10 Tools You Should ONLY Buy From Harbor Freight! 

I always see/hear a lot of people hating on HF but I actually love the place! For people like me that don't need professional level tools and equipment but just need stuff for around the house and occasional use Harbor Freight is a great place for that in my opinion. I could spend quite a while in there and still not see everything they have

10 recommendation in less the 5 minutes. Thanks for cutting to chase and leaving out the all the buildup chatter that does nothing but waste people time.

A couple of years ago I bought some breaker bars and 2 torque wrenches from Harbor Freight. For as little as I use them, it's a no-brainer.

I know plenty of pros that use Pittsburgh impact sockets every day with no issues. I can't believe that floor jacks didn't make your list! I've had my OG gray Pittsburgh 3 ton for well over 5 years and it still works great! I also recently bought a black Daytona long/low 3 ton and I LOVE it!

Great video 👍 I have the rolling bench with drawers and love it. I have several air tools and have had no complaints or issues. Broke the tip on a 3/8" breaker bar and they swapped it out. I have also begun the process of switching out my mix and match sockets to their Icon line. Lastly, if you ever need to replace an inner tie rod, their $25 inner tie rod tool is amazing. From HF: aluminum floor jacks, wrenches, compression tester, ball joint tool, cordless impact wrench, etc all still working and saving me lots of money.

I have bought tools from Harbor Freight for years. I am retired now, I worked for years as an electronics engineer. I found the small needle nose pliers, and small hog nose pliers, little diagonal cutters, etc. were perfectly serviceable and a great bargain. The same goes for lots of their other tools too.

I bought the old corded 1/2" impact & impact sockets from the HF, long before Milwaukee let it rain tools, and they've been awesome for weekend work. they saved the day with the rear diff plugs on a 4runner just now.

Went to the Topeka KS store today, 7/18/2020 and got pretty much everything I wanted for at home work-- I don't need the highest grade pro stuff, so that $19.99 Warrior cordless drill will do just fine, and even when I threw in the bit set, driver/bit set, wire brush, and drill holster it was still less than a premium cordless drill by itself I wouldn't use enough to justify it. Also got the oiled tanned leather tool belt (18 pockets), 6" bubble level, utility knife, replacement blades w/ dispenser (@ $4.99, it cost more than the 1.99 knife!), Hand jigsaw and blades, and I splurged and got the "pro" rip hammer for 7.49 instead of the claw hammer for 4.99 ( the rip just felt better), and a 1.99 4-bit screwdriver when I don't need to mess with the drill. Oh, a pack of zip ties, bring the total after discounts to $183

The only real disappointments I’ve had at HF: centec battery charger and a ceiling texture spray gun. Got money back on one, at least. Everything else has been “kinda lame but worth more than I paid.”

Great video. just so happens that I have most of the items on that list, so, I apparently agree with you!. Only thing I've had issues with is the C-clamp. Seems it stripped fairly easily, if you can believe that. Was using it for brake jobs. May just be the one I got as HF isn't known for their QA. Would probably give it another try for that price. Good video! I agree a lot of bargains to be had at Harbor Freight. I recently bought a Predator 2500PSI pressure washer there. Pressure hose ruptured within 10 minutes of first fire-up, but I worked a deal with the manager, and got a replacement the next day. No problems ever since. My next purchase is going to be a roll-away tool box. I'm not going to pay 3-4 times that much somewhere else.

As a professional mechanic, I totally agree with all of this. As a young man I bought the Mac torque wrenches, after that, I use and own all the rest on your list. My snap on sockets are for my job only. HF is in my home garage!

Good stuff. I buy the cheep stuff and if it breaks I get the high-end one. I would disagree with the pry-bar there is to much flex in the HF to be the go-to.

I bought the 1/2 breaker bar 18 years ago because it was required for pulling tension off of the serpentine belt on a Ford Tempo. To this day, I’ve never used it again. So glad I paid $10 instead of $80.

I have a bunch of Harbor Frieght Tools. My favorite is the Electric Impact Driver I mail ordered when I was stationed Cubi Point in 90. Still working today!

In 2013 I bought their oscillating tool on sale for $20. I bought the $5(?) extended warranty. It lasted thru two flooring jobs undercutting doors, etc. I took it back to HF and they gave me a new one. It just died within the last month after using it for many, many projects over the last 7-8 yrs. A true bargain.

I've been using that impact socket set on ride on mowers and never had a problem. Also have both of those breaker bars and the magnet trays.

Love the 4" magnetic dish. Base can pop off if it's dropped on the floor, but the magnet will hold it in place again if you put them back together. Picked up several recently because I had a coupon to get them for 63 cents each! Coupon expires on July 17th, though.

Coupons, coupons, coupons! I have most of those tools and they are frequently 20% to 40% off of the prices you cited if you have a HF coupon! I rarely opt in to email marketing but HF emails are so worth it!

