I love MB&F However everyone I've ever shown the horological machine to says I'm out of my mind, but I like that mid century space pirate vibe they do so well 😂 plus the boxes the watches come in are literally out of this world
I think the reason people often like watches like these, even when they're not that good, is simply that they're different. Especially when you're a watch enthousiast, you can only take so much samey stuff.
I really love the Panerai Luminor Due. I know: a 42mm Panerai with 30m of water resistance is kinda ridiculous but honestly I don't care. I have a small wrist, but I really like Panerai. I cannot wear 44 mm or even bigger watches since I simply can't fit them. A 42 mm Panerai is the perfect solution and honestly I don't care if I can't take it while scuba diving: I wouldn't do even if it had 300 m WR
I have a small collection of 8 watches with un-commond brand like Breguet, Arnorld and Sons, Bovet... I can feel the disapproval amongst my friend group whenever I add a piece that are not from Rolex or the big 3. To them I am being stupid and loosing money in those watches and not being responsible with my money. To be honest, I love and respect Rolex and the big 3 but none of their pieces really speak to me unless they are ridiculously expensive (I have an expensive taste, I guess haha). I just ignore them I buy the watch that I love. I am happy to be the silly goose in the group. We like what we like, no need to be embarrass about that (unless it's an Hublot then shame on you)
Moonswatch priming a new generation of collectors? I hardly think so......more like a continued generation of fools parting with their money for something that lasts temporarily.
ur funny af andew. You seriously bring some top tier comedic lines in your presentations and I thank you for all the laughs provided with great watch content.
I like none of those. My guilty love is an Invicta Pro Diver. It's just so comfortable and legible and it look so good. I don't care that I only paid $60 brand new. Cheers!
Probably a sign of getting old, but there isn't a watch I like that I'm ashamed of. Like what you want and let people's opinions pass over you like a fart in the wind.
I have a rainbow iridescent, "600m water resistant", 55mm wide & 23mm thick, double escape wheel, abalone dial Invicta monstrosity I got for about $80 on a cruise - it's positively obscene, the bracelet alone is 2mm away from being just as wide as my 35mm PRX, doesn't fit in the watch box, and it weighs about as much as every other watch in that watch box combined....but it's a hilarious bit of fun that I cant help but like.
I love the John Mayer Hoodwinkee (yes i spelled that correctly lol) G-Shocks... I'm a huge fan of the 6900 series as a whole but the JM variations are just fun. They make me feel like I'm still playing the watch game, yet wearing something that is rugged and fun.
I like integrated bracelet watches, I think they deserve to be seen as a proper genre rather than a homage category. Also, it appeals to my inner 80's child which is probably also the reason I'm drawn to the Bulova Computron.
The new prx digital, i like it more than most, other than casios there are not enough luxury quartz, let alone digital watches, so it's nice to see the swiss going more into it and some colorways are really nice like the gray on gray I also like the code 11:59, the case shape is unique and the dials are great, they are more than just a gateway to be in a royal oak wait list in my opinion And also aliexpress watches, of course they are not all made equal some are straight up trash, and others offer undeniable value, like if they offer faux vintage for discontinued watches, same goes for invicta, shocker right but here me out, in their catalog of hundreds, they have like 10 models that are worth checking out, plus you have a lot of choices with the colors
I have to admit i kinda like the design of the bell&ross BR 05 series. I think they are to big for me and maybe a bit too expensive for what they are, but I kinda like em 🙈
I was never an apple watch person despite using iPhone and iPads since forever. I love my mechanical watches but was “forced” to use my wife’s series 6 apple watch for fitness purposes and found out why people love them. Its really an amazing tech minus the daily charging though.
I love my Movado. I know. It is quartz. It is not fancy. It is not a famous brand. But it was love at first sight and even today it gets picked over watches that are embarrassed by having him as a neighbor in the watches box.
@@mrlong6267 also my first watch. The one I bought with the first salary I ever earned when I started to work some 20 years ago. Enjoy yours for many years and wear it with pride :)
Are you feeling ok Andrew?.. but seriously - what I am hearing is you like fun watches and I couldn’t agree more. And pretty much I’d have all of them were cost not a factor! Luckily it is - so - like you - I can stick to G shocks and swatch for my fun kicks without breaking the bank!.. ps video inspired me to strap on my swatch neon to the max chrono!
I think they're fun. I don't do that investment thing. But it's clear as day, that this obscure, hated ref, will fetch big bucks 10, 15 years from now. Just like every misunderstood car. Anything fun and quirky, and initially hated, always ends up being desirable. Learn from the past, people!
Hi Andrew my guilty watch pleasure is the PANERAI Luminor Due in 38mm..is this a watch you'd recommend? For a watch lover that is a member of the small wrist club.
if not for being overpriced to high hell, my wrist would be 24/7 adorned with Hublot Big Bang and Richard Mille and I'm not even being ironic. I'm a mild mannered person who like to wear classy and subdued outfit, so a big, gaudy, blocky watch(that isn't actual $5 Chinese trash) is the only thing to assert any hope of personality that isn't "boring"
So, think you're fearless, huh? Going to tell the world about the Hublots and smart watches that you like, as though the good opinion of the community was less valuable to you than a disposable coffee cup? I don't believe it, and here's why: there remains a sacred threshold you still have not dared to cross. Secretly, you long for conventionality and the approval of the unthinking conformist masses. Prove me wrong. Praise an Invicta.
I honestly don’t know how Hublot do it, they actually deserve some sort of award… they even outdo themselves from one level to another, that Big Bang is instantly vomit inducing!! 🤢🤮 And they STILL refuse to align those bezel screws!! 😖
California Dials, especially on fashion watches. It’s winking at you because it knows that you know that it knows the story behind the dial. And yet, buying one would end the world.
I’m admittedly not a Rolex fan but I cant question the brand recognition and history etc but the bubble one is so tasteless & ugly, it throws all that class & tradition straight in the toilet...ps within my limited budget I thought I tended to buy mechanical watches with nice & maybe even classy, dials......but I just bought a seiko with a “mid-life crisis”😅camo dial😊
Wanna know how to tell you are REALLY getting old? When you decide not to engage in the comments section. Now, I gotta go. Time for the Price is Right and my pre-lunch nap.
0:50 - This watch is the turd of turds. Might be the absolute worst design created this decade. I’d rather wear no watch than this watch. Shame on Rolex. But F em. They are damaging their brand.
If they put the Astronomia Tourbillion in a pocket watch casement, so you can protect it with a watch pocket, can take it out and set it down, it would make more sense.
Gotta be honest, that Jacob & Co really appeals to my sense of aesthetics and love for retro geeky space stuff. Probably also couldn't wear it, but man, if I had the dough...
I had a Big Bang Ice Bang and I was unfortunately parted from it. Trying to replace is is near-on impossible because Hublot is do damned inconsistent there is nothing on the market that has the exact same bezel, dial , and movement.
Early on in its history, Kobold made a chronograph that had Sinn 356 vibes and it was tempting to get in on the ground floor of a new brand. I’m not embarrassed that I liked the watch, but the bizarro-world that Kobold has become would have had me embarrassed that I had associated myself with the brand and that would have sullied the enthusiasm I had for that watch and the company. Glad I took a pass.
The subbie, logically I know it’s a plain dive watch that isn’t worth the money asked by a cynical marketing giant, but deep down I love it and can’t convince myself not to.
