100 Hours Of Flip Double Touch Practice... Here 's What I Learned.
Get ready to learn how to double touch or double tap with my 100 hours full of double touch tips and tricks! This time I spent 100 hours doing double touch training in Freeplay and just general gameplay in order to better my double touch skills. This is my master double touch guide. I hope you can take away from my double touch tutorial and put in the kind of double touch practice that I did while I was training. My rocket league double touch skills are better than ever right now and I hope after watching this tutorial or I guess... guide, that you can take on the double touch tips that I explain, and can then better your own double touch skills. If you have come into this wondering how to double touch in rocket league, I hope you come out with a bunch of double touch tips and tricks to get you in the hitting some crazy shots!
Everyone in rocket league wants to learn how to double touch at some point in their life. This is the double touch tutorial for you if you are one of those people. Double touch practice and double touch training in rocket league are the two things I have been focused on in the last month... which would explain why I put in 100 Hours Of double touch Practice... Here's What I Learned.
Let me know if you enjoyed this flip reset tutorial and if you would like to see more rocket league tips and rocket league tutorial like videos!
Also, a double touch is the same as a double tap. So this video is a double touch tutorial and a double tap tutorial. And I guess you could say a deevo shot tutorial.

Ah this time my speciality. Yep nice video man and all I can say is YES, training hrs on these is the best way to master that really useful(and basic we can say) mechanic because you just need to learn by training how to read rebounds and everything. I started training on them when I was Plat 3 in season 6 and all I can say is that the only things you need are: *Reading capacity *Car control (especially in the air but as fisrt on everything, a good setup is a need) *Boost manage Here's all, and remember: the only thing that can improve your precision is giving you the right space from the ball (basically more space means better aim cause of the reaction time) I love doing these for freestyle, it's just natural to me whenever I do them

I’ve just started getting more into focusing on double touches and I found something that really helped me learn to be in the right position to read the bounce: lightly boost right after first contact to stay a bit closer to the ball. Learn how close/far you need to be to hit the angle you need for the goal, but when I started out I found that the above technique helped me stay behind the ball more to basically follow its flight path and read the bounce better since I could literally see where it was going because I was going with it!

Something i learnt from a lot of hours practicing redirect double touches is that when you actually redirect the ball, you wanna try and send the ball in the same general trajectory your car is going in. If you do this right then youll be flying towards the same spot as the ball so you wont need to make any harsh adjustments to get a good touch (just general slowing down or speeding up to make contact with the ball after its bounced off the backboard). Also, a more advanced technique that just came to mind. If you're close to the goal when setting up and flip into the ball, gaining too much speed, you can try partially cancelling your flip so you can start boosting backwards earlier. After this you can hopefully slow down and get enough distance between you and the ball to get a good hit down into the goal, rather than being too close and slamming it into the backboard haha. This is just what helped me from my own experience, so hopefully its somewhat helpful to others :D Keep up the great vids

My double touches are diabolical, and I occasionally dip in and out of GC ranks. It's a nice mechanic to have but not essential for the most part, you just have to have the foundational mechanics and good positional awareness down. I would say Diamond 2+ you should think about more advanced mechanics, but where you are now, either have fun with the game at your rank, or work on the basics. Absolutely advise you look up and practise Kevperts Aerial car control as a decent starter.

Useful Tip: when reading the bounce and coming from either side of the walls you want to move to the other side because that’s where the ball usually ends after hitting from the other side of the goal.

If you want to grind your backboard reads really fast, you can find a good back board shot pack (needs to have at least 30 with as many different angle, speeds, distances, and car orientation as possible) and turn on bahkes mod medium or high variation and always hit up on the d pad, meaning never reset the shot, always move on to the next random shot. You’ll fail a lot, which is exactly what you want, but when you start making improvement, you don’t just get better at a couple of shots, you get better at making reads as a whole. You can get upwards of a thousand different read attempts per hour, which would normally take 10 hours in freeplay and in freeplay, you don’t get all the variations, because you can’t get someone else to hit it to you like in game. This doesn’t help with the setup, but once you have the reads down, with enough boost and proper car control, you can get almost every ball

Once again a fantastic video. This is fast becoming the best RL tutorial series out there! Two points: 1. You perform some seemingly (to a Plat player) complex aerial manoeuvres to get your car into position. How would you suggest is the best way to practice this and could you create a video on it? 2. What kind of change have you seen in your rank since creating this video series?

Awesome content as always, Thanovic. Very thorough, simple to follow, and overall natural pace to videos. I guess I'm adding this next bit as reference to "the parts that you said were tougher to explain" if it's helpful to anyone or to you in some other video... idk. 1. Anyway, it seems like Being Under The Ball for these shots is more ideal for controlling it - (1) you use less boost and (2) maintain better control of the ball. 2. Also, reading the ball bounces off the wall is tough for me in game, but simply considering gravity/dropshot (whatever you wanna call it) helped my A LOT in lower levels of gameplay and practicing. Recognizing gravity/dropshot still seems to be a helpful concept for the more difficult shots (like double touches), too. Sounds obvious, but realizing The Speed AND the ball gradually drops after any kind of contact helped me get out of ballchasing habits as well as rank up from bronze to gold in every competitive game type! And yes, like you said, the mastery of reading the wall bounce, perfecting the sweet spot, or anything in this game definitely comes from putting in the hours. Again, just trying to help fill gaps in a way that helped me! Hopefully, I helped out a little for some people who (1) really struggle with not quite positioning the car right in the beginning of the wall shots and (2) people who struggle anticipating the ball bouncing off walls and what not... P.S. This video helped tons for what I'm practicing right now, and definitely saved me time in a lot of other ways when it comes to practicing this stuff by myself. Thanks, and keep up the hard work!

