@@zingez7768 not true... I've used mouse and keyboard on a ton of CoD games. Sadly I do hate the fact that controller is the only aim assist. LOL That's why people keep switching to controller.
@@terranbear5216 i dont mean you cant play mnk but the call of duty league only allows the input controller. So when the guy says that the pros are switching i dont really understand how he meant.
Peeker's advantage + Jumpshotting + Pre-Firing is almost always certain death for the other guy unless he can hear you doing it before it happens. People hate it when others jump-shot but what you said about strafe speed is absolutely correct. They nerfed strafing and most people don't like having to jump over every corner, so they play slower and most just opt-in to camp.
I aim for headshots so jumping does nothing, I laugh when they come up and jump and I still nail them! I'm sure it works good for those guys that are aiming at ground.
I agree, but please do not consider jumpshooting as a separate problem. Peekers-Holder is a netcode paradigm applied on a move input basis. The peeker is always the player who move for first (from a blind spot, eventually). "Move" not "Shooting", Jump is a kind move and when you Jump out of the corner for first you are the peeker and I'm the holder (camper) in pre-aiming. The network lag btw us plus our different reaction times do the rest .
My mind is blown. Ive playd fps games for years and years and this is something Ive noticed. I noticed that in times where I was able to play in flow and never stop moving, I would mop the floor. But the times where I was playing more calculated and slowly, other players would absolutely destroy me. Now I understand why.
The fact that you're so chill and explained everything so thoroughly even adding in DEVS commentary is freaking awesome. I am subbing immediately, keep up the good work ✌️
You don't know how much you have helped understand this. I would always wonder why the hell did he see me first and why the killcam was different from my pov.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾✌🏾
I love all these things which very naturally lead into centreing, awareness and being prepared for a gunfight. U can’t use peekers advantage well without knowing the map and where to aim right as u peek the corner (looking at that door through the walls) which is good centreing.
And as an extension, the ability to hug the right walls when clearing angles, ads spamming mid doorways and lanes not at a wall all keeps ur mind engaged on where enemies are coming from. Coz I always know the basics of look where you predict enemies, but my mind always drifts and then I am only proactive when I hear footsteps, and these really made me good at anticipation (aka walls to a noob)
Also, SHARED! Ps5 Keep up these videos brother, this is still surprisingly rare content. I do wish more people really dug into the use of controller with extended thumb sticks, precision rings, hand placement, thumb positioning, also aim and centreing training or how good players can mimic pros to train effectively and not just have a natural skill progression with time
Although I knew a good chunk of the information from this video, it still extremely helpful for those who don't know. Information that explains gameplay skills is so helpful. Searching up FPS guides would usually lead to a page on how to aim better. But this is great! You do amazing work for the community!Shared and PC.
I'm almost 40 played FPS's since well they were invented lol, but ALOT of my "ping knowledge/netcode knowledge" comes from my days playing Arena 2v2 or 3v3's in World of Warcraft, just like in FPS games you have to have Line of Sight on enemies to perform most abilities (aka being able to see and shoot them in an FPS) but yeah LOTS OF DYING AROUND CORNERS IN THE MID TO LATE 2000S LOL IN THAT GAME AND ALL FPS GAMES, they have tightened it up as much as they can I believe though.
you really feel this when you, like I, play a lot with people from as in my case America while I am in German, depending on how good the servers are etc. I get 120-160 most of the time.
To be honest, peeker's advantage is a problem to be solved. Seem like slowing the strafe aiming movement was one way to do that, which in turn made jumping the solution. This needs to be nerfed as well - for example lower accuracy when jumping, or enhance spread. Then we'd get closer to solving the peeker's advantage problem and leveling the field.
SHARED. PS5 my guy. Great info. Something I never really thought about. Usually running like a 21ms ping with my fiber connection so I'm at a good advantage. And now I know why everyone is jumping corners!
The technical explanation also accounts for getting killed around corners. On your client you’ve made it around the corner but not yet on the enemy player’s client.
