i miss the more melodic ending of this version , the release version is more dubsteppy which im totally a fan of but otherwise i really wish they kept the melodic future bass end of this version
Their music has been called an "anarchic assault on the ears" that "pulls conventional pop tropes in every direction possible", as well as "abrasive, maximalist pop" with "elements of pop punk, nightcore, ska, dubstep, deconstructed club, trance, metal, and happy hardcore all thrown into one big internet blender", resulting in "songs that shift gears dozens of times, in a way that recalls... Kid606, or Venetian Snares", also earning comparisons with label PC Music and band Sleigh Bells. Just search one of those things ig got from wikipedia page
this song specifically has various genres (just like the entire gecs discography). It starts with trap with late 2000s myspace techno synth-ish, then it switches to glitch hop + future bass and there's a small bit of Jersey Club as well. Overall it's hard to pin down just one genre since they have influence from many artists within and outside EDM. This song in particular kind of reminds me of Rustie, specially his album Glass Swords. It sounds very happy, sugary and colorful just like this track. He is also one of the pioneers of Future Bass. Check him out ;)
i tried to reproduce the instrumental, it is uploaded on my channel if anyone is interested in trying to mix the vocals with my version of the instrumental
