@PossessedbyHorror I definitely recommend you watching "personal shopper" staring Kristen Stewart I think it's a good ghost movie, and I hope u can make a video review of it. (Sry if my English is bad)
I have been trying to watch a lot of movies you recommend (ones I haven’t seen). I used your code to get Shudder would love a “what’s good in shudder right now” video and also. Looking for a new couch what are your feeling about yours (it’s very nice looking)
1.HELL HOUSE LLC.(2016) 2.ROB ZOMBIE'S HALLOWEEN(2007) 3.MAY(2002) 4.MURDER PARTY(2007) 5.THE HOUSES OCTOBER BUILT(2014) 6.SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK(2019) 7.HAUNT(2019) 8.31(2016) 9.TERRIFIER(2016) 10.GINGER SNAPS(2000)
Speaking of haunted houses when I was about 8 my parents took me to a haunted house put on by college students for a fundraiser and there was another little girl there I befriended in the haunted house and she tagged along with us during the whole thing then she was pulled into an operation room at the end and they "disemboweled" her in front of me...SHE WAS AN ACTOR AND SHE WAS PLAYING MY ASS THE WHOLE TIME. She was about 12 or 13. My parents were kinda upset they took me and I was freaked out for a bit but adult me appreciates it now.
The original Halloween is one I grew up with. I literally saw it when I was 5 and was obsessed ever since. But I also really love Rob Zombie movies. So I guess I’m a rare case of loving both
I don't know if you've seen All Hallow's Eve yet. but that's where Art the Clown made his debut. It has some meh moments but Art definitely shines in that movie! Especially during the credits!
Yes! I had seen that movie and his character had stuck out to me. Whenever I saw the trailer for Terrifier I was SO DAMN EXCITED once it clicked that it was the same character!
Haunt is so good! Refreshing to see “haunted house gone wrong” that’s not found footage (not that I don’t like those movies). The different rooms they encounter had the suspense of a Saw trap without leaning too far into torture p*rn. Instant favorite 🤩 Shudder going hard with these original movies
Most of the people who does Halloween movies list seems to forget and never include the original Night of the Demons, which make it the #1 underrated Halloween movie! It takes place on Halloween night, it’s a fun mix of horror with some comedy, the gore is amazing and it’s just a super fun 80’s movie that is both underrated as a movie and as a Halloween movie. I recommend it and I watch it every year as part of my demons night ( with Demons by Lamberto Bava Of course )
One of my favorite horror movies has got to be American Werewolf in London. The humor is great, the practical effects/makeup is top notch, and in my opinion it’s truly scary. That car crash scene at Piccadilly Circus. Iconic.
OMG, I just watched The Lost Boys for the first time yesterday, and it deserves that cult status. It is soo good. I always love the 70s and 80s horror classics because they're just so fun, and they looked like they were so much fun to make. This is like The Goonies meets pre-Twilight with big hair and shoulder pads. The soundtrack is awesome and full of 80s cheesy goodness too:). If you haven't seen The Lost Boys... Wtf??? Like, it's Halloween month! Go watch it! Lol 😂
I’m so glad that Hell House is finally getting some mainstream love. My friend and I watched it on a whim a couple years ago and we definitely did not expect it to be any sort of good lol - the scares had us screaming a couple times (which is always impressive). It continues to be one of my favorite first watches of all time and one that I always pick when a friend group wants to watch a movie !!
ive been watching horror since the 80s. halloween is such a classic, BUT rob zombie's halloween is my favorite halloween. the houses october built was amazing!
Ginger Snaps is also on Shudder and the Roku Channel for anyone wanting to watch it!! I just thought I’d plug some more places since it’s SUCH A CLASSIC!!! one of my fav movies
Just saw Ginger Snaps for the first time, and I LOVED it. I had only ever heard about it from you, and I’m so glad I took the recommendation. It’s such an original movie with a grunge-y early 2000s vibe. I couldn’t stop thinking about it!
Another newer Halloween horror I don't think many saw, but I greatly enjoyed as a fun homage to 80's slashers, was Hell Fest! It's one I'd see people discovering and maybe growing an appreciation for (especially during Halloween time).
