I wrote some constructive criticisms below, and loved the video! ~Secret Loot~ The secret stash of loot was genius. The only thing I believe it's missing is a second surprise. A few rooms with large doors filled with zombies that are opened by the admin would add some drama to an otherwise peaceful loot fest. ~Adding Players Late Game~ This is always a great idea. Having them be RP locked was a great idea too (until their boss died lol). They should, in my opinion, always out gear, but under number the existing survivors. Otherwise it's not a power shift. That's the idea behind them being RP locked, it can rebalance them. I'd love to see a stylized group next time. Blades guy, pistols guy, etc, etc. ~Zombie Waves~ There definitely needs to be a way to always be able to add more zombies (multiple, in case clever players disable them). That way you can toggle it when things get too peaceful or boring, timed, etc. ~On The Hour Events~ This is an excellent idea. Here's some other ideas. - Collective Problem Something everyone needs to work together to solve. Something where there is collective punishment otherwise. So like nuclear power plant is leaking radiation and will spread if not fixed, type scenario. If fixed a reward, if not, the map is irradiated. - Duel To The Death Set their strongest forward to risk their life for a reward, or a punishment if the fight is lost. Win is gear, food, weapons etc. loss is zombie horde, fire, cold snap, etc. - Weather effects Cold snap, heat wave, etc. You could reward them collectively based on the number of survivors saved during the event. Or possibly have something desirable within hars way. So a supply crate within deadly weather basically. ~Unique Gear/Captain's Hat~ Love this idea. If possible try and add a buff effect to the hat to make it more desirable. You could also add unique hats the person with the leader hat can assign. That way guards, and farms, builders, etc all are identifiable and have their own buff effect. Anyhow, that's plenty haha. Loved the video. Much love to you and yours. /Jon Bon
Hey thanks so much for all of the feedback! The zombie part of this boat was hard to figure out because there was only one way for them to enter (unless we just spawn them on the ship) but the zombies in the stash idea would’ve been genius if we thought of that earlier. And I’m glad you liked the captains hat and the adding players later on! They’re both something new we came up with and it makes me happy that people were so receptive to it.
love that i can tell you play Rimworld just by the weather events and the terms you used for some things.. hahaha Heat wave XD .. a heat wave would definitely suck in PZ cause u want the protective gear but its hot.. would be interesting to see a winter survival but it being mostly indoors would negate most of the risk so heat waves would be the killer
I wasn't a part of this event, but I already enjoy the passion in the comments from those involved. I'm excited to watch things unfold. I love to see the characters people create. Some people show up as themselves. Others go psychopathic, and it needs to be drawn out for as long as possible. A good story always has conflict. We need the villains to have accomplices that perform "deus ex machina" -- showing up to save the villain last second to create more mischief and storytelling/development. A failed plan usually isn't attempted again, but if somebody does, it would probably be funny.
the molotovs against the IRF was from me and roxx, we became RNC (unrelated to NCR) and threw more molotovs at the newer IRF base. Looking back on it, so many coincidences happened to put the IRF right where we went. We even asked them for a lighter to throw more molotovs at them WHILE THEY WERE SEARCHING FOR US BECAUSE WE THREW MOLOTOVS AT THEM. 11/10 event, would attend again
zeneth didnt know we threw the molotovs and prewarned us we were KOS so we just disbanded brutality (brut). When IRF was searching for brutality the faction no longer even existed lmao
@@HarvestZ Every event thrown is bloody amazingly done tho and much props to you and the mods for holding them!!! And to everyone attending making every video and live stream worth the watch.
Peaches was an awesome captain, too bad he didn't make it. It looked like most of his group scattered as soon as they came under fire, but one or two loyal guards tried to save him.
loved the ending, literally shows how a tiny decision can be a massive mistake later on. and btw if you were expecting a nice happy ending, you have not been paying attention!
In the end, the survivors were too headstrong to recover from the Captain's Death. I understand Jimik's motives inside, and his decision to hide. He backed off, rather than take them on. So Headstrong to take down everyone. He knew that they were wrong. Headstrong, they were headstrong and this is not, where they belooooong. 🎶Harvest can't give the location awaaaaaay🎶 🎶Harvest won't give the location awaaaaaaaaaaay🎶
I think how the last event turned out made for a fantastic story. Jmik thought it was in his best interest to keep the location of the captain's hat to himself instead of finding four others to help. He was wrong (or was he). That's life and I enjoyed watching these people meet their unfortunate yet inevitable end. Revenge is a powerful thing. P.S.: Could he have gotten over the side with a sheet to get the hat? Why didn't he save himself them?
For an experiment, you yourself should try to organize the entire roster into factions and then let each player decide throughout the game if they are gonna stick with the faction or leave it. You could elect leaders or have them hold their own elections. You could also move each faction to a random but separate part of the map. This way you have large groups already formed and more organization between teams.
