I just want to give a huge thank you for doing these kinda of videos, i imagine you recieve almost no money from them, but you really provide the best imaginable content imo.
This will definitely help me out Edit after watching: As expected, I knew a bit of every map beforehand, but I learnt a lot of new information about the topics, and this will surely be a very helpful video to use while playing learning games.
I have to say that the tip for Alto vs. Pare stop signs isn’t to be used with 100% certainty. Was in Mexico recently and noticed that most of the stop signs were a mix between the two, they didn’t simply use only Alto.
New-Brunswick recently changed its laws so now it does not require front plates. Although this will not really affect geoguesser for a little while. Great video, very nice to have all this information in one place :)
when it comes to the UAE, Abu Dhabi is the one emirate that’ll have a speed limit of 140 shown on the signs, (except for 2 highways with a speed limit of 160km/h) but has very limited official Google coverage compared to the other emirates. Dubai has a speed limit of 110 km/h and all the other northern emirates have a speed limit of 120km/h.
@9:30 Some things to note here on the speed for in USA. In texas, only 1 or 2 roads have a speed limit of 85mph, that would be toll road 130 between north austin and east of san antonio. The other may be out on on west I-10 there may be some spots with 85. Most of the state is 70-75. If you ever see "speed", without the "limit" you will be in oregon, it wasn't until, well now like 15 years ago, oregon finally said they would update their oDOT books and include the word limit. They never have gone in and just replaced all the signs, so over time they are updating to speed limit, but there are still quite a few noted as just "SPEED" And finally, in oregon, along i-5, there have been several sections over the years where they have "test sections", for the name of "Safety" of them testing different road types and different max speeds. So you will see up to 75mph speeds in oregon. My last trip to oregon was in spring of 2021, and they indeed did have a test section of 75mph. And one more map to include, if anyone has it, and if it even would be a think anymore, is which states have a day/night and/or truck speed limits. Texas uses to have day and night speeds for cars, then they had it for only trucks, and now we have just a simple speed limit. I do believe some still states still have a day and night; and i know several states do have truck limits.
Just a note, in the UK you would never see a 60 or 70 mph road sign as they are national speed limits which have their own sign: a white round signs with a black diagonal line through it

Great video, as always. Just a note about the Norwegian road lines, which you have as "Middle yellow or white". Middle road lines - meaning lines that separate traffic in opposite directions - will always be yellow in Norway. If the road is too narrow, there will be no middle line at all, and if there are several lanes in the same direction, they will be separated by white lines, but then there will also be a yellow line somewhere.
Hey zigzag, regarding the front and rear license plates. Ohio just recently passed a law no longer requiring front plates. Most cars still have front plates but just wanted to let you know!
Such an awesome video. Just one update for Nigeria for anyone watching now, there is coverage north of Abuja but the car looks different so that can help tell where in Nigeria you are.
9:24 idk if someone has already commented this but The Netherlands has recently updated their speed limit, it is now a 110 during the day and 120/130 at certain parts of the highway after like 19:00 or something (I don't drive so I don't know for sure) :D
Zig8zag if youre playing geoguessr and youre guessing the Estonian islands you can try to pronounce the island names The big one is called:Saaremaa The medium one above Saaremaa is called:Hiiumaa And the other smaller ones near them are:Muhu, Vormsi, Ruhnu, Kihnu Love from Estonia
The map with the crossing sings only said that the Czech signs have five stripes on them, but the guy on our sign is also wearing a hat! So, a guy with a hat on a crossing sign = Czechia :)
Thanks for the tip 😃. Do you know if the same goes for slovakia by any chance? I tend to have much trouble choosing between these two in my games, but if your tip is specific to Czechia only it might be very helpful for me and others facing this problem to make the right call.
Great video, these informational ones are always really fun. I’m going to print out screenshots and use them as flash cards for the ones I think are more helpful, thanks!
I never used a front plate in CA so sometimes youll see cars without and you can check and see if they have a fixit ticket under the wipers, thats 100p California bro
Of course we have speed limits in germany. Only on the Autobahn (and there also only on some sections) there is no speed limit. Ordinary roads have a speed limit of 100 km/h outside of towns and 120 km/h on expressways (not to confuse with the Autobahn). On the Autobahn you'll often see speed limits of 120 or 130 km/h.
In the summer of 2020, the Ohio legislature passed House Bill 62 which removed the requirement of displaying a front Ohio license plate on a vehicle. While a rear license plate is still required, the only vehicle that is still required by Ohio law to have a front license plate is a tractor. I know this is 7 months old, but I just wanted to clear up at least my own state as I got pretty worried there for a moment 😅
This is so fucking useful and has great infos in it. Not only for the game but also for rl. Thank you so much dude. And i gotta say you are really handsome.
I would like to mention that the last map is outdated and there is some changes If you're curious here is the map en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:World_Speed_Limits.svg
Great information, thank you for sharing. As others have said, ohio no longer requires a front plate. I imagine it could be confusing in a new gen of Google maps since some people still have front and back plates while others may have a decorative placard or even nothing at all
Pennsylvania may not require front plates, but as someone who lived in the area I rarely if ever saw people driving with just one. Unless you count the Amish.
Did you just call California a southern state? as a chicano, Southern states usually refer south eastish, so east of texas. There is a certain connotation that comes to "Southern state"
In the map with coverage around the world the dark green is for countries with only trekkers but what is the light green, are the light greens all border spills?. The coverage map is also missing the Mali trekker.
i got a norway round in a place called (volda) it was a pedestrian sign with 5 stripes so i just went finland but it was wrong and volda isnt really northern just wanted to help someone who might see this.
While front plates are technically required in Maryland, I see a lot of cars (Maryland rear plate) without them and the police don’t care here. Haven’t seen you get a Maryland round yet so this information probably isn’t very useful but no front plates is quite common here
not sure in maryland, but many states it is required to be on, but it is only a secondary offense. Like you can't be ticketed JUST for that, you also have to be giving a ticket for something else.
As an Israeli I was quite surprised that other countries don't use the hand as their stop sign, like, it is so simple, why not? everyone can understand that, If i'd come to Türkiye and see fucking DUR I wouldn't have guess what it means. 8:00
I"ve visited Ireland a few times and never noticed their street signs were different than the rest of Europe .. Ireland does not have black and green chevrons ...
