I have not heard of the Ocean Devil. Any reviews on the reel anywhere?

Ocean Devils are the single drag version of the Jigging Master PE reels I believe, so lower max drag numbers but they are indestructible. manufactured by Jigging Master, jignpop.com normally has them in stock, although they dont seem to right now.

A slow pitch rod shouldnt be fought like it. I know this rod can which is the reason its not a slow pitch rod, defeats the purpose of using a slow pitch rod

Nice catch all though the rod your using is too heavy for slow jig and two-part rod should have snapped (lucky it didn't) you need Hearty Rise rods slow jig 3 650gm (1 pc 1.94 cm ) check'm out on this website www.oceandevil.com/rods
