This girl is just not good must take too much time to actually do the job. This is the second one i have watched and it is better (not saying much). @whatculture you need to pin this comment for doing YOUR JOB.
@@Kragoth86 I hated the ending, especially if you do the side quest where Thomas Elliot is revealed to look exactly like Bruce Wayne. Why bother having that if you aren't going to pay it off later in the game...like say using Thomas to discredit Dr. Crane.
@@rosssnyder4490 i agree, its too close to Hush, that idea was already done with him and much better IMO. It almost seems like an idea that just was either forgotten about or not thought out. There were a lot of problems with Arkham Knight.
@@revrichardrickyhiggins9272 it's about the evolution of mankind to the next stage through the Accumulation of the knowledge of the truth. As you learn more of the true nature of the world which is Lovecraftian in nature, the player slowly becomes more insane as this is not how we normally would perceive our reality and your experience of the game changes and you start seeing and hearing more. You could argue that this hidden ending is actually the good ending because you have ascended past the constraints of humanity and become something more in the scene where you're transformed into the infant great one.
The Great One ending is the evolution of mankind. The player is reborn and evolved past the beastly nature of being human, hinted at the werwolf reaching out to you in the opening cutscene, into a Great One. Through the 3 umbilical cords, the player has achieved what the founders of the Church and School (can’t remember their names) could not. That’s a wonderful ending and not insulting at all.
@@revrichardrickyhiggins9272 Mankind has a guardian among the Old Ones, they will be at the very least less hunted by their minions as the human race are the new one's minions (whether they know it or not).
They do that all the time and I don't know why it's so hard for them to handle. They constantly say "Spoiler Ahead, see description" and then have nothing in the Description... Although thankfully this time though, they just say the title of the game so you can stop and skip ahead if you need to. The videos with the spoilers in the cards are the annoying ones...
@@tippy2k2 Well, in fairness to them, if they spent time updating the description with spoilers, they wouldn't have time to crowbar in a mispronounciation or to talk about the same ten games/films they always talk about... Oh wait, that's right...
@@michaell4712 Well, the endings are generally explained as you go throughout the game, so there isn't much to wonder except for the implications that the endings might have on the world from a lore point. The endings are also vague in a way, so that each player can come up with their own conclusion to the fragmented story. Bloodborne: You ascend to godhood by becoming a Great One yourself. This is something the Choir has been attempting to do since the founding of the Blood Ministration. Normally the Great Ones cannot understand humans from their perspective, so by ascending, you are achieving something that has never happened before in the world and the possibilities are endless. Dark Souls: Like Gwyn before you, you burn yourself within the First Flame to extend the Age of Fire (Gods), your powerful Soul acting as fuel, used to delay the arrival of the Age of Dark (Man). You are a tool of the gods to extend their decaying age and to foolishly deny the Cycle in its rightful continuation. This Deception is the reason why the End of the World is consumed in Ash, hidden by a beautiful illusion of false comfort, and the world as a whole was made lesser by this First Sin.
I feel like a lot of people who want to jump in on the Soulsborne hype don't even look at item descriptions or check bookcases while playing the game. Then complain about not liking the endings because they don't fully understand whats going on
Hmmm Bloodborne's secret ending was alluring that the cycle could possibly be broken with the new incarnation you become being able to truly change things I am pretty sure. For Crash Bandicoot Warped, the secret ending was just a nice little laugh for people to have, Crash games are known to have insanely difficult collection items through the games and them adding a secret ending was just one you could giggle at after going through absolute hell, it wasn't supposed to be a teaser or game changing cutscene.
I don't know why Bloodborne or Nocturne are on here. Both endings are pretty badass, in Bloodborne like you said it it hints at the cycle being stopped or possibly restarting with you taking the Moonpresences placce. As for SMT the True Demon ending in Nocturne is probably the most satisfying ending in the game. The rest all create worlds where one of the other characters believes the world should be a very specific way, not only is it a case of who are they to make that decision but the endings of those paths are pretty lackluster. At least you get the badassery of being Lucifers right hand man and going into battle with heaven in the TDE...like, how is that not cool?
@@Adam-zw1ck do you think everyone just listens to RU-vid while sitting in front of their computer doing nothing else? Sometimes you're on RU-vid driving, working, or gaming and they're halfway through a spoiler by the time you can get your hands on the screen. Not sure why you're defending this its objectively poor practice on their part.