Started buying tools 43 years ago and Sears use to be the go to place to get tools but they were ALWAYS expensive. Felt like getting screwed unless what you needed was 50% off sale price, but most everything was American made 🇺🇸 👍😁. Kmart had good inexpensive socket sets in metal trays made in Taiwan when I needed a few metric. J.C. Whitney had special tools very cheap and bought a lot from Harbor Freight whey were mail order only. Be aware of your needs so if a bargain crops up you can take advantage of it. It's better to have a tool and not need it as the other way around. 😉

I agree with everything except for the clamps. I've had bad experiences with both the c clamp, and the slide clamps. Most the time, the swivel end pops off and now you just have a ball point sliding all over the work piece.

My son is a "very high end" finish carpenter. He buys HF Cup Spray guns for finishing. They work great and you can just throw them away. He usually waits for a sale and buys 6-12. Also son with a high end Hot Rod Shop. Buys lots of the car dollys to move vehicles around.

used the cheap colored sockets for 20 years as a professional mb tech. never broke one. f snap on. hf is awesome

At the shop I have a Lysle creeper, the one from harbor freight broke on first use. While laying on the creeper it broke on the plastic where caster mounts. Return it got my money back. For reference I weight 215 LBS. The 1/2" swivel impact socket too kept breaking so I bought a gearwrench one that has been holding up pretty good. The pry bars I like but also they're not solid as a recognized brand they flex and will bend. The icon pry bar that's like 36" is pretty solid, worth the extra money. Impact sockets, torque wrenches, 1\2" extendible ratchet have been nice too.

There impact sockets have blown my mind! I've honestly had my 1 1/4 deepwell with my half inch breaker bar with a 10 foot pipe on that with my full weight on the pipe and those things held up.

I’d like to see a side by side comparison of the mechanics rolling seats. The Pittsburg piece is a great deal and I’m sure it rolls around nice and supports weight but how well built is it? I’d like to see the differences in gauge steel used on this seat and the one at Home Depot. Also curious about the wheels.

The roller seat just got recalled. Took mine back last night. I'm a heavy truck mechanic and I have zero problem with the Pittsburgh impact sockets

I work as a professional tech and I use HF tools especially anything that has a lifetime warranty. Hey if it breaks I just stop by on my way home or at lunch and get a new one. No waiting for the truck to show up and then wait longer to get it replaced. My HF impact sockets are doing good and I have the stool too along with other items. Nice vid CB take care Brother

I can attest to the C clamps, dead blow hammers and rolling stools. I also like their 48" LED shop lights for about $20 5000 lumens is bright. Had to replace a couple of the switches with toggle switches but no major problem. I like their sandpaper for my random orbital sander also. Oh and those small LED lights they sometimes give away with a purchase are very handy too.

Do a search for coupons, the breaker bar and torque wrench go for about $10. Or just buy the torque wrench and use it for a breaker bar. I have an led rechargeable magnetic work light that is awesome. With coupon about $27.

I’ve bent my HF pry bars. 17 years and still have yet to bend my Snap On pry bars. Wish HF had magnetic sockets.

I have an old 12v Makita cordless drill that is in perfect shape except both batteries are dead. Makita wants over $100 a battery and aftermarket ones aren't that much cheaper and have mixed reviews. So I told my kids if they wanted to get me a useful gift, HF had a 12v Drill Master drill and flashlight combo for $20. For around the house, it works fine and surprisingly the flashlight gets a lot of use too. And as a bonus, they got me a Drill Master corded angle grinder for $10. It's been about 4 years and both tools still serving their purposes.

One key point is that HF will also replace those hand tools if they break. Much like the Craftsman warranty. Just bring it in and they give you a new one, no questions asked.

I have a sawsall that I bought back in the 90's (the old Chicago Electric orange version) that still works, it came with extra brushes and I haven't had to replace them yet.

I have actually broken a couple of the 3/8” breaker bars, harbor freight and others. Harbor freight replaces them no questions asked just like any other.

Techs where I work buy HF because they can pick up a replacement on the way home from work. They don't have to wait for the SO or Mac truck to show up.

I agree on most of these tools but not the torque wrenches. I had one and brought it back because did not work well. Also I got a nice little sliding stool from Depot for $10 less than HF. I didn't like the HF impact sockets, or chrome sockets either.

I bought lots of stuff from HF over the years. All were great deals for what they’re used for. The most recent tool was a 20 Gal air compressor. It’s a workhorse. I already got more than my money’s worth from blowing out sprinklers at my family’s houses for 2 winters. Their 3/8” air hoses are great also - same quality but 1/2 the price as elsewhere.

Jimmy's getting edgy but still keeps it kid friendly! I have everything but the cargo carrier, and fully endorse my buddy Jimmies recommendations. Ring that bell and smash him in the like button. I've been pushing his buttons since 13 subscribers, when it was just me and his family!

I have all but #1 because I bought impact socket set long time ago! I completely agree with you. I paid cheaper prices for all these than the prices you mentioned.

Fan of harbor freight. Tools are ok and the price is always great. I have 2 portable garage that allows me to keep all my equipment under cover. The only draw back is you can’t purchase replacement cover. I like your Sea Be insignia. I also severed. Great time

I have plenty of HF tools in my box at work. I also have lots of high $$ tools as well. If the HF stuff lasts long enough to earn my money back on them, i'm not pissed if it breaks and i have to buy a new one to replace. ALL of my impact sockets are HF. Had them over 13 yrs now without a single failure! They now have the ICON brand tools which are a very good tool and value as well!
