Kanji is definitely the thing I've struggled the most with when learning Japanese although I can say it is definitely worth the trouble. You may have already considered it but I would recommend using remembering the kanji by James Heisig
Hey I think it’s tough to understand radicals as a Japanese because these necessarily make sense even you understand all the radicals so in my opinion it’s better to get some important kanjis. hang in there!(and I enjoyed watching your videos!)
It's better to learn kanji as a part of words/vocabulary than individually. You wan't to learn those words anyways, so while you are at it you might as well learn the kanjis too to make your life easier 🔥
Yeah, I'm not going to go super deep into kanji now but when I do, bruv, it's going to be hell since it has konyomi and onyomi. How has your kanji learning gone so far?
@@ritchiart from my experience you dont have to worry so much about kun- and onyomi, just knowing that kanji are read differently depending on how they are used is enough! The more words you learn the more patterns you will recognize in how kanji are read and/or their meanings💪 My kanji-vocab study is going slow but steady hahaha
@@ritchiart I'm still not good at Japanese so you can disregard what I think about it, but I find any contextless study to both be terribly unmotivating and unhelpful because when I actually see the radicals/kanji/words in real life, I still don't know which of the 12 possible meanings/pronunciations it actually takes. I found Wanikani to be kind of fun at the beginning, though.
@@diamondminer81 Yeah def that. That's how it is with everything really. No real clear goal or motivation for something is basically wasting time, which I felt during this video. I feel like Japanese and any other language some would learn takes freaking alot of motivation to even perseverve. I read a comment on "Takashii form Japan" I don't know if you watch his videos but he's kinda popular J-youtuber. And there was one comment that was funny because it's was kinda true. The video was about How Foreigners had learnt Japanese. I scrolled down into the comment section and a guy just said "Ohh, so you have to be fluent in Motivation before becoming fluent in Japanese". I thought that was pretty funny
@@livsis That's good ma boi! Japanese feels like one is just scratching up a base for a house and just hopes it works. Then after building the base now you can see where all your mistakes where. And then build the house. Therefore one shouldn't be too stressed about learning everything all at once
