Some very handy tips, I use some of them in my own reviewing but never thought of looking at dialogue and to recommend similar books so I am going to try adding them. One thing I like to include is how I found the book, not all mine are sent to me some have an interesting story behind why I picked them up which I include. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

You make some great points, and ones that are very useful from a writer’s perspective, too, since it kind of crystallised what readers are looking for in your work. For myself, I prize originality, both in what I read and (hopefully) what I write. I always like a book which feels like it’s breaking new ground and taking me somewhere I’ve never been before. Unfortunately, as I’m sure you find, yourself, the more you read, the less likely it is that you’ll encounter such things.
