When I was a lad I spent too much time behind a Ransomes combine and a Massey Harris 3 bagger .. We had a couple of steep fields with rock outcrops.. we cut oats with a reaper and binder .. stooked the sheaves..
I seen myself i n the video. I was driving the Super A Gleaner behind the between the Matador and the 902. Lovely days. I really like the 902. Such a fantastic and unusual combine to see working. I love old combines thats for sharing.
Glad you liked it. The 902 and Matador belong to my brother. We were pleased you were there that year and hope you'll visit again. We watch lots of your videos too.
@theboypete you do really well you managed to get loads of veiws on you video. I been going quite a while and only 2 or 3 of mine have managed this many veiws. Its a good quality clip though well done. Its funny how some videos seem to really catch on and others not so much. I enjoy sharing what i do and i seem to have a small group of followers who like what i do so i suppose as long as i enjoy it and they enjoy it then thats all good. Im having a break for a whilr but hopefully i be back on it in summer
Really enjoyed this video - took me back to my days growing up in Newton St Cyres, Devon. The 902 was just like the one used by the Quicke estate and a neighbouring farmer had a Massey 400 - I remember how it made the Ransomes look very old fasion! When the baler had followed the 400 I got paid 50p ( just after decimalisation ) an afternoon stacking the bales ready to be lifted by a bale loader. I always had an interest in Allis-chalmers and remember watching a Gleaner working in a cliff top field near Hartland in North Cornwall. Thanks again for this video.

All these old machines appear to have grain tanks, augers and spouts. In 1958 age 14 I worked on a platform on a combine tying off hessian sacks of grain and fitting a new sack. Do these machines no longer exist?
There are still vintage baggers working and there was an MF735 at Ellingham last year which I didn't get on film but it is on other RU-vid videos of the 2023 event.
