as builder of Carbon Cub EX Kit #78 I can tell you the main reason this program has been so successful....MITCH TRAVIS! Mitch makes it possible for the first time builder like myself, to take 8000 parts and make them not only an airworthy aircraft, but an award winning aircraft at both Oshkosh and Sun N Fun...thanks Mitch!

How many hours did it take you and what was your investment in tools and misc supplies?

robbynelson3 715hr building. I like tools so any chance I could to justify a new one I’d purchase it. Maybe $1500 at the most to get tooled up to build one of these. If you are a EAA member most chapters have guys that will loan tools to help other builders.

I love my carbon cub ex. got it for my birthday my friends built it and presented it to me I immediately installed a small tank and sprayer and started dusting my field

I get the idea of producing a "modern classic". What I don't get is the price tag. Also, hasn't the poor Cub design been flogged to death by now? With all that redesigning and re-engineering they could have produced something vastly better, rather than handicapping themselves to a 70 something year old design. If i was going to pay $300k for a "modern classic", it better be something like Beech Staggerwing!