It's like Harvest forgets that there's a difference between things he's seen and heard and what each player has. It isn't hard to remember that not every player knows everything you do about what's going on.
excellent idea! shout out to all the players that participate and make this shit so entertaining to watch. i can't believe i bought this game, played like 2 hours and never played again. felt so intense to me despite the graphics lol
@@HarvestZ yeah but even your voice is louder then the players when RU-vid advertisements kick in that is blasting through my speakers. It’s like you 50% players 20% RU-vid 100% volume
If I was running I would have promised to form a government (council) with representatives from each faction. The representatives could come together for regular meetings and discuss issues faced by their group and through democratic voting between the members of the council we would create policy to act upon.
Man. I need a PC. Lol. Liked the players coming later. Would be theatrical if people would truly fall into character. Like they're actually stuck on a ship. Not just being crazy for the sake of being so. Lol. Still great.
I know it’s a tone of work but really enjoy the highly edited version of these (like the mall ep!). Just hard to sit through a 4hr vid 😅Keep up the good work g🙌🏻 more will come
i think a good event for 100-200 people would be 2 factions with everyone split between the 2. Faction A is democratic and Faction B has 1 absolute ruler. whatever happens after happens (civil war, coup, war between factions, etc).
I think more people doesn't necessarily mean better. My favorite video of yours is when you joined the small server and met brother. These videos with over 100 people have good moments, but all our favorite parts are the people who go off on their own. I don't know how to make that happen or balance that, but I know I'd like to see more of the Island Guys, Glynn, Brother (when he wasn't a villain), and even Cult before they were popular.
same here. I thought.... a mixture of individual povs would be great for storytelling purpose. Don´t know if that´s possible in PZ as admin, but just "follow" some previosuly chosen chars, who are probably streaming themselfes anyway. I find it hard sometimes to get into the stories if there´s only the admin pov. as charming as our host is ;) "noooooooooooo" :D
The hat should actually have an effect, otherwise what would you expect? It should let the owner do something like execute one person every hour or something, or at least use the speakers to transmit messages across the ship.
Respect for what? IRF opened fire on everyone at the Smuggler event, what did they think was going to happen in return? Only fair they got hunted down for it. And then, they decide to screw everybody over by throwing the captains hat overboard, because their fragile little egos couldn't handle the retaliation they earned by their own actions.
IRF were being the irrational ones here, but it is also to the fault of everyone else and the original leader for not having a defense what so ever. Many were playing too casual, ignoring events and the hat off in their own corners and stuff. Maybe it was because many were new, but people just didn't seemingly care. What the leader needed to do was have a bigger "gang" around him just so information can be relayed out more quickly when something happens, and to get armed once the lower area was opened. He let himself get killed way too easily without a fight and everyone knowing right away. There were seemingly many untouched guns down below, those normally would have been snatched up and the area locked down, but the leader who wasn't even armed himself wanted to basically give it all to the trader.
@@Shade04rek exactly my thoughts, when the trader talked about trading his men, when they where still protecting the bridge :D For watching, it would be great if our narrator would also be delayed, so he could jump to the places where the acction just took place. Or start to take place
Why are you so mad? That's how these things go. I thought it was a fitting end considering how Peaches was a coward the whole time. Not to mention he said he'd let Bojangles say his peace and then just ran away saying to kill him.
@@Shade04rek i agree the ambush was a bad idea. a lot of IRFs decisions near the end were fueled by Bojangles feeding us false information off camera after he went below deck and ran into us. we we're just really out of the loop from living underground, so none of us knew he was lying. the streams and videos don't do justice to how confusing the events can be when you're in them.
IRF perspective and when we decided to kill peaches. Peaches didnt reach out to us even though they all knew about us. He also didnt fight with us when the horde came and my boys suffered and got bit defending the boat. We also were promised food but never got any help from the captain. Bojangles didnt really influence me to make the decision to kill peaches. I already disliked his leadership even before we found bojangles. You can also hear me say "Gentlemen, lets let them know what we think about that trade!" When i heard that peaches is trading food for weapons even though 10+ of my boys were starving. Thats when we opened up. Before that we tried to talk to peaches about the kill order on bojangles because we thought it was unjust (Hence why we are called Injustice Response Force or IRF) but he ran away and lied about where he was. So we killed him. Its not in the stream but right before I died, I told the remaining IRF to hide the hat because it brought too much heat and power.
