Roman* actually, far more than Cena. When Cena succumbed to two F-5, Roman needed 5+ everytime. When Cena was pinned at 2 spears while Roman tanked 4 AA's. Roman even kicks out of every finisher even on regular matches not in just PPVs.
I hate him because of that. I'd even go so far as to say he's the worst thing to ever happen to WWE. But that's just my opinion and I know that that will piss off the Cena nut huggers out there.
I see someone (a "spectrum dave") mentioned me here but I can't see their comment. Something about being "more mad with Cena than his nut huggers" People are stupid. Disliking or hating someone doesn't equal being mad with them or anyone else.
Well we can fairly confirm that Warrior is literally indestructible and in a good way, he always got his adrenaline rush which really entertain everyone And the Deadman's kayfabe was portraying someone who can't be defeated especially in his own playground, except the Undertaker decided to end his streak and his prime was already over Other wrestler who survived multiple finisher, which I mean their one and only official finisher, was literally mess up because it ruin the finisher and made the finisher looks normal Well the Fiend now became the actual immortal until Goldberg's spear and Jackhammer ruin him, that's what I'm trying to say
@@raoprateek619 the fiend withstand 11 stomps and a lot of weapon shots and even get sledge hammered and still manage to win but defeated by a single jackhammer
Undertaker is reasonable though, I mean that's how his character revolves in, enduring the pain, kicking out of finishers, making him invincible and the Deadman
Now you know it's Goldberg and not Taker who botches every time, i always knew the problem was Goldberg, Taker even old has performed some last matches very well.
They booked themselves into a hole with that match. They weren't ready to give Bray the title but they also didn't wanna make him lose or look weak. Solution? Break the internet and every ounce of kayfabe they had left apparently.
Yeah that's right, signature move isn't the same with finisher, it won't end the match unless wrestler executed it from such high or on chair, table or steel step
@JOSEPH MARIETTA His Last Ride used to be his Finisher when he is in American Badass gimmick, and you are right, Tombstone Piledriver is his whole gimmick from the start until the end
People didn't hated the Lesnar vs Reigns match, they hated the fact that it was going to be the "Grand coronation of Reigns" for the 87th time, that's why they where so damn happy when Lesnar won.
Oh man, Warrior vs Macho Man, back in the day when multiple finishers were unheard of. I remember watching that match, as a kid who believed what he saw. I knew a finisher was just that, a finish. So when Macho Man hit a second, I was surprised. I got more and more upset every time Savage dropped another elbow because as a kid the Ultimate Warrior was my all time favourite. When he kicked out after 5 elbows, I shouted so loud the neighbours called over to see if everything was okay. My mom had to tell them I was just watching wrestling lol! And then he made his big comeback and he won, and well, I don't think I slept that night from the excitement. And now that I have typed that out, it reminds me that wrestling will never be that exciting again, not only because of the prevalence of the Internet and the inside information, but even if you raised a fan without all that... the shows just are not as compelling or good as they were back then either.
In my opinion they didn’t use a lot of finishers cause every finisher they did was not there own and everyone knows a match never ends on a finisher that’s not your own and if it does happen it’s very rare
@@Tidalwave848 ok so the fiend has never been beaten (well we not gonna count Goldberg) so they have implied it and I dont really know why he's unbeatable but its apart of the story
@@ironwolf15w90 okay I agree with you there but the fiend is too indestructible and is a fan favourite name any one that can beat the fiend and still get cheered
Nah the fiend should have been a special character who could never be defeated unless you somehow found his weakness but they let golderg win after 1 jackhammer then the horrible mania 37 finish
People don't get attention offline so they get on the Internet to get attention...how unfortunate. Well I hope they find the attention they so desperately crave.
Fiend kinda made sense as they were going with the unbeatable gimmick at that time... But then he got jobbed out to money-hungry Oldberg. WWE surely is, a confusing place.
He wasn't facing off against a noob he was facing off against John Cena now I can see if you were mad if it was a noob but it was Jon freaking Cena come on
@@oldlife3yearsago...921 exactly, come on. Not even the great Stone Cold Steve Austin kicked out of 3 rock bottoms. And to make it worse, you have Cena shaking the Rocks hand and hugging him after he beat him but when the Rock beat him the year before, he couldn’t be bothered to congratulate him. He just started complaining how the Rock ruined his life. How does this make Cena a good sport?
@@robertritter8444 the entire match was stupid in not only how bad it was with the spamming of finishing moves but how it threw one Wrestlemania under the bus (27) to set up a match that lied to everyone (28) to make it be a “redemption” story arc (29). The match made Cena look strong yes but it also made him look like a spoiled child who only is a good sport when he finally gets his way (aka finally beats them). Did the exact same thing to Punk, Edge, and Kevin Owens
‘Taker vs Triple H at Wrestlemania 27 in my opinion was a great match, and while they were older, they proved that they could still go out there and give the fans a knock down drag out “slobber knocker” of a fight. They did it two years in a row. Also, I believe that they both had hit their physical peaks during those two years, and then gradually started to show their ages with each passing subsequent year. Except Undertaker did get back into phenomenal shape this passed wrestlemania to battle AJ Styles in the boneyard match. That match is the perfect way to ride off into the sunset even though ‘Taker didn’t do the job, but he did make AJ look strong in defeat on his way out. They brought the best out in each other, especially AJ bringing the best out of ‘Taker. I literally thought when ‘Taker got off of that Motorcycle that he had rode in on a time machine that somehow was disguised as a Motorcycle. That was without a doubt the best ‘Taker match in 8 years. What a way to go out though...
