In this Ableton Live tutorial Johannes Menzel shows his top 10 tips for making a Drumcode style techno track. We start from the kick elements and end on the mastering process. Johannes shows his favourite plugins, techniques of writing and editing, as well as nuanced mixing and mastering techniques including saturation, gain automation and compression. Nice tuto and tips, thanks. Even if I'm not on Ableton ! I never try the Kush Omega N. Personnally I own and use the TWK. Beautiful saturation, even at extreme settings.

talked about it yesterday. Johannes moved to a new studio and still needs to make the walls look nice. the track for the new course is almost done already, but the course will take some more weeks to be recorded.

All i want for Christmas is a computer that can handle Live 11 so i can feel like i’m heaven. I had to go back to using live 9, anyone reading this knows that’s a crime.

There are always alternatives within Ableton, I think it’s great to see how producers create their sound… personally I use Bitwig and love PML courses.. I recon I’ve gained more from adapting the sound rather than copying the same setting with the same tools

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad to let you know that this video is quite an exception on this channel. 99% of the tutorials we post ONLY use Ableton Live, no 3rd party vsts.

Like you pay for vsts and dont download them from torrents. You won't make decent music like pros with stock plug ins only.

I think you are confusing youtube marketing and reality! there is never just one way to do it... and never just one plugin that can do this! but there's a big difference between being served soup every night and growing that food in your own garden to eat! and if you hack your plugins it's because you haven't understood the essentials yet! because just with open source you can already do everything, but of course not like the big ones that make you dream, at least that's what you think! and finally buy a plugin that you think is great because it's really what you really need, it's simply supporting a project, because often the best plugins are made by a single guy who works in the shadows and do not pay for advertising on the net

@@biocore01 Of course is not one plug in only to do the job. But that kind of tutorials and masterclasses have made my mixing and producing way better. Like retro color rc 20 plug in which is a game changer and there is no stock plug in to do what it does. There is no one trying to sell you izotope or fab filter. They dont need your approval, cause they are the best and no one can underestimate them. Big ones like Thomas Shumacher make the dreams come true to those who deserve it. If you pay 5€ a month to get his masterclasses then you have acces to discord group chat and besides tips and conversations, if you have a decent track, you can release it to his records and hear your track to awakenings. So do your research and don't cry.