Bloodbornes ending disappointing? Quite the opposite. That is of course if you have payed any attention to the game, like you know, the first thing you find tells you, that this is the exact aim of the whole journey. "Seek paleblood to transcend the hunt" You do just this, while hunting any possible opposition to your power. And where it should go from there? You transcend. You wanted to understand more? That's the whole point, we can't do that. We don't understand these beings in the first place.
As a big fan Jak & Daxter The Precursor Legacy, that 100% ending was SO lackluster (and yet I've gotten it 3 times on 3 consoles, cuz I love that game) Glad to know someone else remembers it too.
@@otakutsukonko yeah, I didn't have the chance to play the first one when I was younger, only part 3, so in the last month or so I bought the collection on ps4. Worked super hard on the way playing through the first one and was super excited to see the secret ending. I would of been fine with there not being one, but having one being there and it be that, was infuriating. Though I will admit, I skipped ONE orb (screw those blue rings you are supposed to ride through)
Sir Daniel Fortesk? Yuka Yuka? WC can you please hire someone who has actually played a video game and knows what they're talking about? Rather than just picking someone to read from a script and guessing at the pronunciation of words? Lets face it this video isn't the first time something like this has happened...I'm sorry Jess, I'm sure you're a lovely person but I don't think you're right for this channel. The editor has done you dirty in the past and including footage of you literally just reading from your phone. This channel needs someone who is enthusiastic about gaming, not someone to sit in a room and read from a script.
I feel they sorta missed the point with TDE in Nocturne. It’s the ending which has you most aligned with chaos, which is the strongest faction of Nocturne, which is why Chiaki is at the highest spot on the tower of kagetsuchi
@@andylevant6247 Didn't Nocturne start off with the end of the world? With the plot being you're going to determine what sort of place the new world God plans to create will be.
@@nilsl8168 I wouldn't be that harsh lol but I will say, for the majority it seems that she hasn't played many she covers. Most of the time she refers to other player's experiences or general censuse from groups more than own experiences. I hope she gets to cover some lists where she has played the games though ^.^
Eternal Darkness's true ending was bloody brilliant! Rock beats Paper beats Scissors to let Dynamite Reign supreme. You wanted a happy ending in a next best thing to a true Lovecraftian horror? Nah, Hail Mantorok!
Sir Daniel Fortesk....Yooka-Yooka....yup, it's a Whatculture video all right. for the record, Fortesque is pronounced for-tess-cue and Uka-Uka is ooka-ooka.... and I didn't mind Eternal Darkness's true ending....other than the fact Nintendo hasn't gotten a sequel made yet.
Because we haven't heard about that one over and over again. Why do you want to hear about the ME3 endings AGAIN? I feel like a list/creator brings them up twice a week.
@@thiefofhyrule8000 Agreed. Plus concerning the current whining concerning the ME: Legendary Edition has the ones doing the whining stating "They should've changed ME3's ending so it's actually good." Not realizing that changing the entirety of ME3's ending would've resulted in having to rewrite the entire final Battle of London sequence including making new cutscenes, and new dialogue to go with said massive rewrite, resulting in another delay, and the high chance of the team at EA, and Bioware scrapping both ME: Legendary, and the next mainline ME game and just do a remake/soft-reboot of the entire OG ME Trilogy.
For Arkham Knight, you have to know Batman comics. That's Azrael, Jean-Paul being the successor to the Bat as happened in the comics after Bane broke Bruce's back. There are shout-outs to other Batman comics in this as well, as in all Arkham games. The idea of Batman pulling a fake or possibly real sacrifice play and Alfred dying into the bargain was explored in Frank Miller's _The Dark Knight Returns_ and also involved hitting Ye Olde Self-Destruct of the Batcave and Wayne Manor sitting atop it.
The very first game that crossed my mind when I saw this video title -- Far Cry 5 -- isn't in the video. My theory: WhatCulture just didn't want to traumatize us even more by bringing it up.
I feel like a handful of these endings were meant to leave the story open-ended so that they can make a secondary game to the title or expand from that title
Yes. Weak and dying, he orchestrates the deaths of all other gods, leaving none after his own death, effectively ending the darkness plaguing mankind. The *real* insult is unlocking the extra mode that removes the Sanity Meter - the best part of the game.
