Son Doong cave in Vietnam is so big that it takes 4 days to trek through. Along the way there is so much to do and see and this is one of the most beautiful places on the planet in my opinion
I did this same expedition a few months ago. We must have done it a few days apart. We even had to sit on that same beach for hours waiting for the water to go down. This is hands down the most incredible trip anyone can do. It's genuinely life changing. If anyone has the opportunity to do this, do it. It will be tough, but you won't regret a second of it.
@viperonfire2006 I don't think you need to be very experienced. But you do need to be fairly comfortable with things like heights. There are a lot of times where you are walking along sheer ledges you can barely see the bottom of with your headlamp. I'm not in good physical shape, but I didn't have any problem physically completing the trip. The toughest part for me was the mental challenge of having wet feet constantly. If you hike occasionally and have done rock climbing a few times, you should be fine. Oxalis is incredibly helpful if you have any questions. They answer emails quickly and have tons of information about every aspect of the trip on their website.
@timmehtizzle That part is the Great Wall of Vietnam. There is some near-vertical climbing at the end, but it isn't particularly difficult. I only have some basic/casual rock climbing experience and it was easy. Especially with how much the safety team helps you. It definitely takes a bit of upper body strength, but anyone who is in average physical shape should be able to do it. There is a bit of near-vertical climbing down into the cave as well, but that is even easier.
For the price, I see why they made this expedition a very memorable one. Without those porters, a lot would not get done. Shout out to the porters. And thank you for posting your experience, awesome video.
Exactly. I'm incredibly impressed at how much they do for the visitors. If you enjoy hiking for a few days, this trip treats you like a king. No freeze dried food, AAA service, and just a good time with the card games and how much everyone looks out for eachother.
I absolutely love love Vietnamese people. They are so fun to work with and some of the most sarcastic people to be around. Are very loving and make great friends, and let’s not forget the aunties & uncles who make sure your always fed & are the best kind of judgy. What an unforgettable experience though. An an amazing video to watch!
lovely to see that, I'm a Vietnamese and poorly I don't have health condition required to take the trek. Thank you for totally giving the whole amazing trip, I really appreciate it
Just got back from the trip in February. Fortunately didn't have the waiting issues you had, and even avoided the mud trek to the Wall because the water level was so high (rafted instead). What an experience. Agree with everything you said: staff was AWESOME, food was great and it was truly a trip of a lifetime. For us mere mortals though, this was a HARD TRIP. Hiking on slippery sharp rocks everyday wears you out. Thanks for you post.
I used to get annoyed that all these people with exponentially more money than I have do these trips and "show off" to the rest of us struggling folk but I don't perceive it that way anymore. The views expressed in this video were genuine and Jordan's smile and mood are infectious. The editing that took place for this video ran through the back of my head as I watched all of it and I must commend you on the wonderful final production. Thank you for going on this trip and thank you for sharing such a sight with the rest of us, something we will likely never see in person. What a priceless experience, thank you!
Vietnamese food when prepared and cooked authentically by a skilled cook, usually tastes better than most restaurants. I know because my mum has been feeding me great food for decades. My gf used to call me fussy when we dined out, until she met mum and understood what real quality food tastes like. Now she pesters me to take her to the parents' home all the time. I'm screwed!
When you go to Vietnam, you usually eat better than you do in most countries, but be wary of Vietnamese coffee served with condensed milk. It tastes so good you're 100% guaranteed to put on 6-7kg after a month lol.
Not only is this a life long memory of an experience, but you also can always look back at this video years from now and re-live it all. What a truly beautiful place!
I did the overnight stay in Hang En a few years ago with Oxalis. It was an experience I will never forget!! The porters and chefs were amazing. I couldn't fault anything! So well organised.
you are not paying only for the expense, You are paying for the locals to sustain the cave, keep it the way it is, paying for other research and study about the ecosystem in the cave (Son Dong is so isolate that it has its own ecosystem unlike anywhere in the world) , paying for all the supporters, volunteers, people who truly love the nature beauty to step up and against those capitalist corporation - whom are still trying to build a cable cap, or put the cave in full open, selling ticket into the cave just to destroy it (it happens just a few years ago). Yes, it's expensive, but to keep it the way it is, it's also a lot of effort that can not be priced.
