Everything Mick did was pure gold. At the time I was 19 or 20 and I was all about Stone Cold. A beer drinker who tells off his boss just blew my dumbass mind. But now they I'm able to rewatch the Attitude Era, I can see just how amazing Mick Foley was.
The whole deal was just so beautiful. Rock thanking him as a way of acknowledging "yeah, that just happened" is so indicative of what a fun guy he and Mick's just the sweetest man alive.
Hogan: Get me over Motorcycle: That’s not gonna work for me, brother. Hogan: THAT’S not gonna work for me, brother Vince: You’re not gonna work for me, brother
I was there live for this moment. What they didn't show on tv was Mark motioning to Hogan the throttle motion with his hands trying to tell him how to start the bike. We laughed so hard because in the time frame Taker could have easily just came down the ramp and stopped him.
@@CryptixFTW I'm pretty sure Hogan has a lot of experience with motorcycles so I doubt it was an issue with him not knowing how to start a bike. I heard on redit that Bruce Prichard said it was out of gas which makes a lot of sense though I don't know how accurate that is because its reddit. If it wasn't out of gas there's plenty of other reasons that it could have been stalling. Motorcycles can be finicky. Especially those custom choppers that Taker always had. Those things look cool but they aren't exactly the most reliable of motorcycles.
I remember reading about Undertaker v. John Cena at Vengeance; and how Taker's bike stalled on the entrance ramp, which is why he walked the rest of the way to the ring.
@@mpendulomkhonto818 as horrible as it might sound his back injury and leave of absence was the best thing that ever happened to him. He was able to take personal time, get clean and find religion. His career after his 02 return was his best stuff and it cemented him as one of the greatest of all time.
the undertaker being called mark by shamrock could also be referencing how at the time everyone was saying he was taking his character too seriously and thus calling him a MARK as double meaning
I kinda agree with you. Also, his entire line was, "... Mark, t's about time you got brought back down to reality." Basically, crossing the line from kayfabe into actual reality.
Why exactly is that? Shawn Michaels and Mike Tyson were friends (Tyson was actually a member of DX if you don't remember) and Tyson was also walking the line and on his best behavior attempting to get his license back after the NSAC yanked it and fined him $3M. It's also worth noting that Vince McMahon paid Tyson back that $3M due to his actions on that night. Tyson was a hothead but he wasn't a complete monster incapable of having a conversation with someone without attacking them. Come on, we're talking about the real world not the WWE world.
@@charlies2641 the topic has more to do with Michaels and the way he threw tantrums and put his hands on people while doing so. (the shoving and throwing things he was known for) If he put his hands on Tyson or threw something in his direction - he would have been bought and paid for.
I'm Sorry, but does the Undertaker look like a Mark to you? Does the name fit the man. I don't know. When i first learned his name was Mark i just couldn't believe it.
so you're telling me CM Punk going off on WWE was planned? Roman saying "succotash" in a promo was planned? Titus World Wide sliding at GRR to become Titus World Slide was planned?
Unfortunately yes. The writers can be either really good at making the fans think it’s real and not scripted (Pipe bomb promo) or you have the Roman reigns thing and yeah that was 100 percent in the script.
Look at it like this....Vince controls EVERYTHING and that includes the microphone and the production truck and the soundboard...punk's speech could have been squelched at any second, and to think otherwise is ridiculous
Yeah cm punk "pipebomb" was scripted they knew what he was going to say all part of storyline but punk legit was angry about state of wwe when he said those things but all planned.Watch austin ecw "pipebomb" way better and was not scripted since heyman let them say anything they wanted
Interesting to see what would have happened if HBK had confronted Tyson… I think we all know what would have happened! I would have enjoyed every moment, too.
goldberg is one of those idiots who don't want to ever accept that age DOES takes a toll on you and you'll never be always a strongbadass and I'm not talking bout his character...I'm talking about bill goldberg in real life which he kinda also projects on his character as well. Yeah you were juiced up okay strong in 2000s but you're a 55 yr old grandpa now...your character demands you to be a badass so be it. But don't come on my face even on unscripted interviews or random meets with fans and project the same thing. Worlds strongest man competitors cry like kids on chiro and physio tables but this guy who leaks anxiety tries his best to not look vulnerable. Dude...you're not on tv....you're a grandpa...you're supposed to scream
@@apetogetherstrong4243 oh and new flash there tiem where some star stya in charatwer evne when there not wortkig you need get over and 55 si not old fool 80 is old
First Question: If these are moments that were NOT supposed to happen, why is Shamrock calling Taker by Mark included? That was definitely scripted in, as explained afterwards, with the describing of Vince's character feeling that Mark thought Undertaker was real?
