We bought a used 2020 Kia Niro EV last September for almost 50%less than the new price. Our electric bill went up about $40 monthly which is less than 1/4 of the monthly cost of gas for the old 2006 Toyota Highlander. Service checkup & tire rotation at local Kia dealer was $25 last month. I’ll never buy ICE again.
Ev is good if it fits your purpose. The only problem with EVs is that the transition is a bit forced, instead of the product standing on its own merit.
WTF are electric cars? Is this yet another liberal trick to part me and my horse drawn wagon? NEVER! Gas or electric, cars will never be better than a horse. And mark my words, I am not wrong. If gas cars are still around in 1950, I'll eat my horse's hat. Electric cars don't have a chance either, because of ... reasons.
The issue with range is that it is very hard to beat the energy density of gasoline. It is an excellent fuel and most experts feel that the internal combustion engine has 30 to 40 years of development left, including new materials, such as ceramics, and other innovations that we have not even thought of yet. The internal combustion engine is far from dead.
Tesla model Y, 300+ miles, Enhanced Auto Pilot for most of the major A road and Motorway driving, no extra time waiting for charging as I charge whilst eating or going to the look.No more fumes, servicing after 2 years if maybe replace air filter, wouldn't go back to dino juice cars.
Driving assist options are not unique to electric cars and a 50s Cadillac has better range than 300 miles. But as long as you like it, that is what matters.
Tells me a lot about you. 1, you make assumptions about the content producer. 2, you display ageism. 3., you can't write a coherent sentence with any kind of thoughtful feedback without vulgarity. So I will do what you did. Ahh yes, know it all millenial, spouting off on things they don't have the life experience to have learned
Another point not mentioned in this great video is the weight of these pure electric cars. The roads are getting beat up more and the major tire companies are spending a lot of time and money designing new tread compounds to cope with the added weight. There are also numerous reports of shorter tire life than a traditional car.
You're mistaken. Last quarter EVs hit the highest percentage of vehicle sales to date: 11.22%. How long have you drive an EV? Which one? I've driven them for 13 years and woudl NEVER go back to a gas guzzler. They're BETTER cars!
Great video as always!! In time I think we will see all electrics, the technology is there but it's just not practical. I like the electric race car idea, that would be fun!!
I’m concerned about cost of ownership of an EV,insurance is but one example.of the outside cost My neighbor has a tesla. It says the tires are many hundreds of dollars I’m working man with family and other expenses perhaps the Chinese produce affordable cars what are they doing that we haven’t done yet?
So many good points made in the video. A must watch for the EV Army, especially the ones who have believed all the hype and rhetoric, and cancel or Gaslight all the facts.
Great fairy tale. Cars are clean on the user side but energy still has to be generated from fossil fuel, nuclear , hydro, and in a minor way solar., plus the energy consumed by digging dirt by the ton out of a mine , loading giant dump trucks for hauling, the conveyors to handle everything just to get a few pounds of essential materials to make batteries, and solar panels. Just to charge a battery 18 wheeler takes at least 2 to 3 megawatts to charge, the same as a large office building. The free market will decide what choices the consumer wants. If they just stick to plug in hybrids with solar panels for a supplement that will work great for us that drive long distance and dont have time to wait for a 6 hour charge