Ok, now I understand why people jump like idiots around corners lol, I could never make sense of it, but now I understand. Thanks for the tip, I shared the video and gave a like.
Love the videos bro❤ is there any possibility you could do a video about learning spawns or something like that? Or is it just learned through game repetition
This is a good explanation if I'm in a hotel. The same thing happens at home, where my latency is very low. I enter into games between 7 and 11ms ping. I'm not terrible. I'd say I'm slightly above average. There are still times when a player comes around the order already firing.
Thing is when the developer was explaining u can see a outline behind the wall. And peekers advantage has nothing to do with someone knowing where u r ahead of time if u never looked up or around from wall, if they saw u ahead of time that's different. Lastly players using moded controllers are wack as well. Programming 1 button to aim, jump, and fire is crazy, or for snipers 1 button allows u to hold your breath, aim, and fire.
yes it happened to me yesterday. I saw the guy first, pointed and he killed me. But on kill cam, he sees me first... i was so pissed.... shared m8! Im on steam PC.
As someone that knows all this, it was a great reminder. Well explained. Also, you didn't quite say it, but got right up to it, the people who rely on slide canceling and dislike the movement in MW2 have issues because of a skill gap.
I wouldn't say all that. The Movements are just not natural. You dont see soldiers anywhere in the world skipping and jumping and sliding when shooting. This should be more realistic game like it was originally intended. I really wish people would stop saying Skill gap because they dont agree with someone else opinion on this game
@@navyvet7138 this isn’t a real game at all go play trakov or rs6 or csgo there nothing ever real abt cod it’s a arcade shooter zombies and jet pack and no scope one slide cancel hit melee aim assist throwing tomahawk across the map non of that equal realism in a game
Thanks for the vid man. We always complain about this crap. Lol it always seems like it "gives" the other guy the win when they jump around corners. Now I know I why haha
with a latency (ping) of 20ms it means its 20ms for a round trip (you talk to server, server replies=ping) so a ping of 20ms means on average* itll take ~10ms for you to talk to the server, and another 10ms for the server to talk back. *using ½ the total can be a handy way of treating it, but in reality it could take 1ms client>server and 29ms server>client or 5ms/15ms. its going to be different moment to moment, just as your ping doesnt stay exactly the same moment to moment.
Shared! I Sent your vid to the groupchat with the boys and they said there loving your content! Btw i play pc/battlenet. Keep up the great content my man
I never heard of this so yes this was a very helpful (random video) across my screen lol. Definitely will change my thinking and response to those moments that seem like automatic deaths without a fight.
Great video, but there is one thing I don't understand and that's who gets the ping advantage in a gunfight. Let's say two players, with 20 ping, are one shot and they both shoot their weapon at each other at the same time. So it takes 20 ms for the server to determine who gets the kill and another 20 ms for the player to know if they got the kill or got killed. In a perfect world you'd assume that the server gives the kill to the person who gets his hit registered as first. The issue that I've got is that I'm not experiencing it this way. There are matches where I'm frying so hard that the opponent hardly has got the time to react and then there other matches where it's completely the opposite. In extreme cases I can jump around a corner while (pre)firing my gun at an enemy who's not even firing back, but then all of the sudden I die in what feels to me like 1 frame. The weird part is when I then look at the killcam, then I apparently wasn't even firing my gun (or like 1-2 bullets, but 500 ms after being in enemy's view). Even with a ping of 20-40 ms, this doesn't seem to make any sense. If i'm firing my gun before I see the enemy in my POV, then the enemy should also see me firing my gun when I jump into his POV. Same thing with sniper, there are moment where I see and hear my gun go off, but if I die and look at the killcam then you don't see my gun going off.
the thing about online multiplayer and ping, is that the servers are designed to bog down the faster connections, because the slower connections will cause a bad lag on the faster connection. thats why lag switchers are hated so much cause once in game they flip the switch and bog down their connection to near disconnect to gain no damage and sometime infinity ammo and stammina. if they do not turn off the switch by the time the server does its refresh which it does every so often to clear out data and check for hackers and other things. when you refreshes and they havent turned it off they get removed from the server, the sad part is their cheating also gets others removed too cause the devs suck at programming sometimes (often actually)... so yes having high speed is nice, but the truth is your connection always gets limited based on the other players connections. its a balancing act from what i understand. this has been known since the 90s when unreal tournament dropped and we invented the bunny hop haha. was a huge debate back in the day. they really havent changed it, tho the servers have gotten allot better at detecting cheaters...
