The first story breaks my heart. What kind of terrible parent dismisses their child's fear and pain and what kind of evil person tortures kids? Genuinely scary.
Reminds me of what I went thru with my dentist. Mine slapped me when I was 9 or 10 because I was so scared, every single time I went to him he would put me thru so much pain and never numbed anything. He claimed to have given me "laughing gas" which was a lie and he would just drill away with zero regards to my pain. Thankfully I never had to have a tooth pulled
Dear Mort, PLEASE more like these. I love the Night Shift, Hospital, ER, Hotel, First Responder and Police stories the best. Also that spectacular long series of Forest Ranger stories, retold by several readers. They have a ring of authority, and are a time capsule to these days and this society.
That story about the fake vet was harrowing and maddening. Not only did this guy harm numerous people psychologically and financially through his fraud and deceit- he also caused injury and death to who knows how many animals. And it's nothing to do with his nationality or geographical location.
I really liked the story of the ghost doctor who helped the author when she was a child. The other stories about the pervy doctors were horrifying and made me feel very grateful that my doctors are always professional.
Ugh the dentist story got me, I had a terrible dentist experience as well where they held me down and pulled out my teeth and ignored me while I screamed and cried. Thankfully my mom believed me though, and I never saw them again.

I can't speak for the rest of the stories, but Dr Daniel was actually real, and is somewhat infamous in the state of Massachusetts. He called himself "the tooth man" and you can find more info on his case, as well as the Yelp horrific reviews from parents and former patients, if you look up his self-given nickname. He was an absolute sadistic monster.
I was listening to the first story. This story brought up the times my sister and I were mistreated in a dentist chair, well when my Dad found out how abusive he was to my sister who was mentally and phyically handicapped. My dad got so angry. We no longer had to go to him. Even now I do not like dentist.
The first dentist was similar to my own, except she didn’t have a house part and never relocated us. Everyone in town now talks about how crazy it is she was in practice for so long. The family in the dr. Ramsey story seems awesome. Everyone there at the ready to do something about it. I hated their situation but loved their family.
I was such a Nerd growing up..I loved going to the Dentist! Wait, I still enjoy visiting the Dentist! We had the same Dr. for yrs & for Everything..Nothing ever Happened, Thank Goodness..These Stories were sooo CREEPY!!
Actually when you have an excruciating toothache you look forward to the pain when they remove it. It's that pain that feels SOOOOOO good!! Ever since then I've not really cared about procedures -- even root canals and oral surgeries! I welcome them.
Both of you are so lucky lol my dentist slapped me and I was scared of dentists before that and watching movies with killer dentists as a child didn't help. So now I'm nearly 40 and still scared lol
Great subject!! I've got a million stories pertaining to most of your subject matter but never thought about sending you one, as much as I do now, after this particular video. The second to last story really makes me feel not so alone.

These stories so freaked me out, I hate going to the dentist and am not to fond of seeing doctors myself. Yet I know my issues go back to a childhood accident.

Never mind Doctors, you know what's really scary -- the waiting room in emergency! You're stuck there for hours & hours & hours & hours, sitting on crappy plastic chairs & watching the same news on the 24 hrs news channel, over & over & over & over...if Hell exists, I guess this could be considered good practice -- but, at the end of it all, you do get to see the Doctor -- for 2 minutes! Truth! When I was 19 (21 years ago) and pregnant with my son. A girl came into the ER obviously having a miscarriage. They let her sit and bleed in a plastic chair in the waiting room. It really left a scar mentally.
@@ThiccChickCrisha -- Emergency is like the anteroom of Hell...@one of our local hospitals, they keep having to kick people out of Emergency, as they're just sitting there using the free wifi -- you don't see many doctors or nurses, but you do see lots of cops & security -- another reason to stay healthy! That first one with doctor dan, im sorry but your mumma knew, no 4th grader gets 6 teeth removed at one time unless your mum was extremely neglectful and let your teeth rot. You mumma knew he was wrong and knew thst it wasnt right, yet she chose to ignore you, your sister, and your concerns and feelings.

