Would be nice if they put number for article specific definitions right in the heading with the word rather than at the end. (Ex. Busbar (393) ….. rather than Busbar …. (393))
Ryan, nice intro to the 100 days. Since you are a code making guru, could you go and make code suggestions to fix things like your "busbar" example. That particular one really needs to be referred to as "suspended ceiling busbar". I'm sure most of confusing one article definitions can be tweaked into more specific definitions and fix the confusion.
I think that the reference to other NFPA codes is essential to understanding how to apply the electrical code. It seems like everybody uses the NEC electrical code but there are authorities that use different building codes which may be a national code or some local code using parts of a national code. What is a nursing home vs a rehab center per the local terminology? In my area a rehab might as well be a nursing home the only difference one expects one day to leave the rehab center where in a nursing home you are leaving in a hearse. I can see some one saying that it is not a hospital, not a nursing home, but a rehab center. Go check the source documents. How does the plumbing code define nursing home? Is it different? When dealing with code enforcement it is always better to have the answer before you ask the question or be able to ask why or how something applies.
Hey Ryan, when doing a standard multifamily calculation, which type of occupancy would you use for the G.L.L of a common hallway? I have heard hotel and motel but just wanted to check. Thanks.
