nice! It takes a while i knoww. Honestly Gen 4 games are all awesome its hard to pick a fav for me. HGSS had so much content but platinum was so fun too. I put most of my hours in SS and Diamond. I havent been playing too much of those because I have been doing this gen but I want to make videos on those as well

It gets super deep. I try to not dive tooo deep because it becomes a numbers game and becomes a little much. Maybe this is too much for people however its just right for me haha

must have alot of memories with the game! This was also my first video game every. I saw my friend and his brother playing it in like kindergarten. Was one of the coolest things ive ever seen lool

I love how easy it is to train too level 100 in firered and leafgreen. The high level trainers post game being in the 50s help alot.

@@robmalcolm8042 so much easier than in emerald IMO. I wish there was more trainers or higher levels in that game

@nostalgicnighthawk yeah the rebattle system in emerald sucks too so that doesn't help. Even rebattling wally takes forever. The league isn't that strong so it takes even longer. At least in ruby and sapphire the sky pillar has high level wild pokemon unlike emerald. And firered and leafgreen have the league going into the 70s in a rematch.

@@robmalcolm8042 yeaa emerald really needed some high level training zone! I forgot R/S has the sky pillar. That a good spot

the sprites in gen 3/4 are my favorites. IMO they progressively got lazier.

surprisingly the first level 100 i ever had was in Black and White 2 XD. I used to restart the games before ever getting a pokemon that high!

I beleive I transfered it to gen 4/5 for the pokedex. It was something like that

I did it in sapphire! Yea emerald soft resetting is weirdd. Ruby and sapphire are fine to soft reset but your battery cannot be dead

you can run away in emerald and it respawn when you reenter the room without setting rng seed to 0

150 hours is a GOOD playthrough with these games, after that its like all that you could have done is done. HGSS is an exception!

the screen on my modded SP is the IPS screen. This is much brighter and cripser than the original screens IMO!

getting a shiny is a pleasant surprise! Stinks you didnt get it tho :( Hope another one shines!

did the same man haha it crazy how many people did this instead of just sticking with a save file! I think that initial rush of a new adventure is what made us do it. Im itching for a new save file right now. Highly recommend playing again. Takes me back to being a kid every time i pick these games up!

I play pokemon since i was 7 years old and now I am 32 I started playing pokemon red and blue in my GBC... then played all poke games until now that I have the Nintendo switch purple/violet, but I don't play meta anymore ur videos made me feel nostalgic and I downloaded a gba emulator and games lol

I didnt know u can still shiny hunt without the battery in emerald! I guess you cant soft reset but it makes sense u can do runaways. Whats the reason behind 4 rayquazas??! Not saying you need any reasons i am just curious haha. I want to get another ray

@@nostalgicnighthawk well, the reason I got 4 of them is simply that he’s my favorite. Initially, I wanted 1 for my omega ruby, 1 for Pokemon moon (which is the newest game I own), 1 for Pokemon bank, and 1 for any newer game I might decide to get later on down the road. At one point, I accidentally killed shiny kyogre and couldn’t for the life of me; find him again. This prompted me to restart the game from scratch. So once I restarted the game I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to catch my 4th shiny rayquaza. Like I said previously, this all took place over like a year and a half, so I had different ideas on what I wanted to do with my shinys. In the end I decided to just keep them all on omega ruby so I could have an entire team of O.P, shiny legends in a single game. Origin kyogre, origin groudon and a spam of rayquazas! Haha. Really like that shiny metagross you have by the way!

