The Philippines, an archipelago of over 7000 islands known for its beautiful beaches, friendly locals and in my opinon Asia's most underrated food! The food here is full of flavour, fresh, smokey, sweet, exotic… There is so much more to Filipino cuisine than just adobo.
Welcome to Chopstick Travel, I'm Luke Martin. This is a film I made with over 100 hours of filming across some of The Philippines most famous food destinations from the chaotic capital of Manila, to the pristine jungles of Palawan, to the laid-back vibe of Cebu and the food heaven which is the city Bacolod. Everyone knows the best way to dive deep into any countries culture or cuisine is with the help of locals. We’re kicking things off in the biggest city in the Central Visayas, Cebu. With the help of my local Cebuano friend Paolo we’re going to uncover the true taste of Cebu

I'm Luke Martin, food lover and world traveller! I make videos about local, authentic and unique foods from across the globe. I particularly like to sample street food across Asia. I’ve eaten my way across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, parts of Africa, North America and the list is still growing! My mission is to create content that is entertaining, informative, honest and fun! I love what I do and I'm always grateful for your support! Thank you and see you on the next episode!

@@LukeMartin I hope, before serving Bacolod Inasal, you should have used a new bowl of chicken oil different from the bowl of oil you used for basting while grilling to avoid Salmonella poisoning that might have contaminated it with raw chicken.

Bacolod City, my home. We used to eat lunch at Bakerite when I was taking Architecture at La Consolacion College, across the street. Also, in Manokan Country, I always eat at Umbao. For only 145 pesos you have chicken breast inasal, unlimited rice, 12oz coke, and free Cansi soup. 😍😚😍

That looks like fun and adventurous at the mangroves and eating molusks that look like long oysters. We are jealous. That is very memorable bro ❤ Could tell your fav was the bacolod inasal by chef, the angel wing clams, and the beef cansi that was insanely delicious and tender. Just like its neighboring countries, the Philippines has so much to offer to the world. 😊

Kansi is a dish that I haven’t tried, but now that Luke declared it’s his ultimate favorite now and I believe it must be really tasting better than the other dishes he had. Love the Philippines. I wanna try that Pastil and it’s really cheap so you’ll never go wrong just to try it. With adobo flavor it must be good. Those chicharon are the classic Filipino comfort food and the LECHON is the pride of the Filipinos. The crunchy skin is what really makes it so special and the best flavor is on the skin. I haven’t tried the Rendang from the Muslim community in Manila. I grew up in Quiapo so I’m always at the Quinta market for our favorite Palabok because my mother would bring me there. I haven’t heard of the Lunar’s bakery. I wonder where that is in Manila. You’re amazing because you have eaten so much in a day and you’re loving it. Love the Philippines and everything Filipino dishes are so delicious and so cheap. Your money goes a long way.

I like that part that you were able to show the process of preparing for the Balut to be ready for sale. I like Balut because it’s nutritious and delicious, too. I just like it with salt and then sip the soup from the egg. I don’t want it with vinegar, but some like it a little sour. The white park is tough and I don’t like it. The egg yolk is the best part. The baby duck is really gross when you eat it with feathers and still good. Only now I’ve seen a variety of dishes you can do with Balut. 😊

Jeepnies that you see are not remnants nor frankenstined. They may have started out that way but the originals have long since been dead and gone. There have been 2 large manufacturers that I've heard of, one of them is Sarao Motors. These Jeepnies are legally allowed on the road for 15 years, after which they are supposed to be retired. But they don't...
@alexanderamposta8838
@alexanderamposta8838 3 месяца назад
Although the jeepneys were originally made from military jeeps left over from world war 2 …I’m pretty sure that there are no more of them running on the streets of Manila and that’s been the case for a long time now( maybe the last of them were on the streets in the early to mid sixties) …the present day jeepneys are locally made from steel or stainless steel bodies made by local artisans to look like bodies from the old jeeps and the bodies are put on surplus frames from other vehicles and surplus engines bought elsewhere (a lot from Japan).
