I bought a black dial version. It was one of the the greatest moments of my life as I saved 10 years to buy that watch. I flew from Amsterdam to London and took a coffee after 3 hours went back. Now I can do a little research and hopefully find out what what she is worth.
How did you grow your portfolio to $55m, I'm impressed, I have a lump sum in the bank, the rates are not impressive so I'm moving it, what's your cash flow like?
Funny thing is I visited a pre-owned watch dealer and 3 out of 5 watch trays mainly just had Rolexes. And most selling for retail price or under. So many being dumped in the grey market!
I am fortunate to have a small eight watch collection, my favourite is my late Fathers 1972 Seiko 5 with a blue face, my Mother purchased it with her first Salary working for MOD which was remarkable as she had Polo from three years old and spent her life in a Wheelchair, being a Woman in the 1970s in MOD was hard enough as it was, I had the watch serviced and cleaned, and it looks like new. ❤
"The work we love -- the hand jobs -- is what's needed to finish." This is why Andrew is the GOAT! I burst out laughing while out riding the subway on that one.
Idk I wouldn't consider an IWC Portugieser Chronograph to be a watch you "should just buy" without a second thought... It looks a lot like a fashion brand watch and doesn't have any chronograph / racing / space history like many other chronos at lower and higher price points.
Andrew Morgan is the Dave Chapelle of RU-vid watch personalities. You come for the watch recommendations, but you stay for the interesting puns and digressions.
I was planning on visiting a Cartier AD today. I woke up this morning and watched this video. Went and bought the Cartier Tank de Must. Beautiful! Now what do I do Andrew? Awaiting further instructions…
Nice! Which version did you get? I have a solarbeat large myself and it's my most worn watch by far. Got a few straps for different occasions and I'm set.
I just gotta say that you are one of my favorite reviewers on RU-vid. I haven't reviewed a watch in a couple of years even though I have purchased a few but I rather watch channels like this. Keep up the great work!
@@AndrewMorganWatches since going independent you’ve created some of the most authentic and batshit crazy watch content on RU-vid. I know you’re a sci-fi author but I’m beginning to believe you’re actually a physical construct of your subconscious mind trying to find a satirical metaphor of an outsiders view of the absolute circlejerk of the current watch industry where everything has a price and nobody has any values. Keep doing what you’re doing because it’s amazing 🤩
Love to see Dan Royter's work on here, still regretful I didn't pick up one of those when they were a little cheaper than they are now. Stupendous value though.
I jumped and had to rewind when you gave a shout out to Hyun Bin and Crash Landing on You. Don't get me wrong, I love it. I was just completely caught of guard, LOL.
Having 2 dreams, 1st to start my watch brand. 2nd Andrew Morgan 🐐, the first to review my brand collection. I consider this comment as the biggest step to make my dreams comes true 🤞
I went for the Shunbun about 1.5 years ago and while I still often wish that it was a bit more pink it is a fantastic watch. Dornbluth sounds pretty cool, and had not heard of Royter before but now I am interested!
As one of the people who most definitely "has trouble remembering a single number for an entire day" I wish the watch enthusiast community would slow down the crusade against dates. I wish I could live without one since no date dials look better for the most part. Unfortunately, when I wear a no date watch I keep looking at it for the date all day and get frustrated. There is no universal truth in this debate. You either want one or don't.
Awesome video. I love Monta, oak and Oscar, studio underdog and Baltic. They are awesome. However I also agree that Trafford should have taken the cake. Great video.
I like your videos, they contain humour, are well written and expertly delivered. This video was no exception, except the funniest thing you said in this, was the price of the Cartier Quartz. That made me laugh out loud. Well played. Good job I don't need to go to the bank for a mortgage.
Why on earth Seiko continues to put Hardlex glass in $300+ watches is beyond me. The Citizen Tsuyosa would seem to be a slam dunk. As for the Cartier, quartz on a two hander is a heaven - made match❤
Great job, and humorous delivery. I really didn't think Andrew would find success so quickly with his own channel, but I was wrong. I can't wait for a new post.
Been watching your videos for a while now and was inspired to start a collection. Started with the amzwatch, its specs for price and clean looks, now am looking for a dress watch to add.
Great video, very accurate analysis. In my 4.5 years in the game as a watch collector and enthusiast, I collected a lot from amzwatch I was thinking I was able to get a blue SD but I'm not vip enough, but I'm not giving up. Hehe. Great video.
As soon as I have a thousand pounds that my wife doesn’t have a better use for, I will be getting a Seiko Alpinist GMT. Just love that watch and IMHO offers amazing value for money.
These AMW videos are a classic template for any who wish to engage and hold an horological onlooker’s interest . I’ve listened to you through ’Watchfinder’ and am impressed with your development of your content and presentation of same . Your offerings of details about any of the watches you present are cocooned in a meticulously precise swaddling cloth of childlike love and wide eyed enthusiasm for the makers and engineers of the watches , and a dreamlike sense that we all share the same desire (to know the history and development behind the smallest components in ANY watch) . Having listened to you probably about seven years ago and inspired by your enthusiasm, I bought a Dornblüth . Your enthusiasm was not unfounded . My enthusiasm for the Dornblüth upholds and sustains yours . You’ve reawakened my desire for another . L gooru
I'm reading New York Deep, and instead of my own voice inside my head, I'm hearing it in your voice instead. It feels odd, but still works for me. So far, so good.
nkuwan You are so well-informed about luxury watches. You've obviously done your due diligence and the comparison to the US is very informative...because of course, I live in New York. thank you very much
Great video but some of these watches i wanted a good look at and all i got was fast moving b roll of the side lol And honestly the only one on my list is the blackbay. But thats just me. 😂
I picked up the SRPK89, the new black SNXS from an Australian AD on a VIP off for AUD399 or USD265 a week or two ago and it has barely left my wrist. It is an absolute joy to wear on my 7.5” wrist 🖤
I bought the Chopard a few years ago with a 35% discount, fantastic watch. On the wrist it looks as good as anything you can buy. The movement is the only place where you can see where the money has been saved over the pp or ap. Never had even a tinge of regret buying it.
This has to be the funniest post I have seen you put on here yet. You are truly the Rodney Dangerfield of watch reviewers. Soooooo many incredible one liners that I lost count. Thank you Andrew for all your reviews and channel. You made my day! LOL!!!!!
Wow that Royter DR-02 is nice and first time in ages I have not heard of a brand before in the watch world. Anyone know what type of cutting/engraving tool he was using in the video? Cut like butter through the metal from 18:08 onwards.
