I do a lot of the things on your list, and some of the ones in comments. A new thing I've started this year is dedicating a week to a family member, either for their birthday, or just because they are on my mind. I look for their favorite colors, or things that I know they love and kind of make it a collage of "this is what I think of when I think of you" type stuff. For instance, my twin grandsons turn 9 next week. The oldest (by two minutes) gets the left hand side since he "came first", done in red, his fave color, with some Minecraft characters, llamas (yes, I'm using up those dumb Christmas llamas lol) and books. The other twin gets the right hand side, done in blue, with Minecraft characters, skateboards and penguins. Since red and blue make purple, I'll do purple stickers focused on their actual birthday. This way they each get their individual stuff, plus a special nod to the awesomeness that is twins :) My mother's birthday was Feb. 8 and she loved all things rustic and country, so I'll go with a buffalo plaid, a log cabin (I grew up in the log house my parents built) and a ton of stickers out of the Farmhouse sticker book. I think it's a different spin than the standard Celebrate or cake or balloons on their birthdates. Plus, it makes them and me feel good. Win win!
I always find your 'tip vids' so helpful!...how to find inspiration, how to fill the planner when you're not super busy, etc...LOVE the practical tips! Thank you!
I love your videos too and a big fan. You have enabled me tons (LOL). I bought about 20-25 HP Sticker book in the last few weeks. (Ouch!). I am kind of new with the "Happy Planner". Last year I started with the "Bullet" Journal. Was not really my thing. My planner has to also be to keep up with health issues. I have been in the paper crafting world for about 30 years and have a Huge amount of Stamps, dies and Designer Papers, which I can incorporate into my planner(s). Bought a bunch of those too! I got both size page punches. Gone a little overboard? Again thank so much for sharing your world of the "Happy planner".
Sometimes I go with a "feel". Like I'll want it to have a vintage feel, or a mountain cabin vibe. Then I flip through my sticker books and scrapbook paper to see what I have that will match that feel, and the color scheme usually shows itself. Loved all your tips btw. Don't burn yourself out on all the content you've been putting out, but keep them coming! Have a great weekend.
These are great to go references to help with spread ideas. Sometimes it seems like coming up with ideas is the hardest part of planning for me. Great video!
Love this video. Like your ideas. After 10 months of planning, I now have spreads I can look back at to get ideas or reuse an idea. I usually flip through sticker books or check out videos or IG for ideas. I do think of color combos. Somehow pink is always involved. 💕😀 I've been using my paper pads more recently. It was easy to do during Christmas. I will be researching some not so well known national days. Love the idea of coconut day.🥥🌴 Thanks for sharing your ideas.😊💕
Omg i loooove this video! Such great ideas. Will watch again to take notes! Thank you!!! And yes i go to bed and start thinking of spread ideas, so i need to grab my phone and jot them down! The idea of categorizing spread ideas on IG was amazing! And making a list of spread ideas as well! Loved it!
Great video Mary Ellen! I keep a digital list on my phone (because I always have it with me!) I have enough spread ideas for 6 MONTHS of weekly spreads!! 😳🤩❤️
I watch your videos faithfully. They are a constant source of inspiration for me. This video was particularly helpful as you touched on several ideas for inspiration that have not occurred to me. Although this is not planner related, I love your stripped bed covering and was wondering where you purchased it.
@@PlanningwithBumble Thanks Mary Ellen. My closest HomeGoods is in the Detroit area, which is an hour away. My trips there are infrequent and my timing must be off because I seem to miss all the good stuff LOL.

This coming week spread was inspired by my two week fight with a heavy cold Been including lots of planner tidbits in the last two weeks to help me feel positive Then yesterday I thought bout how lemons are helping I downloaded free art Pinched and zoomed two sizes in Word and filled in almost all of next week with boxes and Faux- washi strips of Lemon designs Yes printer and glue stick The designs are light So I won’t need any of the tricks I use for writing on dark paper Though I love this weeks layout I keep turning to next weeks cold attitude buster lemons
I have been watching your channel for a couple of months now, although I decided to start using a planner in January. You are such an inspiration to me! I have learned a lot in such a short time and always look forward to your next video!
Love your videos! They help me so much! When I am really stuck I have my mother in law, who is also really big in planners, pick a color or theme for me to go off of!
I like to participate in challenges when I see them. Most recently was a first sticker book challenge that was fun! I haven't really seen a color challenge around recently, but they are fun too!
...and don't forget to review your planner for themes and styles you like before that you can use again with different colors and stickers and placement of the aforementioned. It's okay to repeat something that works for ya.
I was just memory keeping the other day and I had no plan for the spread. While flipping through my stickers I came across a sticker I liked, and that is were I drew my inspiration from. Thank you so much for the great ideas! You never know when and where you'll find creative inspiration. TYFS
I struggle with this almost every week!! I mean.... Like for next week, I'm clueless. I just got home from Creativation with some new toys so I guess that means it is ink blending week! Yikes!!
I've still not gotten a planner (the one I had gifted to me want s stolen from my mailbox) but I love your ideas. Saving this video for inspiration!! 💕
