Those character models were in the game? Never found em. But I can understand why some people may not be fans of the change. Its sets a dangerous presidence in regards to gaming as a whole. Bad enough they can take out music when they choose. Nobody wants them altering parts of their purchased game. it's not actually illegal to bring a copy of a banned game into Australia. It's only if it's stated that importing a banned game is illegal, like Mortal Kombat 2011.

Yes it was banned. It was released uncensored and then banned after sex workers sooked over being able to have fun with the prostitutes and then kill them. So the game was removed from shelves and re-released with the ability to pick up prostitutes removed. After 3, VC was released censored from the start with the same censorship that 3 got.

Actually the thing about gta 3 being banned in Australia was that the prostitution aspect was apparently unsuitable for the MA15 guidelines even though it had been rated MA15 and subsequent games also had prostitution which were rated MA15. So Australia got a censored version of gta 3 which removed the ability to pick up a prostitute. At the time Australia didn’t have an R18 rating for games which is why it was censored. It was not until 2019 when the uncensored version was rated and released. Australia has one of the strangest rating boards in the world

U can't ban a game just because one player is a murderer. That guy had his own problems long before the game was even released, you can't blame media for a mad guys actions and you certainly shouldn't generalize the game audience and asume that others would do the same horrible actions too.

Couldn’t you just like have a VPN setup to make it so you’re using an IP address in the United States, then download the game on the Xbox or PS store and easily get the American version? No worries about having an illegal copy sent from overseas, you could instantly play the real versions.