At the time, his name Mark was mentioned another time or 2, specifically when Michael Cole had said it bcus the storyline was that Taker had taken had "his character" too far/too seriously and they were saying he went too far with threatening Stephanie and showing up at the McMahon's house. But maybe in reality, the Ministry storyline and eventual transformation into the Biker could have been a typical Vince method of showing a wrestler's error of ways and humbling said wrestler: 1) that Biker characters hucked, and 2) Vince made a deliberate decision to break The Streak!!!!
@@comeflexwithme_4493 i swear all of you abusive haters need to grow up, but that will never happen... because you need to abuse people to feel good... GFY scumbags
HBK getting mad over the t-shirt spot really! Sami: You could've asked me about AEW. Brock throwing a real shot . Cena: I don't need notes for my promos on my wrist. Savage Cena
I think this is hilarious when a scripted fighter confronts the most badass man on the planet to get himself knocked out for real. HBK could have turned to HBT(heartbreaktooth).
Yeah and brock would of made tyson look like that boxing character on family with the messed up face and as for Michaels tyson would definitely ko him brock would paralize Shawn
8 I'm 35 what I was referring to is a cartoon called family guy there's a commentator talking with Tom tucker who is a boxer with a messed up face I was stating brock would make tyson look like that
@@juliemillington9907 i know family guy, what i dont know is why you bring in brock in the discussion like an underage fanboy. btw i dont think that lesnar would win that clear against a 90s tyson.
Shawn michels wanted to confront Tyson? "It would have been interesting to see what would have happened' Well Shawn would have gotten a rather harsh dose of reality that he is not a real fighter and mike tyson is.
Fun fact Brock Lesner has never actually knocked someone out during his UFC run with him scoring 3 TKOs, 1 submission and 1 decision. Brock has also never been knocked out with him losing via 2 TKOs, 1 submission
I love the Lesnar Strowman moment. Strowman was flexing and put to much mustard on the knee, Lesnar let him know it was too much and that was it. I hope both men appear in AEW
I heard from a few wrestlers that HBK was very insincere after he was born again. I think the old Shawn is still in there, but he knew he couldn't pull the same crap he used to because he wasn't Vince's favourite anymore.
@@ScambaiterX are you talking about the Jericho winning the title that night? That was scripted… that change titles all for the ref to change the decision later on in the show is actually named after a wrestler I would like to say Dusty Rhodes not sure doe
@@worldofwrestling2817 So? It’s not like people don’t know other promotions exist. The legal department is just worried someone might say something that could be construed as problematic.
Or when joy mercury broke his nose in a fatal 4 way ladder match for the tag team champion in 2006 that wasn't supposed to happen he was supposed to put out his hand to block the ladder from hitting him
This is just a short list guys, there are a lot of moments that were unscripted, but who wants to sit through and hours long video about them. It better to do installments that try and include every moment.
That's a long believed myth. The cage breaking was a planned spot. Mark has talked about it extensively on his podcast. He went through the whole match spot by spot, it's a good video. Once he pointed out the zip ties holding the cage in that area, it became obvious it was a planned spot.
believe it or not, jerry "the king" lawler called undertaker by his actual name the year prior, when Undertaker returned via casket to challenge kane at mania 14 you can hear jerry shout "get up mark!", so while the live audience didn't hear him, we at home sure did =)
@@CypherDND What Brock did was impressive, but in no way was he ever the real baddest man on the planet. He benefited heavily from the UFC not having the best HWs in the world at the time. Most of the top guys were in Strikeforce before the UFC bought them out. Wedum, Overeem, DC, Big Foot would have all killed Brock. And in the UFC he was not matched up against the two best HWs in the UFC in Cain and JDS at the time Brock was champ
This is a pretty good list but how could you guys forget Stone Cold's "If there's one thing I can't stand" promo after RAW went of air and a lady named Stacy made him break character.
You forgot when Angle doesn't get Shane through the window and Shane drops on his head. There has been so many moments that were a mistake though to be honest. Some just get forgotten. I think people get pissed off when they aren't suppose to lose a match and they do to someone who wasn't getting pushed. Like they screwed Brett Hart but they say Brett screwed Brett. If Becky didn't get her shoulders up in time for the 3 count that is really on her not Emma.
I was at that show when Hogan couldn’t start taker’s bike in Hartford CT, you could tell he was embarrassed af. The crowd was absolutely dying laughing.
Shawn was just a lil spoiled brat and didn’t like the fact he was told get Austin over for the long run. I don’t think there was another wrestler bigger in the 90’s or in the last 30 years to be exact.
I was at the event when Hogan couldn't ride the motorcycle. It was hilarious. At one point he storms off the bike and disappears into the back for like 10 mins and then they forced him to go back out because they had already shot the video of the bike getting run over by the semi truck.