I agree shiny ray is legit the coolest pokemon out there. Man killing a shiny is rough, I did it once in ORAS with Virizion! I respect 4 rays but you know... you need 2 more for a full team now haha! Yea metagross is awesome too@@Nerocaratic

@@nostalgicnighthawk I did consider actually trying for 6! Lmao, after finally catching my kyogre, I felt it was time to try for shiny charizard. I am thinking about trying for a larvitar after my charizard (and then mewtwo). That’s wild about the Virizion! you can only catch him 2 days out of the week if I’m not mistaken? So if you save in front of him will it still be there on the other days? Also, was that doing run aways or soft reset?I haven’t tried hunting for shinys in any newer games yet. I’ve literally played my d.s lite so much, that you can see wearing in the plastic surrounding the direction pad and buttons! The buttons have also lost “sensitivity”… so you gotta press relatively firmly.. I am actually looking on marketplace for a local, good deal on a new (to me) one.. you could say I have a problem 😅

Hope you get the charizard soon! For Virizion in ORAS there was a portable that appeared once u found it. I dont fully remember... but it was was something like that. I think yea u need to save in front of the portal. That is when you know you played a lot haha. Ey there nothing wrong with buying another. Some people get rid of good condition ones for cheap! Those need a new home. I need a new DS lite soon. Mine are destroyed.

TBH at the end of the day if you feel happy and accomplished, that is all that matters. Everyone can have a different adventure! I personally wouldnt want to do that just because I want to try to do everything as original as possible, but that is just how I want to experience these games! Doesnt make it right or wrong

@nostalgicnighthawk Yeah! Another nearly impossible to get gen 3 shiny you can find in XD is Gligar in the pokespots. The only way to get him otherwise is in the emerald safari zone extension where his catch rate is really really low. I plan on going for both of them once I get my shiny bulbasaur in leafgreen.

Rayquaza is the BEST. My favorite too! U need to first get to rayquaza which is after the 7th gym i believe? Then you save in front of rayquaza and just soft reset mannnny times until it appears. If you do that you need to ensure your battery is not dry in emerald. The battery is not terribly hard to replace if you need to, just be careful. Also in emerald there is a runaway trick to hunting rayquaza. I would just look it up on YT since that easier than explaining.

You will need to watch a lot of videos or look up forms online and use several games to get them all! I know you need emerald or like Gale of Darkness to get the johto pokemon. Emerald safari zone is the easiest if you do not have a game cube

I want to keep it as true as possible however like you said there are some cool things to experience with the glitching. I worry tho, does that berry glitch mess up the file?? I heard it can. Not sure if that was just a fear factor to stray people away from it

Yea was lucky! it would really stink if it was a bad nature. A neutral nature is acceptable but a hindering is baddd.

Charmander learns it at like level 7 so it sort of means you kept it the whole game and decided it was worthy of 1 of 4 slots in the move set. No one would really go to the move tutor and have that move taught if they erased it haha. On top of that, there are many other good fire moves (flamethrower/blast burn/ fire blast) that ember is essentialy worthless. Flamethrower is just ember but better.

I dont have experience with the reproductions and have only heard from others about that possibility. Even if you get a real copy of the game there are changes the file can get corrupted or destroyed from something such as a drop of water. I think it comes down to how much you intend on playing the game and if you can justify the current prices. If I were you, I would get a new copy. However that is because I know I would be playing the game a lot and I like having the real versions of the game. Hope my responds helps!

@@fernandezangelesadrian2851 I would get a real copy. I meant a legitmate copy not a reproduction, sorry if there was confusion. I would watch some videos and stuff online to ensure you are getting a real copy of the game. Even then there is a risk however the risk is lower!

@@p1nkf1oyd13 In gen1&2 the battery is required to keep a save, so once it runs dry your save file will simply disappear.

100% agree, the difficulty is what made it purposeful!

@@nostalgicnighthawk 100% I spent most of Covid playing platinum. Just training up pokemon who I thought were cool. Feel like the sprite designs just made them look so much cooler..

i played omega fire red i belive and that was FUN! It had aron, bagon, and LARVITAR in Mt.Moon. Emerald Kaizo was cool too but I didnt get far into it. I would go back and do that again.@@yogaflame7884

@@nostalgicnighthawk Yeah i need to check omega out, looks good. If youre looking for gen 2 rom hack i'd recommend storm silver. Although normal gen 2 has red at the end which is pretty damn hard on its own lol. Unless you grind a bit.
