to unlock and buy a "blue box" vehicle patch... Clearly a TARDIS not only for the aspect and the name, but also because it can teleport the player along the screen
The game “Contrast” has a Tardis in the game. I know it’s not a video game but there was an episode of the cartoon “Recess” there was a character called “The Dude” he practically looks identical to The 10th Doctor and this cartoon was way before David Tennant played the 10th Doctor because this cartoon aired during the 90’s.
If you play the Saints Row series, a tongue and cheek series similar to GTA. You can find an Easter egg in the fourth game when you travel to the north pole to fight not so jolly Saint Nick. In one of the caves you'll find a different type of blue box called the Turdis.
Saints Row is far better than GTA, I am sorry but it doesn't take itself too seriously and I know GTA has their funny moments and all that, but Saints Row turns that weird amp up to 11, the reboot tried to reground itself with the story, which they did for the most part, but outside of the story the Easter eggs and secrets have taken it to great lengths and speaking of The Turdis, it can be found in the reboot too, and what's more it can be photographed and then collected as a collectable to display at your HQ :)
Everyone always brings up the Dr Whoa in TF2 as a Doctor Who reference, but nobody I've seen talks about The Chronoscarf For Medic, Which is a Reference To Tom Baker's 4th Doctor
Fun Fact: Some of the Doctor's most iconic quotes: Lupin Mateee! Do the seven Kamen Riders recognise my voice? Earth... everything about it makes me nostalgic.
One good one is "runescape 3" There is a quest called "back to the freezer" from the penguin quest series, it involes a familiar design on a machine called the "T.A.R.D.I.S" or in runescape they called it the "Terraforming Arctic Refrigeration Dispersing Ice Spreader"
There's another doctor who reference in Fallout New Vegus involving the Y-17 trauma override harness enemies from the Old World Blues DLC. If you have the Wild Wasteland trait, they have a chance to say "Hey, who turned out the lights!?" in refrence to a scene from the Docor Who episode 2 parter Silences in the Laibrary and Forest of the Dead.
There are also a ton of references in the sims games.. tho most have to do with item descriptions some are also moodlet based (like a Star trek reference when you drink earl grey tea in the sims 4 that is called “a cup of bold” the description next to it also says something along the lines of it giving your sim the power to go where none has gone before.. wich when combined are a reference to the line to boldly go where no one has gone before) in the sims 3 supernatural an item was added called the LLAMA wich is literally a phone box wich when playing in the world that came with the expansion allow you to travel to other lots. You can buy one and place it on your lot then you can allow your sim to use it in wich they get into the phone box and they are magically transported to a different one in the world (you can set this up yourself by just putting them across the world on lots) in the sims 4 there is also a phone booth object wich i believe came with the cottage living pack (since it is supposed to be the english countryside) that can be recolored to blue and looks a suspicious amount like the tardis. It’s description is also a big reference though this object is purely decoration
The Sims 4 paid homage to Dr. Who too! In the 'Cottage Living' Expansion Pack you can buy and use a "Who Knows? Phone Booth" it's a london style phone booth that comes in red, green, and BLUE! It is a phone booth and not a police box but it still really reminds you of the Doctor's Tardis. And they did go out of their way to name it "Who Knows? Phone Booth". I put it in a build to pay my homage to Dr. Who. :)
I was very surprised when I found the tardis in a racing game for the gamecube... Extreme G Racing something... can't remember the full title, but that was a very unexpected easter egg to say the least. It's a futuristic super speedy racer type of game, and to even find the reference you have to slow down to a crawl on one of the courses...
missed a reference in call of duty ghosts where in the campaign you'll come across a cabinet full of trophies & one of witch is the shape of a police box & says underneath "awarded for the biggest interior space with smallest exterior size"
In Rome II: Total War, there is an ancillary character you can pick up called the Anachronistic Madman. He looks like an Iceni faction healer (the Iceni live in the British Isles), grants a 10% faction-wide research bonus, and the only description for the character is this: "Diddly-dum, diddly-dum, diddly-dum, diddly-dum. Diddly-dum, diddly-dum, diddly-dum, diddly-dum. Diddly-dum, diddly-dum, diddly-dum, diddly-dum, waaaah-woooooooooo-oooo!" If you're not sure how that ties into Doctor Who, try saying it out loud.
There's a Tardis in Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour too! In E5L3 you can find a green (not blue) police box that teleport you in another place.
It's not the same, but I love mods/plugins. My old server had the Tardis plugin, and I used it constantly. I built the entire server around it, and a little trick I pulled with Mystcraft.
Terraria is also the of the games who have Doctor Who reference. They have a vanity called Fez with the label "Fezzes are cool" which reference to 11th's love for the fez. The 11th Doctor also got his own vanity set named "The Doctor's Shirt" and "The Doctor's Pants".
Nexus mods for Skyrim actually has a Tardis inspired mod called the Sidrat, complete with it's own side quest to allow travel. Check it out Dragonborns!
4:32 Notice how the sign is on the right door rather than the left, and how the light spins instead of blinks. This means that this Tardis belongs to the 2nd Doctor.
