I am a thrifter and have taken all your tips with me. It has become so much easier to pick out pieces. It truly is easier now to create looks when you have those basic neutral pieces.
I love your color palette, mine is similar, I stick to neutrals, almost-neutral basics like navy and khaki, and pastels. I think a monochrome outfit, especially in white, ivory, beige or black, with minimal, well-chosen accessories, is always an easy chic and elegant look.
I think chic is based on simplicity, polish and using mostly up-to-date classics. You are very chic. I see some would-be-great outfits, if only the clothes were ironed, a spot removed or the shoes clean, etc. A wardrobe works a lot harder if it’s good-quality and well-maintained, it doesn’t have to be expensive. I have watched you evolve - I've seen you go from more color to all neutrals and it's a real learning experience for me. I love your style and see in your neutrals you've found different and very stylish blouses and it appears you've done more than you have, you have just switched items around. Love it all!!
I would love a wardrobe editing video. My closets are overflowing, but I can’t seem to get out of the starting gate on a decluttering. I seem to love everything, maybe I should store half, then rotate it back out? Of course, I have been living in comfy house clothes the last year and a half, that’s part of the problem, except for my twice-per-month grocery run (vaccinated, but high-risk factors, so limiting outings to the max). I just haven’t been wearing a large selection of my usual clothes.
I love color and I love print. So while I think monochromatic and neutral look amazing and chic on others, I just hate it on me. So most my closet is not mix and match. But more, I wear this with that or maybe that. There is a lot of energy in my clothing and thats ok, I like it. But I love looking at other people's styling. Never boring, just different

Great advice about trends: I was excited to try those padded-shoulder tees, but they make me look like a linebacker, but with big boobs! The next trend will be better, this tee is being donated. We have a lot of newly homeless people here in California, whose homes just burned down and really need on-trend clothes right now.

Bright colors are fun, but they always seem to be limiting, I agree. Like those on-trend Kermit the Frog green items, it’s a fun color, but after wearing it with white a few times, then what? I don’t like black with those bright colors very much, it kills them flat. So, I’ve just learned to avoid the bright colors over the years. Plus, very saturated colors aren’t the best with my coloring, I have about as much natural color as a cotton ball!
Great tips. To me, "chic" is a French word. When I think "chic" I ask myself would a French woman wear this? Has this been in style 10 years ago? Will it be in style for the next 10 years? Not all celebrities look "chic" so I wouldn't necessarily look to them for inspiration. Great video.