Obviously many of these were ridiculous but I feel like sometimes multiple finishes for titles at mania or bigger ppvs make sense. Its the biggest stage with the biggest stakes. Story wise it makes it look like the 2 top guys giving their all and making a last stand before finally being put down (if executed properly).
The Adam Cole vs Johnny Gargano’s matches were pure beauty. I don’t mind if they overuse their finishers in order to create SUCH reaction on the crowd 😌☝🏻.
Anything can be good in this business with a great booking behind, Gargano was the ultimate underdog and Cole the ultimate cocky heel in the building of the match
It was dogshit, the only people who like it are nerds who think finisher spam makes a good match. triple h got jealous of shawn having an actual good wm match against taker with well worked false finishes and tried to copy and paste, but was too retarded to include any of the wrestling or psychology that made it work or change up the formula. loads of nonsensical melodrama as well with triple h telling undertaker to stay down when he's supposed to be ruthless and eager to break the streak
Well its not AEW but have u seen Cody Rhoades vs Kurt Angle; Cody jumps from the cell and gets hit by an angle slam; he kicks out and then stands up like nothing happened. Now thats stupid
@@TheBlessedRed I agree man. I watched the highlight reel of Seth Vs. Fiend HIAC, and personally counted the finishers. When I was done counting, my reaction was "Okay, now this is just getting STUPID." All I know is, if I was in the wrestling business, and my opponent was no-selling my moves that often, I'd reach the point where I start throwing blows that legit connect to my opponent and possibly legit hurt him. I'd be too fucking mad to care at that point.
Ikr like if anything all of them have story in them, just look at the Gargano vs Ciampa feud or Velveteen vs Aleister match cuz although Aleister won the match Dream won the rivalry cuz all he wanted was for Aleister to say his name
@@luyandamakhanya5065 Bro, get the time frame of the context. Debuting Fiend was a freak of nature. However, Goldberg was politicking his match with the Fiend.
Even The Undertaker at his peak needed at most three or four finishers to be finished, and it was after TWENTY years of career, so he was a living legend in those circunstances. The Fiend just appears in mid-2019, gets a Title shot because yes, and kicks out of TEN consecutive finishers at one, AT ONE!! It makes wrestling look painfully fake, and even if it was acceptes by the fans (which wasn't), it tells you that you can hit every finisher you want and that character is still going to kick out. It was beyond ridiculous. Cena's most annoying kick outs look like nothing compares to that. And to finish, I was hoping that the bookers or creative team would reduce the 'strength' of that character but it doesn't seem to have changed at all.
1. No Mercy 2017 Roman Reigns kicking out of multiple Attitude Adjustments from John Cena 2. Wrestlemania XIV Kane kicked out of two Tombstones before falling to a third from The Undertaker 3. Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 26.
I really don't mind multi finisher matches,it's like the surprise roll up,it needs to be used in the right way. With the fiend for example is perfect as it goes with his character. And with undertaker and HHH hell in a cell match with undertaker kicking out of the sweet chin music and the pedigree that was perfect and conveys perfect emotion and how much the streak was important to the undertaker
Vince : how should we book Goldberg's and brock's match ? Goldberg : 10 spears and 2 jackhammers Brock lesnar : 100 suplexes and 100 f5s and 100 punches Hahahahaha
I didn’t know that Austin rock match was supposed to be the main event. But all those finishers served as a great ending of Austin’s career. Showed that he never gives up
I think that kicking up from a lot of finishers was good think for the Fiend but then I changed my mind when he was defeated after 4 Spears from Goldberg the Fiend was also protected because after that Bray was the one who took lost to Braun
I don't mind seeing guys like Brock, goldberg, Taker, Fiend kick out of a finisher or two cause of there size or "power" , but when someone gets pinned on raw after one finisher but that same person on ppv can take the same finisher 3 times, ruins the fantasy in a way
No. What I do mind is the Fiend getting up after like 11 curb stomps and a bunch of other brutal moves. It makes both the move and other people that have lost to it look weak.
@@red5158077 The Fiend sucks now! WWE damaged The Fiend character at HIAC. He was put in a embarrassing moment in that match. It made him look bad. What's worse is that The Fiend lost to Goldberg clean in a squash match. Then WWE ruined the Fiend more when he lost the Universal title to Roman Reigns just a month after he won it from Strowman. Now WWE booked The Fiend and Alexa Piss as a rip-off version Joker and Harley Quinn. Nothing new and special. The Fiend character been dead. The only reason he still around because his Harley Quinn wannabe, Alexa Bliss, which she is outshining him right now. Nobody cares about the Fiend character anymore.
