Proud Pitador owner here. Your assessment on the breed is spot on. Incredibly easy to train and very eager to please. They also possess an athletic physique (unlike pure Labs which can be a little chunky) and are very fast. Couldn’t ask for more in a dog. We absolutely adore our girl.
I have a rescue that I'm thinking more and more to be a Pitador. Beau can RUN! Shiny black coat that when in bright sunlite seems to have silver tipped hairs especialy on feet and legs. Love to watch him run and jump obstacles taller than he is without breaking stride. Sound like your pup?
@@k.laverdiere715 Ours doesn’t have an ounce of aggression in her (though she does bark if strangers come to the door, which we encourage). Very lovable, very loyal. Follows me everywhere. Will even pop up from a deep sleep to follow me to the next room. An absolute sweetheart in every way. True story: I was training her outside the other day and a delivery guy next door stopped for a few minutes to watch the session. Then he came over to me and said, “Now that is a great dog!”
Same here. He was my best friend, he didn’t pass, I just chose to let him stay with the mother and child after a separation. I miss him more than anything everyday
I adopted a pitador and she is the best dog I have ever had she loves my eight-year-old grandson and his wonderful around family members always willing to please, and smart❤
Anything pitbull mixed I leave the dog park right away. I have a golden retriever who has been bloodied up in 2 fights with 2 different pitbulls in the first 3 years. Who do you think started it.
We have a pitador who may or may not think he’s human. He’s a rescue and may be a little over a year old. He’s absolutely hilarious, way too smart fir his own good, and lives The Vince Guaraldi trio! Definitely does not know his strength and is just the funniest little stinker! ❤️
We have a Labrador Terrier mix and she is a 9 Month pup . The sweetest little girl . She is 50 pounds right now and all black with a white chest and white paws . Our first dog and she has bought so much joy to our home So smart and playful and loves to cuddle a night and when she wakes up . She won't even consider getting out of bed in the morning without a good 15 minutes of cuddles and belly and chest rubs
Had a Shepador as my first dog. Coat was exactly as described in this video. Most intelligent dog I have ever owned. Very very mischievous with loads of charm
You totally left out the amazing Mastador! A cross between English Mastiff and Labrador retriever. Very loyal, super smart and very family friendly….. and large & intimidating to anyone having nefarious intentions towards the family.
Became a fist time dog mamma to a borador two years ago and she is a gem! HIgh energy but very smart and a very sweet, amendable personality. Easy to train with MOST things but remains stubborn and one or two areas.
We have a make pitador that we adopted as a 3 month old pup. He is the sweetest most friendliest. He’s a great addition to my other two dogs. But he does love playing with all the neighborhood pups as well
I just got a 6-8 month pitador who’s white with black spots and she’s the kindest dog ever. A lot of energy though so I will have to adjust her play and walk schedule.
We had a Rodesian American Staffordshire terrier mix and she was very intelligent, and had a mind of her own. Once she caught a scent, she was off. We had her for 11yrs until this past December. RIP.
Beautiful Labrador crosses.I have a lovely Labrador x Ridgeback she is a protective dog with a sweet nature always there for her family even though she is a senior girl she is still fun loving and on the go.🤗🐕💕
We have a great Borador from an English farm (live in the UK). Looked like a Border collie but with a smooth coat. She was great, loved long walks, loved to swim, do tricks. Ever so smart, when she was 12 she was attached by another dog. She managed to walk back two miles home before I could and just barked at the door to get let in. She was 18 years old when she passed, a truly great pet and I would recommend having one but be prepared to walk them and play smart games with them. Our one could walk an hour, sleep an hour and go for another hour long walk.
Had a German Sheprador. She was incredible. Totally black with facial features of German Shepherd. Loving and playful like a Lab, but when a stranger would approach the car, look out. She went into K-9 cop mode lol.
We have a pair of Bullydor’s, they are fantastic, American Bulldog/Labrador mix, just great, beautiful, smart, happy, energetic, protective, loving Sentinels.