LOL talk about coincidence this week has been nothing but a nightmare with my doctors and I just spent an hour writing an email to one of them! A horror story for me😂
I feel you and understand esmerelda. My doctors are acting so unprofessional. Very weird but also coincidence I been talking to them all week long don't even mention the pharmacy was great now horrible both my regular doctor left he was the best really the best 45 minutes to a hour talk what doctor does that .with a room full of patients
That first story was hard to listen to. I, too, was tortured by my dentist when I was very young, although, thankfully, not to that extent, but not too far off. I am still totally terrified of going to the dentist today....and still have a lot of anxiety when I go, even though the dentists are as nice as they can be. Very traumatic.
i had an experiance with a dentist that was similar to the first story, my mom was not allowed in and i still remember two or three nurses holding me down because i was afraid of having a tooth pulled, which was my first, i actually knocked out my first baby tooth on a wall, i never jumped on beds afterward. anyway if my mom was there i would have been fine, but no. my bro ended up swallowing floride mouth wash, and we stopped going to that dentist after that. the actual ordeal was short but the whole thing stuck with me. to the point that i pulled the rest of my loose teeth myself. thankfully the dentists we found after the first were all nice and understanding.
There was a ghost of an old nurse (1970s style uniform) who you'd see walking up and down during night shift (sometimes day shift) walking from the HDU to the ward beds at the Belford in Ft William. Everyone saw her and it was just normal for everyone. The only weird thing was during a night shift when we (working the ward) heard a small child crying. We assumed it was someone in A&E, but then some staff from A&E came to ask if we had a child in one of the 2 paediatric beds. We said no, and then we all went to check the paediatric beds, and that's definitely where the sound was coming from, but it was completely empty, as we knew it would be. That's the only time anyone was creeped out because it had never happened before. Someone in A&E shared that the strangest thing is they'd reported a toddler to social services for suspicious injuries, and after hearing the crying, the debate they'd been having about whether they'd made the right choice or if they'd over reacted had gone, and they were glad they'd flagged it. I don't know if it ever happened again, but it didn't in the few weeks I was there.

god, the dentist was like swenny todd, but my dentist doesnt allow parents in the back. my dentist is normal, so cleanings and fillings/sealants are painless.
Wow! A dentist's office told me they didn't want parents to go back, so I found a new child friendly dentist. What a nightmare for the OP of that first story. I'm so glad his practice was shut down. I really wish he was in prison.

This is making me think of my traumatic experiences at the dentist xD. Apparently I had a really bad experience the last time I went, I have a terrible gag reflex and anxiety, so I do remember biting the doctor a few times in desperation to close my mouth n not gag. I think more happened as my dad insinuates, I'd rather not know how bad it was because I haven't seen a dentist in 11 years. I'm an adult n I'm still scared to see one again.
When I was three years old my dentist strapped me down to his chair while his assistants helped and crowned one of my baby teeth and I was screaming so loud my dad came in before they finished, jeez I really hope that first story isn’t true .
Yes! I am thankful to know that he wasn't an actual doctor like he claimed. I hope he's dead as it seems her dad may have had to take things into his own hands, and no good man should ever be forced to take a life,l. I'm sure if he did, he never lost a second of sleep over it regretting his actions. I just don't know if he's a religious man and if he thinks he might not be allowed in heaven to be with his family in the "after life" because of what he was forced to do. I'm not a believer myself but I am an empath and worry about everyone else's pain (lucky me lol) If he's not dead, I hope he's in prison

My dentist slapped me across my face when I was little. I was so afraid of the dentist and I was only 9 or 10 years old. I'm still scared of the dentist and I'm 38 lol I kicked him in his shin after he slapped me though lol
A few years ago a local dentist found out his wife who was also a dentist was having an affair and he came in one day during business hours and shot and killed her and then killed himself. The dentist office is still open.
