@@Baz63Ah, I honestly was not aware that they had released something recently. TBH, although I have tons of their albums in FLAC, I haven't really kept up with them to see what they are doing. I was pretty thrilled though when not too long ago they released a number of their albums on vinyl that I figured I would never be able to get. They're really good sounding remasters and I'm glad I grabbed them. I'll definitely look for that recent album, thanks Bro! 👍 ***EDIT Whoa...! I just checked their discography on Discogs, and Bro, they have released like 5 or 6 albums in 2023! WTF!??? Have you heard all of these? Geez man, where the hell do I start? 😳
@@latheofheaven Ed Wynne(their leader) released 2 solo albums in recent times that are essentially the same type of music as his main band. Space for The Earth was the band's last studio release until Lotus Unfolding which ,in my opinion, is one of their best in some years. In case you haven't heard the album yet 'Paper Monkeys' is a superb later release. For the record 'Become The Other' is my favourite Ozric album.
@@Baz63 Ah, that is a great help, thanks! I do have Space for The Earth, and I have the remasters of PE, Strangitude, and Jurassic Shift, all on vinyl which sound pretty good. I was looking at Paper Monkey, but I'm not sure that if it is a remaster or like a 2011 release or thereabouts. I'm downloading Lotus Unfolding right now, I wonder how the vinyl sounds (that is kind of important on my system 😊) I do have Become the Other in FLAC since I have just about everything they've done in FLAC up to about 2009. I'm just now grabbing whatever newer ones in Lossless that I can. I guess I'm wondering if getting the vinyl for Lotus Unfolding and/or Paper Monkey would be worth it? I've had mine for 40 years they're hard to find in the first place never mind in good condition. I bought mine out of a collection. The vinyl is near mint as well. Thanks for noticing and leaving great commentary.

Hey Ron just a quick question if I may please a fellow on the Hoffman forums is selling the first Japanese pressing of Santana moonflower I know you're a real fan of those first Japanese pressings have you had a chance to compare the Japanese moonflower with the US pressing any thoughts I just want to know if I should buy it thank you Ron!

Hey Ronnie! Long time no hear 😁 Well, I did get that 1st Japanese pressing of Moonflower. I'm guessing though that you have not actually heard it because sadly it was SO overbright and lacking in bass. Apparently not all the 1st Japanese pressings are necessarily that great, bummer... 😕 That's why I asked you first before buying it because I know you are a very strong proponent of 1st Japanese pressings, but unfortunately I don't think this is one of them. I'd like to send it to you to see what you think, but I don't see an e'mail to write to you or an address to send things to you. I only paid about $25 for it, so it wasn't too bad. I'm happy to give it to you if I can because I would like to see what you think of it. You can keep it or sell it if you want. Is there a way I can send this to you please? Thanks Ron!
Well I guess you must have got a reissue That's all I can say because that's what the reissues are their base shy and bright they're originals are not. But my experience with Santana the original Columbia pressings were always very good especially the older two eye which of course I don't think this one was made then was made a little later
@@RocknRonni I guess so, but it does indeed have the deadwax runout of the 1st Japanese pressing, it is not a reissue. That's why I wanted to know if I should take a chance on it. I suppose you don't want it either then... 😊 I have an early US that sounds amazing, I just thought maybe you might have had the 1st Japanese and would know if it was better. I just haven't had much success like you have with Japanese pressings. Oh well... live and learn I guess...
