100 Days in Vintage Story

Dude, all of that building and decorating and you never discovered the chisel! Im genuinely upset you didn't discover the chisel, it's one of the greatest things that makes this games building SO much better than Minecraft. I can ramble on about how great it is, but i'll just tell you what it is, you can customize almost every single building block in this game PIXEL BY PIXEL. You can turn a single wood block into an actual functional table with legs and a stone trim with a glass top, all in a single block, like, custom support beams with carvings and integrate different kinds of wood or glass or stone into them. You can make custom glass windows of any size and shape with a custom trim and framing made of whatever materials you want, pixel. by. pixel. Like it's so game changing dude, you have to play this game for another 100 days, if not for anything else other than to play around with that amazing mechanic. Also, I saw you made a cellar at the end of the video, but I don't know if you know it's full potential. If you have a room that is fully enclosed (walls floor ceiling) with a solid door or better (takes planks) and then you seal your crocs (use one animal fat with a filled croc to seal it) you can put it in the cellar and it'll last for over a year. Cellars can be as small as a 1x2 pit in the dirt that you cover up with dirt to get in or out, or as big as a custom made 11x11x11 room. Personally I keep a cellar in the basement of my house with a solid door and tons of crocs with shelving, and I keep a small pantry by the kitchen for day-to-day food (without sealing the crocs) my pantry can store unsealed crocs for like 2 weeks, and my cellar can store sealed crocs for 1.5 to 2 years. My cellar is just a small stone room with some shelving and a solid door. Also, lanterns are copper tier light sources that never burn out, you just need to do some bee keeping to make candles and they're brighter than torches. Also, you never mentioned it but a torch never burns out in your inventory, so you can just keep one on the hotbar and use it to forever light your forge and cooking fires. Also, there's more clay build options with fireclay (it's just like blue clay and spawns on the surface but it's orange) and it'll allow you to make glass with quartz (with a bloom) as well as an oven. You can make a grinding stone thing called a quern and grind your grain down to make flour, mix it into dough and make bread, or better yet you can use the dough on a table and put berries in it to make pies and bake those for more sat, the pies can store in a cellar for about 30 in game days, so not a bad option for making use of berries before winter. There's also a lot of in-game lore and items you just need to find cave entrances on the surface and delve into them, they have new monsters and all sorts of items and cool stuff. And late game there's mechanical automation and all sorts of really cool stuff, start farming tons of flax specifically and saving some animal fat, you'll need it later!

As someone with over 1000+ hours in this game I can really recommend it. Vintage Story takes the most basic things and makes them fun. I don't know any other game that made me sit by a window watching the snow. I didn't had the clothing to go outside and I didn't know how long my food would last. During sommer you have more red meat than you can ever eat, like 80% of it rots and you just don't care. But when fruits and Meat go bad, and you only have a few veggies and grain. You just sit near the window and save energy, as movement costs you. Yes you can sit and yes it saves you a little bit. And campfires heat a room if it is small enough and you remembered to stock up on Firewood. It looks like Minecraft, but it plays a lot more like Don't Starve. At the start, you have no chance facing a Wolf. And Metal Armor is a huge, long process. But once you get there, the whole game changes.

I can see a rally good horror arg being made with this game anyways keep up the good work

Vintagefirefox got me into this game, so its amazing to see it get more attention!! This game is so unique and it also led to my current interest in the wilderness. I hope this does well!! Also! I just started this vid so i dont know if you know this, but you can make poltuice out of horsetail and cattail, they heal about 3 HP if i can remeber correctly, and there are better verions you can make later on with honey and sulfur.

i loved the video! however i would like to point out that there's a handbook ingame that works like the wiki, (open it with "H" by default) not only it has a description of almost every item (and recipes) but also a small amount of guides such the guide to metalworking. Also the reason why the prospector pick second mode is not on by default is because it's quite overpowered and it's also a relatively new feature. you're suposed to use the default mode which tells you the % or even ‰ that ores could spawn in the first spot where you prospect (you have to break 3 blocks but doesn't matter how far the 3rd one is from the first, it will answer what is found in the first block you broke) and then you try your luck going there. doesn't matter if there's a ultra high chance to iron, it may be nothing there while ultra low chances may yield enourmous amounts of ore. since that system was a bit "too harsh" for a lot of players the devs added the second feature (which already existed in the form of external mods) and now it checks in a radious of around the block you break and tells you exactly if something is physically there or not.

Hey bro, just so you know, it's way better to invest metal into making some lanterns, they don't extinguish underwater, gives way more light and are infinite, the only thing you need is to make some bee farms

If you ever do another 100 days or 200 days in vintage story, you could go to the resonance archives. It is a dungeon that got added to the game last year. There you can find some interesting loot, lore and get into a little boss fight.

I have bought Minecraft but played only like 4months and my laptop broke,and I as a student cannot stack enough to get a new one. So I thought i will continue my hardcore world day 200+ with little progress as i played MC hardcore as soon as I started playing the very 4th day. Now I'm like imma get this vintage game and grind it after I get enough fund to buy a good laptop. Until then if u keep uploading I'll keep watching.😊

1:40 That's 3 days total. You could be playing for a couple hours a day and stretch that time out over weeks. It's just a matter of play time per session.

Nice video, the only suggestion I would make would be to dedicate at least a full minute to each day.