Every time I play through bloodborne I always do the secret ending since it’s my favorite because it’s left to player to wonder what the hunter will do now that it’s a great one
Don't understand how "leading the charge on the front lines and happening to get sniped" and "cowardly" are the same thing to whoever wrote this script
To be perfectly honest. I still find myself salty at the ending of Mass Effect III. Not so much for the sheer ludicrous impossibility of stiletto-heel punting the cloyingly infuriating Star Brat off the Citadel but of what the infamous three choices represent. The Red Ending is annoying because it blatantly glosses over the fact that you just obliderated not only Joker's insanely hot Bionic Girlfriend .. Oops .. but I will wager the Geth would be a little bit annoyed at risking so much to defeat one genocidal species only to be genocided out of existence by the otherspecies they were recruited to save .. Double Oops. The Blue Ending is irritating because it basically means the Reapers get what they want .. bearable but insulting. The Green Ending ends up violating the body integrity of literally everything despite their wishes or choice turning everything into weirdly glowing techno-organic ......things .... I can just imagine the mass suicides from all the purists in the entire galaxy. ....and in the end one is still denied that one slide that was needed of Shepard surviving this mess and mourning over the grave of her lizard man space boyfriend. That last irritated me personally the most of all.
Someone didn't do the research. Beware the spoilers underbreath: Bloodborne: Actually this ending makes a lot of sense. You became the great one and took over the hunter's dream, thus ending the endless nightmare. Metal Gear Solid V: People keep forgeting that five part was a giant prequel and had to start the gears of the future events such as born of the Venom Snake and there was no better way to do it.
his name is spoken a couple of times in the game, how did she mess that up so bad? hell, how did everyone at Whatculture mess up name prononciations for movies tv shows and video games all the time when they are spoken correctly in them? it's either their British accents preventing them from saying those names right or they have bad hearing lol
Assassins Creed Valhalla. You go through all that effort to take out all the targets and the final target basically goes' here take the medallion I don't want it any more, peace out'
Including bloodborne is dumb. What more do you want than ascending beyond humanity? The goal every character in the game is seeking. Just shows you turned your brain off and played it as a dungeon crawler
to be fair, there WAS a good ending where Fox and Krystal settled down together and had a son who eventually spearheaded a new Star Fox team. But yeah, most of them were complete crap.
I honestly didn't feel Punk'd or shorted with that msgV ending. I thought it was genius and I personally loved it as a player getting it without it being spoiled to me first. My head had been spinning all game trying to find those few missing pieces and then it all clicked
Dying LIghts The Following endings. 1 you end up blowing up the town (which you specifically avoid in the main game) or you become the zombie. The second ending is the true ending, but I would've liked a true hero option.
Bloodbourne: It makes sense and has a good ending if you believe the Moon Presence isn't evil, or operating on behalf of some great evil goal. Which i do kinda believe. The great ones are a mixed bag, like people.
They say it’s hard to get the Bloodborne’s secret ending, but it’s honestly not. As long as you pay attention and explore everywhere, you can get the umbilical cords pretty easily.
Dan Fortesque's surname is pronounced "Fortes-kew" clearly in game and "Fortes-kay" by the skeleton (once) in the Medieval opening. It's not pronounced "For-tesk".
SAO: Fatal bullets True ending is a bit annoying to me cuz you have too Beat Kirito Mode (unlocked near the end of the game) Get at least Affinity level 2 with all the original characters and max Affinity with the new one characters (except DLC characters) See all cutscenes with the said new characters Get the Afasis Pendant (unlocked after kirito mode and getting the Affinity level stuff done) Then beat the final boss, stopping him from using his One hit kill attack cuz someone will die Choose your characters best friend for it, which is hard in its self but you unlock kirito mode after clearing The Glochen ship near the end but you need the Afasis pendant before the final boss there which means you have to do all that, then beat kirito mode, watch one of the characters you grown attached to die permanently (if you seen SAO or played and got the true ending, you know why) then rewind time to get said pendant, then go all the way to the final boss, you know you have done this cuz the quest will be called "Fatal Bullet" but here is the kick in the balls, you still have to stop the boss from using his one hit kill attack which is really difficult cuz you need to do a amount of damage in a short time to stun him but the ending itself is a happy ending, but if you dont want to do the true ending wanna do the story DLC after the events well too fucking bad cuz the DLC take place after and im not fucking joking, AFTER THE TRUE ENDING, which means if you wanna experience the DLC properly, you have to complete these feet and every time you fail, you have to rewind time back to the end of The Glocken and do the story from there but luckily you don't have to do the bullshit with the Affinity systems and if you bought the Complete edition full game or Upgrade, you get a option to double the amount of Affinity you get, thats very fucking helpful when the problem wasn't the Affinity, it was the final fucking boss fight that has a one hit kill move that you need to stop him from doing
That ending of Medievil 2 was because they planned to make a sequel where you have to travel through time. So while the ending wasn't great, it would have made more sense if Medievil 3 was released. I actually liked Arkham Knight's ending, the fact that that could be Batman or not. But would Bruce Wayne really blow himself up in his own home?
