Restoration Video Overview
A lot of hard work went into making this restoration video.This Mysterious Old Tool Was So Full of Rust. First i remove the rust And disassembled it and cleaned everything thoroughly. Now it is as new as ever and and also usable.

It can’t be a 100 years old! The Phillips screw had a patent just in 1936.

Looking at the product number 14-563 on that plastic cover, those are a pair of Stanley Fatmax straight cut aviation snips. Only a couple of years to a decade old at most. Fake video. Edit: Oh I just noticed it has date of manufacture in roman numerals lol. (MMXIV aka 2014)

At it's oldest, it would be 60-70 years old due to it containing plastic and Philips screws, so at the absolute oldest it would've been made in the mid 1940s

BS video! That is just rust colored mud. any tool that rusted would be heavily pitted to the extent that parts of the tool would be rusted through.

That was not underground for 100 years. Plastic did not come commercially available until the 1940s. Nice trick though. Next time just tell us that you found an old pair of cutters and that’s what you’re restoring.

That design was patented in 1934 by Karl Klenk, so, on the outside, the snips could only have been buried for 89 years -- much more likely, far less, considering the condition of the screw heads and the serations on the cutter edges. Plus, chromium molybdenum was developed in the 1960s-70s, which is strongly implied by the "CrM" mark on the cutters.
