I really enjoyed this one - thank you Nicholas! In my experience, TIP NR. 8 is easily the most effective (real world) way of improving a company's cash flow and building a healthy amount of cash in the bank. If you are using a Direct Debit scheme you get paid 14 days after you invoice clients - it certainly beats waiting up to 60 days for payment. If your business normally bills people annually, a monthly DD arrangment keeps cash trickling in every montth and also helps your clients' cash flow in being able to nake small payment towards their annual bill. It truly is a win-win for company and customers. I would love to hear other peoples' experiences and tips for improving a company's cash flow - anyone?!
Thank you for providing us with your experience of Direct Debits, Graeme. Yes, we feel one of the main reasons why clients default on payments is due to the size of the payments themselves. By reducing the size of the payments, this makes it far more manageable for clients to pay you. We would also love to hear from anyone else who has tips and experience for improving a company's cash flow - just leave a comment!
We agree John - it's amazing how many companies don't realise the ease at which they can collect payments or identify problem payers via this simple method.
