after becoming a POD Etsy seller I realized it would be so cheap and easy to buy blank Gildan/Hanes items, have a one day photoshoot and sell hundreds of mock ups!!! I love your advice about being a suply store for people who want to make money. That is my next move for sure.
I started my etsy on December 2022, I got my first sale on 7 December and today 30/1/2023 I have 73 sales, 3 of my listings already in page 1 since 2 weeks!! I am glad that I joined Etsy and I will definitely learn a lot from you to grow.
Your take on "don't worry about perfection" was exactly the type of push I needed. I have a small Etsy shop selling vintage fine jewelry and it is constantly a lot of trial and error trying to figure out what works and doesn't... but your videos are so encouraging and helpful. I closed my etsy shop due to poor sales compared with my eBay shop selling 30 eBay/ 1 etsy /1 shopify. Same pricing, same free postage, beautiful pictures, and great descriptions exactly the same on those 3 platforms. 40 listings on eBay and etsy and 60 listings on shopify (sitebuilt cost $4000 au.) I also supply my stockists around Brisbane and my brick and mortar shop. Sales are consistently high each month. So I dont know why my etsy shop or shopify site (which I advertise) doesn't bring in revenue like all my other channels.
Hi Catherine! These channels can have different customers and different search volume for different keywords so it might be just a matter of "packaging" your items with different marketing depending on the platform! I'd treat these platforms differently. Etsy customers are definitely different than eBay and Shopify can be different, but it just depends on your product/target market.
@Dylan Jahraus ty Dylan for reading my comment and responding. I am currently working on a better-looking logo and labels for the shopify website. I'm thinking of opening up etsy again. Loading what I have with better quality photos and new logo. I'm going to start with my main items and then continue to add more products each day or week depending on the time schedule with running my cafe and retail store. I know it's going to be hard work for a while and build that customer base. I don't expect success overnight on etsy, I watched a number of etsy coaches and picked up some strategies to use. How do i join and promote in facebook groups for example, if i make teacher products, but im not a teacher
It means selling items people use to create products instead of selling finished products. Like selling images or materials someone else would need to make their own items.
Just found you and really liked this video. Subscribed. When a person opens an etsy shop, if they have a specific direction they are going and there are several different products they are using to incorporate that, is it ok to list different types of products in one shop or should each type of product be in a separate shop? Just as an example...shirts with shirts and jewelry with jewelry etc. or if they are being used as part of the same messaging (theme), could they be put together?
Maria you are right! Most Facebook groups won’t let you advertise or even talk about your products. I have seen people get kick out of groups for that. It’s a waste of time dealing with Facebook groups.