Super Mario Sunshine's 100% completion reward is...awful. In Super Mario 64, you got to meet Yoshi and fly around the castle grounds, and in Super Mario Galaxy, you got to play as Luigi. In Super Mario Sunshine, you got a postcard at the end of the credits. No in-game reward, not even a cool cutscene, just a picture. To add insult to injury, getting all Shine Sprites meant finding all the blue coins, some of which were hidden in such obscure places that you -needed- a guide to find them. And you get close to nothing for it. Utter trash!
if you thought the crash 3 ending was a insult then do go for 106% on crash 4. the 100% ending i'll say is worth it, but the 106% is just a slap in the face. like just youtube 106%. SPOILERS SPOILERS FOR 106% cortex is on the beach, and uka uka appears laughing evilly, and fade to black. yup after all those insanely perfect relics you get that ending.
My very first time beating Arkham Knight was the True ending. I've also collected everything in those games, so it was very interesting to see that happen
4:43 nope, wrong. At least as far as I'm concerned, and I obviously can't speak for others, but I found the true ending of BloodBorne to be incredibly satisfying.
If I remember correctly, you actually have to beat Eternal Darkness 4 times, at least once with each artifact, all on the same save to get the true ending.
Yo, is this a top 10 video for the games or just a highlight video for the narrator. Use cut aways of the game. U dont do the same amount of cut aways to the narrator when its anyone else. I swear it felt like I saw a clip of the narrator at least once per entry
Maybe and this is just a suggestion but maybe pair the “spoiler alert” with a list of the entries that will be on the list? Sorta like what outside Xbox does I’m sure they won’t mind
why does the world being destroyed and sided with lucy is an insult to the player? I mean what do you expect from the route named "True Demon Ending" ?
Any game with a "true ending" or multiple endings is insulting to players and is something game developers need to stop. You shouldn't have to beat a game multiple times in numerous ways just to see how it actually ends.
I disagree. Some secret endings are a little absurd, yes, but asking you to fully complete a game is basically asking you to truly try and complete something they worked very hard on. Personally, I don't know anyone that does not like secret endings
Personally I liked the True Ending of Eternal Darkness. It's very Lovecraftian, in which there are no real "good" endings, just "best" ones. These Ancients are simply too vast to eliminate fully. Besides, you can unlock Eternal Mode and go godmode.
The Bloodborne ending threw me for a loop. *BUT* It's a three way tragedy, regardless of what you choose. The "easy ending" sees the Doll kneel by a new tombstone. When you go back through NG+, that tombstone is now there. So, no matter what, you're stuck there. Either by doing the Groundhogs Day thing, having to watch over the Hunter's dream, or stuck there being looked over by the Doll. Is that bad? Maybe?
I miss all this channels true gaming ladies... Ash, Rachel and Kristen... You could see their true passion for the games they spoke about... All this young lady does is smile... Sad state of this channel if this is the future of its internet personalities
Baffles that there are so many people who still defend ME3 ending. The devs flat out lied and were lazy. Plus who could forget the original message at the end of the credits “Buy our dlc!”
I don't know, but I thought that MGS 5's ending was brilliant. It ties up the storyline with the first games nicely and allows us to see things from Outer Heaven's perspective.
Aquaria. SO VERY MUCH. Everything the main character accomplishes over the course of the game is undone in minutes for the sake of setting up a sequel that never happened.
“U”ka “U”ka....it hurts. Is it just me or does she just seem like she’s on this channel because she has the credentials and not because she likes gaming?