I completely agree with you on Rob Zombie's Halloween - it's darker (not "campy") and I really appreciate that you get the back story on Michael Myers.
the Ginger Snaps trillogy is epic honestly one of the best horror movie trillogies of all time tbh. Love how its two girls/ladies starring . A must watch.
This movie isn't considered a Halloween movie but the one movie I always find myself watching on halloween the past few years is Most Likely To Die. Its definitely a fresh idea in the slasher sub-genre and its pretty entertaining. A lot of people won't enjoy it but I consider it to be a hidden gem lost in the slasher genre. Its free on Tubi right now if anyone wants to see it.
@@Rita-ie7it Theres a ton of good and a ton of bad on Tubi. I can give you a list of movies I have watched and enjoyed on Tubi: Most Likely To Die Truth Or Dare (2017) The Crazies Nine Dead Dead Awake All Hallows Eve Dead End Viral The Facility The Hoarder The Collector Sleepaway Camp Re-Animator The Uninvited The Descent Better Watch Out Don't Hang Up Theres a ton more, I just dont want to make too long of a list.
I absolutely love Hell House LLC. It was so good that I added a physical copy of the extended cut to my horror collection. I watched the sequels on Shudder and I didn't think they were as good as the first. Also, Ginger Snaps was another great movie. I saw it on Shudder not too long ago and last time I checked it was still on the platform.
Hell House LLC is so underrated! It's my fave found footage movie! The sequels are equally as wonderful! It's not all spooky music and jump scares. It's genuinely creepy! It's such a well done film! 💀🦇🎃
@@katfromdenver Yea there's 3 total. The first one is definitely my favorite! The second one takes a little bit to get good. It explains a lot about the whole main storyline is why I like it. I think the third one was my least favorite.
I saw this earlier today and thought about how I really wanted to re-read some of the Scary Stories stories before I saw the movie but I don’t have any of the books, then I found the Scary Stories Treasury at goodwill this afternoon! ✨manifestation✨
This is so awesome because I literally have not seen a single movie on this list!! I think some of them might genuinely scare me, which is increasingly hard to do. The last horror I've seen was this very short (less than an hour long), but nonetheless cool little movie, about a seance gone wrong. It's called The Host and it happens entirely in a zoom chat. Not everyone's cup of tea, I know, but I liked it. Such a cool cat chillin' back there on the couch btw!
My favorite Halloween movies are Hocus Pocus, Trick r Treat, Halloweentown. I also love Ginger Snaps, I saw it for the first time last year and loved it! Other movies I tend to watch every year are Nightmare on Elm Street 1-3, Sleepy Hollow, The Witches, and an anime film called Kakurenbo Hide and Seek. It's a 20 minute short film about a group of kids that play hide and seek with demons. They think it's a game, but it becomes very real very quickly.

I recently saw the houses october built! I thought it was so boring and character reactions and descicionsmade no sense. Anyways if youre looking for this kind of movies Hell House LLC is definetly a better option. Or if you like cheesy slashers Hell Fest was good!
the thing i really love about Guillermo is his embrace of camp but i also dig his sincerity ; i never feel like the conceit of a film or the characters in one are the butt of a joke - when he makes a movie about a woman falling in love with a fish-man, he doesn't ridicule the concept.
Check your local Dollar Tree around this time - lots of horror titles... this is where I found Murder Party after you mentioned it in one of your recent vids.
I actually just rewatched Ginger Snaps recently, it's easily one of my favorite horror movies. I didn't remember it being a Halloween movie until I rewatched it though, that just made it all the better to see for the October season.
i think they're all fun, but i kinda feel they went on a fairly steady downward trajectory - 1 was better than 2 which was better than 3. but they're all really good fun, & the first one in particular has some truly intense moments.
