Mine was: 5 years to gain 100 subs 1 yr 10 months to gain 1000 subs 1 yr 7 months to gain 2500 subs (Then I quit because of school, but now returned since October 2020) 5 months to gain almost 5000 subs
So true.. i feel like it will take me a long time.. but I am having so much fun recording and uploading content that i am not that concerned.. it will come at some point. Have a great day
It took me about 6 months. The key for me was finding a niche, be constant and insisting on that niche, and wait for an opportunity. That opportunity appeared one day and by month four I jumped from 350 to 730 im two weeks, one of my videos got viral among the niche, about six weeks later I reached 1k subs and 8k+ hours.
After 9 months I’m now at 720 subscribes and what I’m noticing is that the subs are definitely climbing way more consistent now than the beginning where it seems subs would only come once a week. Thank you for the great tips! And an encouragement to everyone kee going!
I’ve been on my RU-vid journey for about 8-9 months now, and I hit 4000 watch hours about a month ago but I’m still at 900 subs. I think it would be interesting to see whether on average, 4000 watch hours or 1000 subscribers is harder.
It just happened this week for me actually - it’s taken 30 videos over about 6 1/2 months. Your tips have been super helpful. I’m pretty chuffed with that: it’s been pretty quick. Just focused on making a better video, and doing it every week: I think focusing on what you can control, not results is the key. Thanks for the vid :)
@@BetterCreating Now I need to know! When did you hit 4k watch hours? My money is on "under a year". EDIT: Holy crap, Batman... 22k subs. You are rocking it. Congrats!
5 months and about 100 videos. Started mid-April 2020 and hit 1000 in September. I hit the 4000K watch time very quickly because I had a 15 minute video get many views and long retention at the start. Now, 3335 subs - 182 videos - 425,000+ views, somewhere around 1.4million minutes watch time. I’m committed to doing this for 3 years - one week at a time.
May be doubling rate reduces by half as you cross 1000 subscribers as reach is double. Keep up good work. We are about to reach 100 Subscribers. Trying to create daily exercising habit with daily workout videos.
We earned 19 subscribers today. It feels good to reach this accomplishment. Working hard for 20. Thank you Rob and Vidiq for your great, detailed information. Keep the information coming!
It's taken me almost a year of occassional (monthly) dance fitness videos to get just over 200+ subscribers. Then I signed up with VidIQ, and Think Media, changed my thumbnails and edited my videos more, then uploaded weekly and added another 100 subscribers in last 3 months. Commitment rather than dabbling made a big difference so far!
@@saltwaterdvd don't worry bro...just keep focusing on the right things and watch a ton of youtube growth videos😜 and apply those principles...you will definitely reach your goal subscriber count!

I just hit 1000 after 7 years. It took awhile to figure out what I wanted to do with my channel. But about 2-3 years ago.. I figured it out and have a sig intro.. sig out and a formula that works for me. I take people on adventures that I am enthusiastic about and upload at least one long form a week and shorts sprinkled in. I am about 1/2 way to watch hours to be monotized but my first long goal had been attained and it feels good knowing it's all organic. :)
I’m much closer to 1k subs thanks to vidiq boost!!!! Learned so much from these guys. Now I’m in 700 subs in 3 months like what?! 😱 and I absolutely agree with what rob said “focus on here and now!” Period.
yep. i second that. YT is full of clickbait of ppl and channels claiming how to generate 1000's of subs overnight. Wish YT would clean up this platform
Took me around 6 months to hit both the 1K subscribers and 4k watch hours goal. The pandemic helped as my content was on ZOOM/OBS etc. Nearing 2K in 9 months.
Hey I'm new here and so far these video's has helped make my RU-vid channel grow and i just wanna say thank you and congratulations on 800k subscriber's
My first 5 months were “the learning experience”. Random content, no strategy, but hit the 100 subscriber mark. The last two months I dialed in and started doing the research and now I’m at 337 subs. The information you guys have provided has been awesome and so helpful in this journey!
@@SilverStubier if your goal is subs do youtube shorts. i have 20-30 subs who are people i know irl, maybe 2 or 3 subs from normal videos, and the rest of my subs (about 100 more) are from youtube shorts. If you make a decent short you can definitely get 100 subs off one video.
It took me 9 months to go from Zero to 1K Hero and only 1 and a half months to make another 1K after that . . . . . 😱 It is all thanks to Rob and the crew teaching me all about Shorts that really got it going for me, thank you vidIQ 😀
I am 2 years into my RU-vid journey, currently at 174. Not too bothered if I reach 200, 1000 or 100000. I am enjoying what I am doing, and hope that others will enjoy it too. To the viewers and commenters best of luck in acheving you goals.
I've been on RU-vid for 7 years without ever reaching even 300 subs, some time ago i found this channel and now i'm planning to start a more serious journey. Lets see how long it takes
No matter how long it takes as long as you are enjoying what you're doing and you keep grinding you will definitely geyt there. Just enjoy the ride till you reach that milestone and it will be sweet accomplishment for you 👍💪🙏
It took me close to 3 years to hit 1k but it was the same time for the 2k bc Shorts boosted me pretty good, without i would have like 400 subs at the same point
To those that need to hear it keep on the grind that is YT keep moving forward towards your goals. success comes to those who never give up . You do you.
