All I ask for in 2024 is better controller support for most of these games. Its so frustrating as someone who is forced to use controllers due to chronic pain issues. Some games are very good with it, like stardew , coral island and the "my time at" games. But for every farming game with good controller support there are 2 with bad support. Sun Haven is still to this day awful and most of the games that go early access wait till the end to do controller support and then the support is awful, because it isnt baked in at all. Like what happened to Sun Haven. its the reason its still not on switch. The early access games that DO have it, have really awful controls. I dont know why I am choosing your channel to rant about this but whats done is done lol. Nice vid.
I absolutely can't wait for Chef Rpg! I watched almost all the dev logs and it's insane how much work and love he poured into this - I really recommend looking into his channel (Pixel Architect). I am also pretty excited for Farlands, I just have a weird love for sci-fi farming games :)
Thanks so much for mentioning Farlands in your video, Josh! Addressing your comments: The video you showed is a teaser we put together half a year ago for Gamescom, and it was VERY early in development. We now have a lot of new planets, creatures and "space stuff" that we can't wait to show you all. I hope you'll give it a chance when Early Access arrives :D
Uhmmm as a tea enthusiast - of course I'm all hyped for teatopia. Finally I can create a functioning (!) tea farm and not just a fake one like I usually do in my other games haha. Thank you, Josh, for including information on multiplayer, too! Cozynauts and Worldshards look exactly what my husband and I like to play together 😍 Other than that I'm really interested in Trade Tales and Elusive People. Never heard of those before but they look so fun! Tbh Trade Tales could easily become addictive I think!
Hi, big thx for showing Chinese Frontiers here, we're glad that you found the game interesting! :) doing our best to launch the game, best for you Josh from the whole devteam!
Elusive People reminds me of a book series my 1st grade teacher read to us, “The Littles,” where tiny humanoids live in a house dodging cats, mice, and go on adventures. Sounds like a unique twist to turn the concept into a crop growing style game 🤔. Also, those Trade Tales large chibi looking heads just scream Magical Melody to me lol
Have definitely not heard of Trade Tales before! It has gone straight onto my wishlist and I will be keeping an eye on it. Looks perfect fir me 😁. Also really interested in Teatopia. Love the art style and hoping if there is any combat, it's got options for making easier or avoiding. Combat is always an issue for me as it can trigger anxiety, which is why I will be avoiding some games on this list. Thanks for the great video! So informative as always ❤
can't wait for Trade Tales! I've been eyeing their project for a while then i found their facebook, they recently revealed that there'll be a city and I'm all hyped up for it!
I love your take on Trade Tales, definitely a point to mention how its super similar to top farm sim games and developed by a solo dev. Definitely the type of indie game to support. Wishlisted, thanks for your video!
❤🧑🏽🦳☕️🎮 hello 👋🏼 josh! I love the gaming stream n play thru, but I’m hoping for more farming games to come to Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Oled n Nintendo Switch II , I don’t have a SteamDeck console and until those consoles come 😢down in prim I’m left out of all the new games coming out in 2024 . I just want say happy new year to you and hoping you can bring news of new farming games for Nintendo Switch,Nintendo Oled & Nintendo Switch II, keep bring the news for the new cozy farming games. Your follower Laetittia 🧑🏽🦳🎮☕️
That's chef rpgs old trailer there's been much more new stuff happened since then the game looks better and you forgott to mention its made by a REAL ARCHITECT and he uses his architect knowledge to make the game art beutiful and logichal. I LOVE his dev vlogs. Its THE anticipated game and I can't figure out for the life of me why you never include it. Also there will be a bit farming.
I don't trust CHIBIG. I don't think there was enough content in summer in Mara, it really felt like there should have been more. Some other titles they've made feel the same, I'm not purchasing any more of their titles unless they're really low priced on sale.
Elusive people is just like Smalland, smalland is a gem no one has noticed about. Its new and it was in the making even before grounded...and smalland you are like elves and you can ride squirrels and stuff etc. Look it up!
Thank you for speaking about your concerns regarding the potential translations of some of these games, Josh. As you know, I work in videogame localization and the past two years have been an absolute nightmare regarding all kinds of companies (both triple A & indie) who seem to be under the impression that they could simply run their game texts through a machine translation tool and call it a day; sometimes to the extent that UI texts are utterly indecipherable and riddled with mistranslations. That's particularly tricky when working with games from China, Korea or Japan... So here's to hoping the AI fad within the gaming sphere may soon come to an end and people will finally be willing to pay for professional language services again, instead of trying to cut corners every single turn 🤞
i'm loving these restaurant rpgs! i wish chef rpg could come out sooner but i know the devs are making sure the quality is just right, like what the omori devs did
@@JoshGamingGarden I'd also be really interested to hear your opinion on Sunnyside by RainyGames! One of its huge features is that farming is supposed to be super realistic.
I talked about Sunnyside in a few videos. Overall I'm interested, the alpha I played a while back was a bit clunky but I think it had great ideas! I'm also interested in their card-based battle system that they added.
Hey! There is one you missed. It's called Tales of Seikyu. They just got fully funded on Kickstarter but have been in development since 2021. They are also releasing this year into early access. The game actually has tons of promising aspects and the team behind seem to really care about it.
Thanks for this, mostly interested in Chef RPG, Kibu and Elusive People from this one, but several others were added to my wishlist if not already there ^^
Most monitor setups and screen resolutions are wider than they are taller! Rusty's Retirement will just cut off that precious vertical space. Would be great on a secondary portrait oriented monitor I guess?
I am hoping to take things a lot more easy this year, so I am glad none of these really picked my interest. Regardless, for when these games do come out, I hope they play well and that people enjoy them.
I've been super excited for Chef RPG for months and months so it's nice to see you cover it! Teatopia looks really chill and Trade Tales has some really fun mechanics I love the idea of if they can pull it off! When you mentioned how you liked the idea of running a restaurant in Chef RPG made me think that you might enjoy Travellers Rest if you haven't played it before? It's absolutely incredible and it's still only in early access, but they release regular updates and it's so addictive. Definitely recommend it to you and any other cosy gamers!
I love Travellers' Rest! I'm not that far into it (maybe around 10 hours?), but I've been loving all the content that came in each update. I'll probably wait for the full release to really get into it though!
Hello josh! Thanks for all the games information. I'm interested in a new upcoming game called Tales of Seikyu, I thought it's one of Tales series (JRPG), but turns out it's a cozy game! The trailer is interesting so far, you should check it out if you can!
There is one farming game that I haven't seen on many channels. I think its s called Tales of Seikyu. I admit I clicked it because I'm a huge Tales series fan. It looks like I game I think you would like.
