I identify with the woman who said she oversexualized herself for the first 30 years of her life. I just turned 30 last year and my view on sex is so completely different from what it was for the past ten years. In the three committed relationships I was in, sex was the only thing I was valued for. And I wanted sex all the time (even though it wasn't always great and most often didn't tend to my needs) because I thought that was the only form of love that I was capable and deserving of receiving. I tried so hard to be sexy and please my partners in the bedroom. And then the last partner was addicted to porn. After the initial excitement of the relationship's beginning wore off, which didn't last long at all, finally I wasn't even valuable for sex anymore. Because even though I tried, I could never ever compete with pornography. It's always gonna be new, it's always going to be more exciting, it's always going to offer more variety, it's always going to be more attractive, and it requires no effort to meet the needs of a partner when all you have to do is turn on a screen and have a wank. And I will always just be me, and I feel like that will never be good enough. Now my desire has diminished, I don't feel like a sexual being and I can't even fantasize anymore.