It took me just under 6 months. How did I do it? Consistency. Upload 1 video, Every. Single. Week. No excuses. Give value to your viewers and you'll get there, no matter what niche you're in. I wish it was more complicated but it's as simple as that... and it worked for me!
@@ThatGingerPhotographer People want actual results and this is my result. Did I have to make sacrifices? Ofcourse. Am I tired of uploading every week? You bet. Would I change the way I do things? Not for a second. Having your own channel is something that is extremely liberating. YOU make the decisions, YOU create your own timetable, YOU decide if you succeed or not. So... how much are you willing to put in?
I feel fantastic surpassing 1K and being monetized. But I don't get big views and everything is not good. I Really need to grind out on RU-vid, and get active subs and all goodies. I think I will hit 100K around 2022. RU-vid growth is exponential if you work hard and know what you are doing 👑
I am enjoying every minute of this journey to 1000 subs!! I have learned so much and am improving with every new video. Thank you for another great video, I loved that quip at the end hahaha 😂
According to Socialblade, I should hit my 1000 subscriber mark about a month before my 1 year anniversary. Not sure how accurate that is, but I would be happy regardless if it is before or around my 1-year mark. I know one RU-vidr who has been doing this for years and still only has less than 300 subs. I just hope I don't stall like them in my subs count for any length of time.
I think its because you play fortnite. Dont get me wrong its not a bad game but try some different ones. Friday night funkin is getting popular and its free
It took me 3 months to get to 100 subscribers, and then 7 days to get 15 subscribers since I started the 50 videos in 50 days challange. Bottom line, I think uploading daily for some days when one is new on RU-vid can help the channel to grow a little bit faster. Regarless, as long as you're enjoying creating, keep pushing fam.
I'll suggest you to upload shorts and try to upload 3-4 vids in a day Bcoz if you will see other creator's they have 100-400vids but the grind is for 4-5 yrs.. Think how can they pass their limit how they have ks and million of subs.
It took me roughly 3 years to get the stats. I am now waiting for approval for YPP.. It feels good to be able to comment this..keep posting those videos and keep improving your content. Your hard work will pay off sooner or later. Don’t compare yourself to others just keep getting better! You be surprised who watching your channel and who will give your channel a shoutout
Don't lose heart and keep adding value to your subscribers. It's better to get 100 follower who believe in you and get benefitted with your content rather than 100000 subscribers with no value addition.
Been at this for 19 weeks now and have 230 Subscribers. Quicker than I thought to get here, but can see how it can be a long road to reach high numbers. Best of luck everyone in your journey.
@@WARYAFITNESS i dk, they're under a minute and they're the right format (rectangular made with a cellphone). Nothing on RU-vid is guaranteed, or a given. nothing.
What a coincidence! I am subbed to you! ha! My wife and I enjoy your content. We follow you on Odysee as well. I have a dog channel that I just started in April. 15 subs and the count hasn't moved in 2 weeks. :(
I'm just going to say something horrible... And I mean it with good intentions, I swear. But most people's content is just not good. If you spend two days editing a video, and another two hours making the thumbnail, and you research how to improve and implement proven tactics, your odds just skyrocketed of reaching these milestones. But you cannot expect to NOT treat it like a FULL TIME job and get the results. Even if you treat it as such, you're not guaranteed to have people flock to your channel as you'd expect. That's the reality of RU-vid, and it's a tough pill to swallow. I'm still new at this, and I never expected it would become my full time job so fast. I enjoy it, but my expectations are definitely realistic at this point.
I've been on RU-vid for 3+ years. But I only started taking it seriously last summer (actively improving my camera presence and channel, uploading 1-2 times a week rather than every other month, promoting across social media, learning how to edit, etc.). Since last summer, I've gone from around 60 subs to over 700. I'm hoping to be able to monetize my channel by the end of June. (Which, given my analytics, I'll probably have enough subscribers for it. Watchtime is another story...)
I can tell you quite simply; we average 4 subs for every 1000 views, and that is considered an average subscription rate. Low is 1 or 2, and high is 5 and over. So ya, it really boils down to the views as to how quickly you will grow..We post creative videos mostly about Mexico.., so i guess we're a little niched .. Anybody who thinks in any way, shape, or form that RU-vid is easy, is not in reality-this platform is super saturated!..but we keep going... :-D We also have a few vids on dailymotion, but dailymotion just doesn't generate the views as YT does. We posted a few realistic videos on RU-vid growth, they're in our playlists
@@bhg582 What helped a little in my case was having a KEY Channel Focus and good Quality videos. And to give it a push I paid for some google Ads as well
Just hit 1000 today. It has been about 14 months. Keeping in mind we are political channel and have been suspended twice (total of one month) and our content is not necessarily on Google's side of politics, you may be able to pull it off quicker. The real key is to just enjoy the ride and enjoy what you are doing. Most of the channels you see that have tens of thousands of subs have been at it for years and many doing it full time. It's all relative.
6 months in and got 237 subscribers so far. But really I am not doing this for the numbers. I enjoy creating my videos, everything else doesn't matter. Keep going and good luck.
Around 3 months since i started. I got 500+ subs. The content quality matters i should say. I experimented on how to grow. I keep updating my edit style in every upload to make it interesting. 😁