Stumbled across your 'Sinister' review from years ago in my old "favourites" playlist, got some nostalgia going (especially as I re-watched 'Sinister' the other day) and then remembered that I stopped watching content from this channel after being turned off by your review of 'The Neon Demon' - pretty sure I'd still be turned off today but I probably wouldn't be as harsh and stop watching your content all together due to one review. Ah well, glad to see you still doing your thing. I've been having a great time watching horror films this Halloween season and the cosy vibe you seem to be promoting with this channel is one I'll always be fond of
I recommend Trick or Treat. Which I thought was fun and captured that whole Halloween atmosphere. Also, Lucio Fulci's City of the Living Dead. (a k a The Gates of Hell)
Is that Trick or Treat (1986), or Trick 'r Treat (2007)? Because Trick 'r Treat is the best Halloween movie I've ever seen, and Trick or Treat is a melted balls on baked pubes sandwich.
Murder party was on Netflix when I watched it and glad I went for it despite my skepticism In the beginning. Also, the houses October built actually left me a little unsettled. Very well done. Also, love these videos as I love trying out movies new to me.
Loving what you said about Rob Zombie's Halloween! I grew up with the Halloween franchise, but absolutely love Rob Zombie's version. I will definitely watch the films on this list that I haven't seen yet. Thanks for recommending them.
It may not be considered super underrated at this point, considering its cult following, but Trick 'r Treat is my all time favorite Halloween movie ever...
I freaking LOVE Hell House LLC! I also VERY much like the Houses October Built ...and TERRIFIER has my absolute FAVORITE horror character-of-all-time, ART!
Great video! I'm definitely going to watch some of these movies! Plus passed out kitty on the couch made me smile lol the little foot in the air is too cute!
I'm glad to see someone else that likes Rob Zombie's Halloween. A lot of people complain that it should keep Michael evil for the sake of evil. But that movie already exists. The two worst kinds of remakes are doing the exact same thing as the original or being so far removed from the original that it's just piggybacking off the popularity of the title. Halloween tells the same story in a different way, and for that, I appreciated it
I’ve NEVER heard anyone talk about the movie May! It was my first taste of off-the-wall horror. Seriously changed my life. I just recently learned that the lead from May also played Carrie in the made for tv version. (Thanks to DeadMeat.)
Night of the Demons 1 and 2 are super fun Halloween horror-comedies. Also May and Ginger Snaps are two of my fave horror movies too. I gotta check out Tubi now!
Your cat is such a cutie! I was really surprised by how effective Hell House was. It genuinely gave me the creeps and that’s not something that happened very often. I’ve been avoiding The Houses October Built because for some reason I thought it was Incident in a Ghostland? Maybe because of the doll and the spooky looking house lmao. Who knows but I’ll add it my list now. Hopefully I enjoy that more than Ghostland
Omg my fave horror gal featuring one of my fave horror films! I always recommend Hell House LLC to others it’s so good and underrated! Also I’m pretty sure it’s on Amazon Prime UK currently as well for anyone who’s going to use the VPN!🎃👻🔪
just finished watching HAUNT and JESUS CHRIST, it’s so f*cked up !One of the best halloween films I have ever watched,I was fraught the whole time. Didn’t expect the monsters . Disturbing and uncomfortable. I give a 9/10!
Hey Sarah! Can you do an updated “top picks on shudder” id love to hear your take on some of their new exclusive content as well as any movies/ TV shows you’ve been watching on there! love your channel so much 🖤🖤
i wasn’t an 80s-90s kid, so i wasn’t around when scary stories to tell in the dark were coming out, but i did read all of them when i was in middle school because my english teacher had them on her bookshelf, and they traumatized me, like they literally had me looking around corners when i got home from school because i was so scared of the pictures. but i’d say i’m fairly desensitized to horror by now lol.
A great list. The only one I haven’t seen is scary stories to tell in the dark. You should really check out the houses October built 2 and the other hell houses. Both on streaming platforms.
I love this take on Rob Zombie’s Halloween! So many Halloween fans I know, even some who are fans of other Rob Zombie movies don’t like it. I love it. I think it’s like it’s own Halloween franchise. I love John Carpenter’s too, but for different reasons. I don’t really think you can compare them to an extent, which a lot of people do. It’s like a “Rob or John” type of thing when they’re both great in their own ways.