@ssaaddyy I think you need to re read my comment. I did not say at any point it's expensive. The total and utter opposite in fact. Your preaching to the priest so to speak 😂
@@ssaaddyy " is a steal. " nghĩa là nó quá rẻ, rẻ như "bị đánh cắp" vậy. Tiếng Việt kiểu " rẻ như cho", " Rẻ như bèo" ..... Một kiểu collocation nói ngược lại. Bạn bị hiểu nhầm.
Wow. I think you're the first vlogger to film your caving experience in Son Doong. AMAZING all around. This is #1 on my bucket list even though I’m too old and not in shape to do it (loved spelunking when I was younger). I think you need to title the video better for the views as I wasn’t even aware this video existed until today. Maybe put the name words “Phong Nha Vietnam Caving” in your title as well.
This is unbelievably amazing. I am 46 years old, just heard about this cave TODAY!! I'm glad the algorithm brought your channel to me, your narration of this video is really good, I'll definitely sub and watch your other stuff.
Seriously so inspiring! Out here living my dream ! Thank you for making these videos and showing people the world , how friendly it is . The world can be a bad place but you shine a light to that .
Better then your Mount Everest hike ??? Amazing your videos are world class 👍 You deserve millions of views so you can keep sharing your adventures, thank you 😊
The most realistic video in Son Doong cave that I have seen through your experience. You make me want to pack my bags and go trekking into the woods or mountains.♥
Wow dude the optics of the cave are so crazy on camera. My brain is 404'ing @13:16 seeing how small those people are across the water from where you are. On camera it looks like you are beside a puddle just a few feet from the entrance then you realize the scale of it all when you see the tiny humans in the distance.
I absolutely loved this experience, thanks for yet another amazing video. Can you imagine when Lennon is old enough how brilliant if he shared your enthusiasm and energy do these things together.
Everytime i see something like this i realize how much ive wasted my life trying to survive in america. Sure we have food and houses but there is no life no adventure just work and bills. Im 42 im close to just giving it all away just to have one good adventure before i die
That looks phenomenal! You have totally inspired me here. How amazing are those chefs & porters?! So kind and happy as well. What a treat! It looks like a 5 star hotel experience inside a cave (minus the comfy bed)! Thank you for sharing this.
Wowww! Such an amazing expedition!! Quang Binh is my hometown and I'm so proud of our natural legacies! Just hope that everything will be conserved well enough 🤩🤩
@@qwenqwen1476 welcome to Quang Binh, we have beautiful beaches such as Nhat Le beaches, Canh Duong fishing village, Phong Nha- Paradise Cave (this one is smaller than Son Doong of course, and has been widely open for tourists), and my favorite is Mooc waterfall. I believe you can find more info online. you should try "bánh bột lọc", one of our specialties. A lot of Quang Binh locals have an extremely spicy taste so be aware though 😁😁. I hope you will have a wonderful trip to Quang Binh next year!!
One of the most magical travel vlogs on YT. You were so respectful to the locals and embracing of the culture and people while discovering the majestic views all made possible by the hard working teams. What a honourable vlog and possibly one of my all time travel vlog videos. Happy 2024 everyone!
Thank you so bro for recording your amazing experience 😊. My name is Daniel I'm from California were there is much fun and adventurous trips and hikes of all kinds.Nothing like this.😮truly amazing
In my mind right now I’m thinking how in all gods creation are they able to carry full blown kitchens through a cave system bigger then an island town lol …. This is absolutely amazing watching this it makes me want to legit get on a plane and just travel… much love to everyone out there enjoy the beauty of the world for what we live in may be chaos but nature is always great to enjoy when it’s calm and beautiful
Although I live in Vietnam, I have never had an experience like this before. Looking at the scenery, I felt like I was watching a foreign scene. Wishing you good health on your upcoming journey to explore Vietnam 🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳
Amazing it’s like watching the movie Avatar and feeling if this would ever exist on earth and this by far easily takes the crown jewel for any adventurers. Thank you for sharing! On my top 3 bucket list. 😊
Hi Jordan. This is by far one of my favorite videos. It was interesting as I was thinking about the Vietnam War and to have someone solidify that there was a bomb right where you were brought some sort of chaos to it. I love bats 🦇 and it would have been amazing to see them. I can do without the leaches though. I was impressed by all the food. I like jackfruit but it didn't look like kind you get in the Philippines. The smell is so off-putting. Thank you Jordan for sharing
Absolutely loved the experience, was in Vietnam about 2 mounts ago and loved it. So much things to do. Please, please as I mentioned before, do Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea.
