Thank you for your feedback ! I wanna try to breed some Dennerli for a long time but never dared to do so. I'll give it a try when my shrimproom is ready.
Great sharing! really require more knowledge on sulawesi ... however i think you can have a better control of your ph by having some kh in the water simply by adding a little crush coral. With it you can have a stable ph / water parameter with or without plants .. cheers mate! Wish me luck too as i have just starting once again to have a second go with sulawesi .. i failed on my first attempt as well :D but hey .. everyone starts from somewhere! Lastly, i think the waterchange part there's another tip you could try which is increasing the speed of refilling every single time you do a wc .. its to train them to adapt and tolerate more changes of water parameter .. and eventually you'll be able to notice them becoming even more hardy and able to tolerate way more .. *( this is what i do for both neo and caridina , i believe it would for sulawesi as well :) good luck trying!
Aquatic Haus great tips and great comments. and I'll give them a try. my 3 colonies are over 300 strong now. I'm afraid to switch it up as im a big believer that if it's not broken why fix it. but I am tempted to give these ideas a try. thanks for commenting
I totally agree with you but i think its worth the try as it gives them more room to tolerate any unwanted situation that lies ahead ( just incase yea, who knows one day the power supplies black out for a long period or something ) Cheers mate!
Hi What's your conductivity and tds. I'm facing difficulty getting pH to 8 using salty shrimp 8.5 at the same time keeping tds below 150 and conductivity between 200-220 . I'm using rodi water comes out with pH 7 with 0 TDS
I'm keeping Cardinal shrimp now. I have a small colony of about 30. Thanks for the tips. I was unsure of what to feed these guys if anything or if they can just survive off of the biofilm and algae in the tank.
@@Rubiksluvva well lucky for me I have a couple local breeders that keep them near by. But before that I had to buy them off eBay. And that can get a little pricey.
@@RWAquariumPages i just worry some of the asian product bacter will consume american product like brightwell or seachem , also the magic powder note that dont use it together with other bacter product is that true ?
Hi, amazing videos! How about ponce stone (the one that is used in filters as a biofilter) as a substrate. It covers very nicely with algaes and also is a good surface for denitrification bacteria. Did you try it?
thanks for the video and the tips.one question have you try African Cichlid Mix Sahara Sand by caribsea. Im thinking of using this as a substrate.any comment.thanks
it's an very interesting concept that i've tried, personally i like inert and saltyshrimp to control as using coral or anything like that could potentially raise the kh and tds unlimitled, hope that helps!
Do you still use sl aqua magic powder for your sulawesi shrimps to replace bacter ae? How often and what is your dosage if you still use sl aqua magic powder?
Where are you located? Any way to acquire some from you? P.S.... These are some of the most beautiful tank raised Cardinals I have seen. P.S.S... Haha, I see you are up in BC. Any will to send some down to the states if I can't find anything comparable locally? :)
Hello. Yesterday I buy 100 Sulawesi shrimp and died only 2 days. From buyer tds is 200 and my tank is 100 ppm. I dripping first for 5 hours. Maybe they died because I turn on the lamp 24 hours with 12 watt. Yes, a loy of money and mental stress but I keep going. I bought the denitrate as your recomendation. Before I used to silica. Keep fighting
@@RWAquariumPages How often do these guys breed? And how many eggs are you getting typically? and what do you feed the babies with? Do you seperate the babies from the fully grown? Have you kept these with guppies? Will guppies peck or eat these guys or are they good community fish? Will the guppies eat the baby sulawesi shrimp?
temperature in my room is around 26-29 C, and i hear from people there, towuti lake sometimes really cold (around 25C). Summer time in Indonesia is cool and at rainy season really hot. (now summer and the temperature is 26 C for my room and 24-25C for my tank. And at rainy season temperature in my room reach 32C, so hot like @ hell)
Excellent video!! I'm from India and finding Sulawesi shrimps is rare, I did get my hands on home bred Cardinals and I bought 10 lost 5 since it was shipped in winter season. Anyway I'm happy that my colony is gradually getting bigger, I now have around 25 shrimps approximately. In the video you said you had separate wild tanks. My question to you would be, can we mix both home bred with wild ones?
thanks, the reason I asked because, I just have doubts if the wild ones bring in any hitchhikers(disease) that would infect my tank and ruin my existing colony.
@@RWAquariumPages oh ok Thank you! do you also hold harlequin shrimp? if so for how long ... many say it is impossible to keep this in the aquarium for a long time?
