New #poker players have been making the same mistakes for years. And the interesting thing is that these mistakes are EASY to fix, but only if you know what to look for. So in this video SplitSuit walks you through 10 blunders that new players still make.
Mistakes include everything from preflop play and how the wrong hands (especially from the wrong positions) will hurt your winrate, to postflop leaks like bluffing incorrectly. Don't worry if some of these concepts are new to you as a newer player, just get the big-picture ideas down first, and you can refine them over time.

I think, as a "new" player (I've been recreationally playing online since 2010/2011) my #1 mistake that I kept repeating over and over and over again for YEARS was playing when I was not sober. Of course then all my biggest losses happened... 🙈 I'm not gonna get into details, but I'm sick and tired of it. I'm sober now. Haven't been drinking for 123 days now....

The 11th way NEW players keep fing up is theyre not subscribing to The Poker Bank. This is a given that some newbies arent quite grasping.

G'day, Mate When I'm playing against "newer" players. I just (feel I) don't need to be that aggressive... I can get away with slowly but surely building my stack. Without taking that many high risk, high variance situations. I just don't need to risk all (or most) of my chips on a bluff. Because against "newer" players I know I'll end up finding a better situation. On the other hand, when I'm playing against more "experienced" player's. My strategy is completely different. For example, I make sure I focus on being more balanced. I take those small +EV scenarios were I'm playing aggressively and bluffing off my stack. Because I know I'll never win against higher skilled guys without playing like that...

You can't win with 72o unless you play 72o, every hand is personal, steal chips and souls, ALWAYS remind the table how long you haven't been playing poker when you win a pot of any size. If the game breaks a few minutes after you head to the cage, they realize that you were too good for them and quit themselves. See if you can play them again. Don't move up in stakes until your card room tells you you're the best player at those stakes.

The hardest thing to get over as a new player was the confidence issue. I know for sure I folded too often and bet too small cus I was afraid to lose. I was easy to scare off a pot. At the same time I had a problem folding preflop. I would always pay to see the flop.

YOu do that because your knowledge about the game is not there yet...when you're in too many sports where you just have no idea what to do, then you need more studying...when you know what you were suppose to do , it will not matter the outcome!

I've been watching Split Suit for years. Lately I have terrible luck. I haven't won a low SPR pot in months. This morning's highlight was my AA vs KT, in a 2 SPR pot, and the flop was K3T. There's just nothing I can do, the money must go in. Oh well, it sucks to be me.

@@ThePokerBank of course I didn’t know *all* of the material. That would be delusional. There was an abundance of stuff only a damn computer could remember.
