Fun fact: Talisman of Binding Shard is also the only neck item in the game that is visible when you wear it (it is displayed as an actual necklace on your character).

The info on Dirges cooking recipe is a bit incorrect. You could get it for doing the questline up until it was removed on Cata launch. The questline was not removed after the event completed, unless there was a change to put it back again at some point.

What really blows me away about the Chromatic Sword is hearing that it sells for lots of gold - because I had one of those on my Death Knight. I'd walk around with it and NOBODY cared. In fact... I COULDN'T EVEN SELL IT! I had it up for 60g or something back in the day, and nobody bought it. So, in hindsight foolishly, I bound it to my character, and sadly at some point it got sold to a vendor.... So what this means is nobody would have bothered to farm it, EXCEPT once they found out it was going away.

The Scepter of the Shifting Sands quest chain was removed in Cataclysm, so Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops Recipe was available for 4 YEARS, not just until the opening of the gates of Ahn'Qiraj. Hardly a "very very short" time window.

I got the big love rocket, it dropped for me last year!, awesome mount and I finally got the headless horseman’s mount and the tol’vir archaeology mount too!

a small suggestion for a future video,could you go over the items that were only available in the game for a short period of time,before they were gone forever,for some examples:the items that dropped from "Lord blackwood" when the first scourge invasion occurred( the prelaunch event to level 60 naxxramas)he was a special boss inside scholomance that was short lived just like the guy for the arcanite ripper,while we are on the topic of Naxxramas,how about the zone drops that were never recirculated back into the game and have completely unique appearances,just to name a few "Necro-Knights Garb" the robe that dropped from zone trash shares the same model of robe that Noth the plaguebringer is wearing,and "Misplaced Servo Arm",this also dropped from zone trash in OG naxx it was supposedly the arm model from Grobbulus,The Shield that dropped from 'Patchwerk' "The Plague Bearer" this shields appearance resembles the giant bulwark doors leading in and around the construct quarter in naxxramas,and lastly for Naxx The Staff that dropped from Kel'thuzad "Soulseeker" this staff should be legendary for how awesome is looks anyone who has kept it without vendoring it over the years is very lucky to own this appearance,and the very final thing i know this is a very long post but this is the last thing,the armor sets that were only available during the second scourge invasion(WOTLK invasion event aka the launch event when you could infect others with the plague),these armor sets were bought through collecting currency by killing undead lieutenants and basically stopping any threat dropped by the mini Naxx space ships that would drop off undead,or something like that,it was very similar to the Legion pre launch event,but in this case the armor sets from the vendor were completely removed from the game after the event was over,you may see a few people with them mogging around,notably the paladin T2 recolor it isn't officially listed anywhere,but you can see it worn by one Npc ingame;"Justicar Julia Celeste",not sure if the helm exists,i don't remember the details,but i just wanted to share this for perhaps an interesting video idea,you don't have to give me credit,but if you could go over some of these types of items,it would be amazing topic for discussion.

I remember farming the Pendulum of Doom for my lvl 39 Warrior Twink. Was rare back then (TBC) so it took quite some time to get. Was so fun to crit a cloth guy for 1k+ when they had under 3k HP total. People started running when they saw you

I've thoroughly enjoyed every one of your videos. I always like knowing of an item, or even being able to say I'm the proud owner of one. I actually still use the Zulian Slicer as my skinning knife.

After farming every single year since it was added in game I finally got The Big Love Rocket this year. I nearly had a heart attack when I realized it dropped, I thought it was just the fireworks item at first and only realized because of how big items appear in guild chat when you loot them now.

I've got the recipe for thistle tea in my bank and still have my Corrupted Ashbringer.

The dirge chimaera chops were tied to the aq line but were available longer than the opening. Just pointing that out.

I was able to buy Thistle tea at the Ravenholt manor. Not sure who i got it from in there but i got it just a few days ago.

there was a vendor along the river in South shore i know for fact that sold the thistled tea recipe but that was back in BC or wrath i cant remember

Baron Rivendare's mount is one you didn't cover there is also a vampire bat pet that i believe is unobtainable now. Dont remember when they took the bat out but i believe they took the mount out when they moved Rivendare to Nax

Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops recipe was not only obtainable during the opening of AQ event. It was a guaranteed reward during the quest chain, which was removed with the pre- Cataclysm patch. It was rare because few people were willing to do such a long and expensive quest chain. I did it after the event myself. I honestly think it's a shame that it, along with other very long quest chains (T0,5 upgrade and the Onyxia attunement for example) was removed. Even if few people did it, it was a unique experience I enjoyed immensely. Nothing like it exists in retail WoW today.

I used to play back in vanilla, quit the game shortly after BC came out. I remember being super poor and buying skills/mounts super late because I couldn't afford them. After seeing a bunch of your videos about vanilla items and rare items I started wondering what my old stuff would be worth nowadays. I clearly remember having the chromatic sword with the kinda rainbow-y effect on it, but as I was a kid back then I probably sold it for next to nothing on the AH or vendored it. So I did it, I reactivated my account and logged on my level 62 shaman, opened my bags, and laughed at my 140 gold. I ended up selling some extra gear I had in my bank, with prices varying between 1k and 30k gold, which seem to be normal nowadays for blue items? But then I found a sword that I couldn't find on the auction house. It was a decent blue 1 handed with a chance to dodge or something and after some research in the undermine journal I found out it was somewhat rare, and selling for 100k-400k in some servers. I don't know what I'm gonna do with it yet but I'm glad I didn't vendor it back then. Thank you MadSeason for the nostalgia and making me reactivate my account ^^

I regret selling Chromatic Sword on my warrior back in late vanilla, I also had the Jackhammer on my resto druid as a newbie in Vanilla, It dropped off dwarves outside Uldaman I remember. I had a second Jackhammer I sold for 30g lol

Also, the legendary neck was the only neck with a visual effect ingame I believe.

Pendulum of Doom used to be level 39. With it's really slow speed it was super for enhancement shamans, but also for warriors of course. The drop to level 35 happened later.

Dude in my guild had 99 max level characters, most of them DK's, across 2 accounts. He ran SFK during the Love is in the Air event everyday in 2016 and didn't get the Love Rocket. He finally got it during the Love is in the Air event this year.

I want to add something to Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops. You are wrong, the time Window was not short, you could still get it in Wrath of the Lichking, it was taken out with Cataclysm when they took out allot things(like Rhok'delar and the Priest Staff quests from MC). Also for the Mount, you also needed to get a *ton* drops, guilds had to farm and *one* Person would turn it in. So not only Raid Bosses.

Good stuff - speaking of "rare" items, recently I was looking through alts to DELETE to make room for another to start up and happened upon a seldom used Orc that had a "Gutrender" sword tucked away in his bank. Now unobtainable, and going for about a million. Needless to say 'ol Kago from Kirin Tor was allowed to live another day so that I could put this very rare item on the AH every 48 hours. Still there, and available to purchase.

I managed to buy a Papal Fez two years ago for 500g and forgot about it until a few weeks ago and managed to sell it for 8,6 million gold ^^ Hadn't been seen on the server since i bought it two years ago.

When you own none of the rare items mentioned on any list ever and realize you’re not special.

Just a note: Pendulum of Doom used to be even better, with 4.00 speed and 39 level requirement (44 ilvl, with DPS being also proportionally higher). This was nerfed at some point post Wrath.
