I figured the “ITYTD enjoyer” came from the fact that a lot of modern mapsets go overkill on the monster count with the assumption you’ll be utilizing infighting and pro Doom monster strats. ITYTD thus tends to be a must for casual playthroughs of slaughterwads and other difficult mapsets

As someome who is new to doom and fps in general (I barely played fps before so I'm not very good at it) the "too young to die fan" was very accurate. i seletcted that difficulty and in classic doom i would just run around in circles looking for doors and shooting the demons if i saw them. It might not have been what the clips were trying to show but it looked exactly like what i was doing lol

I play DooM and DooM 2 vanilla style. DooM 64 was played on PC (Brutal DooM) though I did play it on Nintendo 64 as a kid. First DooM was enjoyed keyboard style all the way back in 93. And Wolfenstein 3D before that. But my beard is turning grey so...

Honestly, when I first played Doom and watched people play doom in the 90s, nobody used a mouse. I didn't know one could be used till years later lol. Even after they moved on to other FPS games....when they went back to Doom, it was always without a mouse!
