i'm 333 hours into this game and tip 46 blew my mind. i knew you could click into each icon on the map, but had no idea about the extra menu. really great list overall, and really great presentation.
A tip I got was if your in the capital city go to the main rift stone and search for level 2 pawns that have the travel with and the reward is a wakestone shard, hire two of these, then sit and doze for that amount of time and rince and repeat till you get a full wakestone, do this over and over again till you have 5 or 6 wakestones and viola! you never die:)
If you're struggling to find the Towering Earth grimoar, or Waldhar (caged magistrate) didn't give it to you for any reason (in my playthrough he didn't give it to me for almost 'til the endgame for some reason), you can Plunge it as a Thief from an NPC called Elsa in Battahl. If you google her location there will be a reddit post with a map marking 3 palces she wanders at. I've seen forums that other people are struggling with it too, so it might help someone out.
Im 50hrs in and loving it waaaay more than i thought i would. I have some gripes but its the perfect RPG im looking for. Love not heing handheld, yet constantly having options to progress in any way available. ❤
You mentioned meat aging and noted about them rotting, but you didn't mention that combining rotten items will make lantern oil. So they aren't necessarily a bad thing to have.
If you go warfarer and use a sleep arrow from magic archer and then switch to any slicing weapon, you can put medusa to sleep and very very easily cut off her head. But it decays super quick so put it in your stash to use later. Don't save the head for end game though, the game force decays them.
Just hit level 70 after about 230 hours. Still not ready to initiate the final Godsway quest as i'm having too much fun. Also found out from youtubers that there are at least 5 or 6 quests that i didnt even know existed!. lol....guess it's going to be a long while before i even hit the Unmoored world. GOTY for me!
@@mephistoxarses8585 From personal experience, if you want to play NG+ then you're quite ready yet. It's not a bad thing to leave 1 or 2 things to explore in the new playthrough. If you don't want to NG+, then I say you're playing the game right. I just started NG+ at 180h.
I'm quite surprised about some of the things I found here too, and I recently found a new tip after uploading this video. Apparently you can throw a bunny on a charging minotaur or garm and they'll get knocked out. Pretty cool!
All this time… I never knew different locations had different smithing upgrades. I always wondered why they were different colors sometimes. I feel so stupid!!
Magick Archer and Trickter are the two vocations I've yet to really try. I'm definitely going to be doing a playthrough with them at some point though as Magick Archer carried me hard in Bitterblack Isle in DD1!
I made my pawn unique, picked out a fitting moniker, but assumed that would be the pawn’s name 😓 Now I have a great pawn who is only named “MainPawn” and I can’t change it! So mad at myself lol
My girlfriend started out with a female pawn but decided midway to turn her pawn into a dude and make him look like me IRL. Now, she has a male pawn, who looks like me, named Meredith. We feel your pain.
It’s kind of annoying how if you play this game completely blind without research you won’t get anything out of it. I mean romances, gear, vocations etc are features that are very easily missed even if you explore all the time if you don’t know about certain features. Vocations are probably the hardest to miss if you just explore both maps thoroughly but side quests are things you have to actively seek out as there’s no direction anywhere which requires you to aimlessly wander around for hours so you have to know beforehand that you should avoid main quests like the plague since there’s so few of them and they lock you out of most content without warning.
I was in Moonlight Tower but the cutscene didn't trigger. Didn't do any main quest after meeting King beneath the lake and taking his sword. Maybe that is the case.
I've beaten this game so many times at this point and played other games since it was released but I'm still getting the itch to replay because of that sweet combat system. If this gets a DLC I'm going all in again on DD2.
Number 62 is one of those bizarre ones that like no one would figure out on their own. Well, not no one as someone obviously did. lol. But most people would never figure it out on their own. There are a lot things like this in this game. I hate using a guide or looking stuff up but I’ve had to multiple times to figure things out because they are so bizarre and cryptic.
Apparently that guard goes away but I've played the game multiple times and she was always there. Maybe @melsofthestars is right and that's the easier method, it was fun trying it out this way though!
I killed the spy from bakbattahl in my first play through so missed the reward if I had carried him to the soldier station by the front gate or to Brant . Also giving low value deliveries to quest in front of the hospital church at the slums probably made me miss out on logistician scroll. Giving less than all the tomes to the sorcerer girl will make you miss out on the celestial peon master skill as I did not receive it I think. And I really believe the jadeite orb quest is a big scam by all 3 parties to resell and forge the damn thing.
number 85 is way too funny for me...there is no other characters other than granpda dwarves and GREGOR??? so you're saying i have high affinity with these old guys...
A tip if you played dragon's dogma 1, you'll have a decent grasp on how the game works. Try meele only. Personally I find mages and sorcerers and sometimes archers to be op in pawn hands. So get a pawn with the potion skills and it gives a different kind of management to the game. Mainly I just use fighters but I add the odd thief, warrior or archer from time to time. I'm usually a warrior or warfarer warrior fighter hybrid.
No character creation is kinda a big letdown for me. Coming from BDO where character creation was nuts, I was really excited for a game with more single player focus. Seems like this games is more in the vein of a Devil May Cry/Ninja Gaiden/Witcher vibe
There is character creation in this game though? Not to mention I think DD2's character creation is the best one in all the games I've played, including BDO.
For sure, my OCD goes into overdrive! But it gives the game another layer of replayability. Games like this, I tend to do my first run blind, then read/watch guides, just to see different paths, and things I completely missed.
Usually they will mention something along the lines of “what is that, the light catches it” or something similar and it will appear on your mini map as an exclamation point
On my most recent playthrough I opted to not Medusa head him and he actually killed said 2 bosses for me, voiding a few hundred extra wyrmslife crystals that you'd normally get from fighting them.
18:25 pretty sure enemies do scale but maybe only after respawn. I was running around with the exp boosting bow/ring for a while and the enemies seem to have out scaled me drastically.