Shared! ps5 I love these videos. Ive been playing cid since the 1st mw2 and I feel like im always learning something new when I watch your videos. Thanks!
Really noticeable on rocket league, sometimes I will jump not involved in the play and still receive the ball,I had no intention of getting involved the the attack but end up scoring.
great info even though it isn't accurate, but its close enough. Even the dev explained it in a very simplistic way and forgot to half the ping times and add in the server tick rate which also plays a part , then don't forget lag compensation, it all gets tied into the gun fights.
I dont know how often i reported player who destroyed me that way. It was like the split second i got around a corner i got shot. Always thought they where at least wallhacking. But his unfair peekers advantages explains it a bit. This, plus camper frustrates me a lot.
So helpful. I’ve been wondering how these guys get the kill so fast during the game. Shared! Going to switch out paddle layout because of this. Xbox is what I use.
Good video, definitely don't forget to mention battle nonsense the OG. I use fiber, with a Asus PC and 360hz reflex analyzer monitor for average PC latency testing and a 8khz polling mouse at 1600dpi which also lowers latency and a netgearxr1000 gaming router for the geofilter if the game doesn't support a server list. I would recommend implementing as many of these as possible if you can but they work better in unity.
Awesome video man. Ive been playing FPS shooters since they first came out and watching your video this explains everything lol. All those years of screaming HOW! OMG HOW DID THEY GET ME! I feel like a bulb went off and it all makes sense now lol.
I think back in the OG cods it might have been better or worse depending on your wifi etc if you had bad wifi you most likely would lose your gun fights and if the cod has a lot of movement it made it easier that’s why it’s harder for campers to win sometimes
I came here to see the comments , but no one seems to have the same issue as i do. Basically when i play mw2 or WZ2 it's like i don't have peekers advantage , not everytime but a lot. For example i know where a guy is camping , i tac sprint and jump, pre aim exactly where he is , and even with dead silence and ghost i get killed instantly like it was instant reaction time for him. I'm on fiber , 1GB 10 ping wired, with a RTX 3070 and 144HZ monitor so it's driving me crazy. Do you think activision mess with our latency ? Or maybe something is wrong with my settings ?
Nice video i will try it. I been working on going up to enemy's and not shooting. Im one of those who gets nervous around the enemy so trying to fix that
This is quite literally why every single rusher is better than every single camper. Anyone that cares enough to understand the games they play understands this, which means the campers straight up can't comprehend this shit.
don’t play on WiFi, play with wired connection. That will at least get the data to your console from your router/switch fastest. I wonder if you could VPN straight to a location closer to the servers? Idk just a thought…
🤯 never knew this but it makes sense cause i swear i die this way. Im a casual sweat so i run around alot and sweat sweats always kill me in this manor. Now i know😂😂😂😂😂
@@Rehtycs and I’ve just turned 50 so I’ve learnt a lot from your channel and it’s helping me rank up in ranked , I think it helps more if you understand the game mechanics and how to use them to your advantage etc so massive thank you again and keep the tips coming 🤩🤩
Now explain how people still know exactly where ur at after you move from the area and are in a place they couldn't otherwise see yet bee line to ur spot no matter what
That video is very helpful ❤ some of it information I already knew before, but with your explanation that makes a whole lot of sense now. Thanks 🙏 Shared, I play on PS5
If you haven't, can you do one for jumping in the middle of gun fights? I seem to always lose gunfights against someone jumping because my bullets seem to disappear against a jumper...
