Wall to Wall Rats! Seldom does such a target rich environment present itself.
Following on from part 1 of this outing last week this is part two. Getting straight into the action this time, it was hard to know where to look at times. As it got later more and more Rats came out.
So sit back watch and enjoy as we take down a good number of these scaly tails.

I enjoy using my thermal spotter to spot the rats for my mate ‘almost’ as much as I enjoy shooting them myself, sometimes it pays to double team them👍🏼🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Thanks for showing us the correct way to use the scope . Without this knowledge shooting is not accurate . The trigger on the FX Impact MK2 is it as good as the trigger let off on the HW 97 .

This was an amazing rat shoot! Robin, can you turn the PIP off and on as desired? I would think in close quarters like that having the ability to see what is coming into view above the main crosshairs would be beneficial rather than having the PIP on all the time.

Hi and thanks for watching. Yes you can turn it off. I have a rabbit shooting session coming out soon with the same scope on my .22LR where you’ll get to see it with and without the PIP on. I find it helps for the longer range stuff.

Great video. What Air Rifle and caliber are you using? How often do you have to replenish your air tank as well?

It’s the Air Arms S510 Extra FAC in .22. Have to top up after about 65/70 shots. If you have the none FAC model it needs topping up every 80/90 shots. In .177 you get even more shots per fill.

I real must get some cameras mounted on my air guns for when we go ratting the 3 of us are known as the verminator LOL we go to rubbish transfer stations always a good hunt usually find the staff are complaining about the number of rats and the management dont see it so there is not a problem tiil we come in for a few hours then the managers change their view I shoot pigeons and all vermin on the farm👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I do not advocate body shooting with air rifle. You have precision rifles and NV/Thermal that give you a huge advantage so if I cant do a headshot then I would wait till I can.

I almost always will. Funny really as on almost all of my videos where I exclusively go for headshots. There’s a load of comments asking me why I don’t take body shots. So this time thought I’d show some. The next ratting video I filmed just this week is back to normal and all headshots.

It transpired this scope had an error with the LRF module itself, so Sportsman Gun Centre replaced that a few days later under warranty. I'll hopefully be back in the pests in a couple of days, then back down to rejoin Stu for more rat & feral -filled trigger team soon. Cheers. Russ

I enjoy these ratting videos as well as the foxing and squirrel shooting episodes. Our native grays over here in New York need control also, although it is considered a game animal. We do have a generous seasons but we can't bait them in like you can. I enjoy sitting in the woods waiting on them. It can be difficult to wait for the right moment for the shot without a pile of peanuts distracting them. They have that annoying habit of moving just when one is about to shoot. Nice shooting. Keep it up.

Thanks Daniel, I guess the difference is that the UK although plenty of people shoot. It’s not as prevalent as in the US. So without seasons and control most animals would be hunted to extinction, as they were here and in mainland Europe a few hundred years ago.

I'm a big fan of yours ,but the amount of shots that obviously have wounded and not killed humanity is disappointing, you had that many to shoot at why didn't you take your time and do it properly, ?

Hi Phil, thanks for your comment. It’s like this. I’m dammed if I do and dammed if I don’t. I get comments like “why don’t you ever body shot em” “can you only take head shots?” So I put some body shot in and draw criticism for that too. I’m not out to intentionally hurt anything. But when you shoot 100’s of moving targets that fidget about. At times, it’s inevitable there will be casualties.

@@TeamFoxer ok i take your point , but quite a few could have been avoided, like for instance i think it was the guy you were shooting with took a very deliberate " Texas hart shot , " and a few more where a bit of patience whoud have been prudent, i know they are "only rats" but even they deserve to be dispatched as humanly as possible, just my opinion, stay safe and shoot straight, 😁👍