Just adopted an Aussie lab mix. Not gonna lie she has a ton of energy but I’m loving the good company. She Always gives a bit of laughter to my day even when I should be mad 😂☺️☺️
My 1st Lab was a borador, she was the most intelligent dog I have had, I had to have her put to sleep at 21 years she may have lived a little longer but she was almost blind and had arthritis, so it was the kindest thing to do. After waiting 5 years I got a goldendor, she was the most loving dog I ever had, sadly she died of cancer just before her 10th birthday. After a year, I got another lab, she was a bit nervous of things and suffered with skin disorders from 5 onwards, she got hip displacia at 13 and I sadly had to have her put to sleep. My current lab is from a gun dog stock and is the biggest and strongest I have had, she is easy to train and loving, she will be my last as I am 72 now she is 2. I did have a German Shepard also with my 1st lab, she was gentle and easy to train she sadly got mange at 9 years old, the wasn’t a cure back then. Labs have been my life, I can’t imagine a life without a dog.
WE have an Aussie/Lab mix...our second one as a matter of fact. Not the designer breed, Aussiedore, but the result of a Lab male tagging a female Aussie...aka, mutt. Nevertheless, loved our first one, which made us seek out a second one after she passed. We're pleased with this mix.
I have a springador who is absolutely amazing and loves both of our cats ...the cats adore her too. Occasionally the cats get grumpy with each other at meal time and the dog breaks up any trouble before it gets out of hand. Very clever and super easy to train.
4:29 i had a lab chow mix and he was the best. he never bit anyone in his life. i think it’s funny he don’t really look like other lab chows he was a little more lab i guess. he didn’t have that lion apearence to him. his body tho was full of super thick fluffy chow hair tho. best dogs ever easy to train and are super good with families. i had mine since i was 3 and he passed when i was 17
We have a lab chow mix too. She looks mostly like a lab, the only exceptions are her blue tongue, her tail curves upward and is bushier, and she has the ruff around her neck. She is more reserved and cautious around strangers, but is a loyal, loving and protective member of our family. She has the lab’s webbed paws, but doesn’t like to swim! 😂
my first dog was a borador....she was the best dog ever. Made me get a pure bred border collie and I'm glad I did! anything border collie is fantastic!
My friend has a Cocker spaniel/Lab mix. She's absolutely adorable and is solid black. She's a big lover girl and a goofball. She's only 10 months old so she's still a baby. I just love her. She's my buddy! I knew her since she was little. But she is high energy, so I told my neighbor who is elderly I would be glad to walk her.
You missed one Lab rotti I had 2 they both were females were the best dogs ever very lovable compassionate silly energetic and great guard dog very friendly
I have a Stabyhoun x Labrador mix! He's thin yet muscular in his legs, he's very playful, social, sweet and quiet. Whenever he sees another dog he's gone, he literally has to greet every dog we come across - which can sometimes be annoying..
You can retrain that behavior. I have a guide dog and train guide dogs. It’s very important that we train our dogs to ignore other dogs while on leash or in harness. Dogs should only play with safe and familiar dogs and only off leash. Otherwise you risk creating leash aggression. Most dogs do not like over excited greetings from strange dogs and your dog is going to get a bad reaction from some dog. Better to fix it before there is a big issue created.
We put our dog to sleep today. One of the hardest things we had to do. We decided to bury him at home after leaving the vet. Before getting him out of the car I had two panic attacks. It was one of the worst feelings. I miss my baby. He was over 100 years old, a lab mix. Energy is correct. My baby had so much energy. Amazed me. He was just the sweetest. At least watching this video makes me feel somewhat ok. I don’t know when I’ll get another dog. No one can replace my Duke. The only thing I’m happy about is that he’s not suffering anymore😢 😢
great dogs as I have a borador and use to have an English lab as a work partner. However, they can be very stubborn and loyalty ehhh there only loyal until the next sandwich.
I have a German Shepherd. He is wonderful! 🥰🐾 A mix between a Border Collie, and a Labrador, would be my next dog... I think. So wonderful dogs in this video. I LOOVE BIG DOGS! 😍❤️🐕🐾😍🐕🐾❤️😍🐕🐾
You missed the one that we've had twice. The Rottweilador. Both of these dogs we had were larger and a little more protective than the average pure lab--which we've had as well.
Kelpie X black labrador. I have had two of them. They look similar to the Borador . Smart, but not as active as a Kelpie ( sheep dog) , needs exercise and better is you are with the dog, or have two dogs. Life span 15 years. Tough and few medical issues.