I think you should do a 100 hour challenge on recoveries/quick ways to get around the field. Its a big part of the game which I think would be very informative to watch you train

odd fishy The main thing I can say that helped me was improving my game awareness . I realized i never knew what was going on in the field and always felt lost in the rotation and also in my touches and challenges . And at that time , I was champ 2 . Once I started paying attention in the field , and seeing little things like everyone’s car movements, you’ll be able to see things like if someone is going for the ball and in what way are they gonna hit the ball and if the opponent is ready to challenge your teammate . And being able to see all that will increase your openings for possible shot attempts and also passing plays because you’ll be able to see if your teammate is ready for a pass and if he’s ready to give you one . Game awareness also helped my shots more accurately because I was able to just how am I making contact with the ball and reducing meaningless plays during a game . I would look at a replay and analyze your gameplay but while watching pay attention to everyone else and see if you see movements you might’ve not seen while in that match

In gold 3 I would say you probably don't need to focus on things like double touches. Instead I would say play a lot of 1s and focus on solid ground play

This may be kind of weird but I actually disagree with first practicing the setup. I actually think that, in general, the setup should be practiced as late as possible, and the mechanics of finishing the shot as early as possible. The only way to really know if you've done the setup right is to already have an intimate knowledge of the rest of the shot that you'll only get by having practiced it. If you practice setups first, it'll make your progress much slower. This is what I did for ceiling shots and it made learning it soooo much faster

I would like to mention a few tips that weren’t mentioned in the video , most of these shots towards the backboard have ended up slightly above the crossbar , now in a rank below GC this wouldn’t be an issue as most of these would go in 80% of the time . In order to get a more powerful hit directing the ball in a « hard to reach » zone for the defender , you will need to hit the ball with the corner of your car . It is a lot easier to practice with Dominus first as the corner of the car is a lot more visible and therefor easier to gain that muscle memory . Your main goal after gaining that knowledge on how the ball bounces is to then try and hit the ball as hard as possible towards the backboard , this will insure that your shot will be 100% harder to save , even if a defender is driving up the backboard expecting a softer touch .

@Themininghamberger
@Themininghamberger 4 года назад
Hitting the ball with the corner of the car was mentioned but it is essential to have this reflex as default as it is a way more efficient way of getting higher ,powerful and more difficult to save double touches

Hey man! Love your videos. I really like that this topic was kind of difficult for you to explain, it made it more informative at least for me. A lot of people at my lower rank don't realize that sometimes it's just something you have to practice for hours and hours. All the tips you gave did help though! Thanks a lot.

I've been doing this recently only doing double touches in freeplay and packs and I'm about 30 hours in, pretty much can hit a wall start double tap and progressing onto different setups and doing double touches off a pass or bounce in the midfield Ps this is only 30 hours of grinding soley on doubles I could already hit them standard in freeplay but nothing fancy

If your up for something crazy, Than, try ceiling shuffle and ceiling switch. idk if you'd be able to get 100 hours out of it. But the switch is the hardest mechanic Ive ever done. Or maybe i just suck. There is also not much information out there regarding it, hmu, or talk to Pulse Novel about it.

I’ve been putting in more practice in air control and i change my cam settings to something else cause i wanted to see if it would make me a bit faster and more reactive and im hitting a slump right now... what do u recommend i do, or focus on to help me get out of it?

Please do a 100 Hours of Air Rolling left / right in the air or call it freestyling, there are almost no vids to this, how actually the car is spinning midair, how to get the control etc. (all the existing videos just tell you go in workshops and practice it etc BUT HOW Air roll left / right together with the joystick effect your car midair is not really covered and would be really interesting. You could combine it with scoring nice aerial goals in custom training in the end to make it more entertaining.

Jokes on you, I am almost never using directional airrole. I did learned them, but because I trained airdribbles beforehand I primed my training routine to restart immediately if my setup is not perfect or if I make a bad touch. But on the backhand I will have to learn to use this skillset from scratch in the future :/ - btw: u r all great, just think about how insanely much you improved since you started to play RL

@@Thanovic thanks man, so the dribbles are like general or ground dribbles.for the poll Was trying to find a.video or mostly the picture use in there. Since they explain more or less how the ball will bounce . So imagine the whole backboard or back wall divide in 3 sessions low, medium, high. Low will be from ground to a little above goal line. Medium from that above goal line to more or less center of back board. And High will be above that backboard to line of ceiling. So if you aim HIGH the bounce mostly like tend go downwards MIDDLE bounce like a downwards slope. LOW either loops like an parabola upwards on bounce diagonally downwards.