Harvest ms Romero great again. I think you are the only one worldwide, hosting such events. Some others in Rust but not in PZ. So that´s a lot! not to mention all the new players you bring to PZ. to the problem of mixing old and new ones: Why not keep the 2 types of events. One "open for all", and in that event, people have to earn something to be "promoted" to next level. Why not something normally total useless? Money for example :D The real scripted events, which ARE simply a lot of work, why not limit them to 50. 40 earned and 10 wildcards? And I think it would be good, if it is more rewarding looting/killing zeds. AND to get rid of their corpses. If the zombies-killed count would be of any importance... I guess that would provide more realistic interaction. If you insert a captain-machanic, everyone should always know, who is in charge. but: great work! thank´s again When I had to leave... I paused the stream to continue it later. Was weird, watching the middle of the vid...with the end-chat only... the traderguards where the worst bodyguards ever! Has anyone lived shorter than the trader ? The guards should protect the hat at all cost. why not: the first one, they protect with guns, the second one only melee... The map had too many stories, imo. 2 would be enough. And you HAVE to protect the only entrance, dungeon master ;) in the end: forget half of what I´ve said. Great plot twist! still: Jimik would have been cooler if had gotten victory for his faction instead of revenge ;) Or honour But the end was the best! so....zomboid-esk. like the chat said "this is how you died"
Just sat fown and watched the whole vod. Not something I usually fo but this was fun end to end. I even switched the video over to my living room TV and watched it on the big screen XD I hope you plan to turn this into a video. The story you can tell would be good I think. Especially the tragic ending.
Maybe provide exclusive access to the "captain", with the hat acting like a key to other areas, or give them exclusive info on events like a minute before.
Maybe a bit too late of a comment, but have you ever considered setting up like one slot for a survivor to be able to bring his character to the next event based on who the viewers of the stream like best? Would be something like a fan favorite slot. That way however a plot goes, the viewers could choose who they liked the story of best.
There needs to be more incentive for people to try harder to stay alive. As a social experiment, it is currently a less accurate representation of society. People are more likely to take risks if there is no better incentive. It's like playing poker with just chips and no real money. People just all in all the time. I suggest that people who survive each event have a guaranteed spot for the next event. Then, people who died in the first event has to wait until the initial pool was exhausted. So if you have a pool of 300 and a 100-man event, you have to go through 200 more people before people who died on the first event can play again. You can also use money as an incentive like in the Hunger Games video but only if you can spare the funds.
For an idea if when you do another event like this, try having 1 person per faction or maybe the big factions be the Captain and/or leader to have the meetings to decide which groups do what if they want of course lol.
I like the small maps like the mall and the ship, the factions are really cool. I love these videos so much and there are barely any. Jacob was my favorite in the mall. Long Live Jacob
HarvestZ thanks for introducing me to this game. Please help me understand though... If D&D games have a Dungeon Master, then does that make you a Zombie Master?
Would it be possible to have a mod that turns what’s inside the zone into its own map ? That way the whole map doesn’t spawn in during events , only the area of play the rest just doesn’t even spawn in to save resources. I feel like the lag would be minimal if ONLY the boat and a patch of land for the bridge existed during the event instead of the entire map .
Can you do a Resident evil event based on Raccoon city? Like applying the resident evil mods and giving the people time to escape a city. It could be raven's creek or any modder big city. Then, set veteran players as the bosses to be released at some point to kill the players while dressed as Nemesis, William Birkin, Mr. X, etc. That would be cool to see
I really love to play with you all but I'm to stupid to ask how or for help so I don't know how I can., still would be fun at least I can see how it plays out
I love these videos, as they are random and fun... just one point, as a roleplayer.. You don't like when the players use meta, you should stop with the meta to. Your trying to influence them by saying, "Remember the hat is important." let the players figure it out themselves makes a much more intressing story arc than you telling them that it is important. In general, try to interfere with the story as little as possible. Thanks for great content, keep it up!
I dont own the game and dont think I will ever own it but was still able to watch 5 hrs of other people playing a made up scenario so that must say something lol
@@HarvestZ that's obvious "bruh" :). Look on it from my perspective. I don't play this game, I found your channel randomly, got hooked in civilization video (poor Brother) where Cult did mess a lot. It was so nice to watch. Other streams had them too but without impact of this first vid. Since you read my shit I think you overdo yourself with those mods here too much. Try something simple but with limits. Make a real fucking zombie apocalypse but let's say without firearms. Something to make people's life hard with or even without pvp. It's just a suggestion , outside that I keep it up :) And don't be annoyed - I'm nobody who just want's to have fun.
@@SnakeMajor I mean there were other ‘evil’ clans here regardless, there always seems to be some sort of group with bad intentions even if they’re not labeled ‘cult’
My sincer opinion, I've seen the video of rebuild civilization, the first one and I was attached to my chair, because it was edited, and even if it was long, all the video was edited which didn't make it boring. Being livestream, this turns to get annoying to watch, to much time for someone like me, that when needed to decide if I play or of I watch a 4 hours recorded livestream, you will lose a viewer. This is my honest opinion on what the focus should be, have a nice day.
lesson - nobody actually cares about captain. need more incentive for folks to care too busy with person or group needs to lose time fighting over nothing
Awesome videos. You should warn people that they will be removed from the event if they hot mic too much. If you don't have headphones or at least use push to talk, you become a nuisance to the content and to the other players.
