Load the route on your Apple Maps before you get to the dead zone and it will save the road route in blue and gray screen and you can see what turns are coming up. I traveled for work and always took the slightly longer route around that area. It lightly snowed on me once. Also really nice part of the A.T. Around the dam.
I've been in Charlotte for six years and finally made it out. I'm going to make it at least a yearly thing. I didn't make time for waterfalls, national parks, or bourbon.😎

Thanks for commenting. The camera angle is deceiving. I may have touched the line, but I don't believe I crossed it. It is a valid point and safety is #1 on and off the racetrack.
