Needed this day beyond imagination. We’ve been through so much as a group these past 5 months. Johnny , Kai and myself each working harder than ever to survive and keep this dream alive day by day. Minimal sleep, tired bodies and exhausted brains BEFORE trying to go out there and catch these fish.
I know they aren’t East coast 45s but the feeling is just as good to me. I used to wake up at 3:30 am on a Saturday in NJ, drive two hours to a lake, fish it sun up to sun down with my biggest fish being a 4 pound smallmouth, call that a huge success….and drive back to do it again Sunday. So honestly, this grind we’re on right now? It’s nothing. We live for this shit, it’s in our blood. I haven’t eaten a thing today I’ve paddled a good 4-5 miles and I’m still out here fishing with a long paddle back ahead of me. Wouldn’t want it any other way.
The gratitude I have for what’s on the end of my line these days is beyond immense. Along with the gratitude to those who help make it happen.
