23:25 it's honestly one of the reasons I have a hard time Falling asleep. It happens once every few weeks. Imagine waking up and knowing you're up, but, you can't talk, move at all, then all the sudden in the blink of an eye you're "awake" and freaking the hell out.

This is probably my favourite 101 facts video (so far) that i've ever seen. Some of your facts i learned in psychology courses at university, however what always took my professor 60 minutes to explain you guys seem to be able to sum up in a matter of seconds. Next, this is a top video in my opinion because you took a very science based approach. My favourite aspect of your channel is that I am effectively learning new things, and I'm being entertained along the way. Excellent work, those of 101 facts! I think you guys should do a 101 Facts video ABOUT 101 FACTS! (if you haven't already... if so, please send me the URL as I am too lazy to use the search bar) I guarantee you I'm not the only viewer who would love a little peek into the lives of the lovable characters that are Sam and Clive also are there other people at 101 Facts or are you two just extreme advocates of the board game Trivial Pursuit?

Sam, just a correction, we are vertebrates. Invertebrates are animals that dont have spines, i.e crustaceans, molluscs etc.

This is very interesting 🤔 especially for myself as I am a survivor of a Brain Tumor 🧠 & I have had multiple MRI scans of my brain so I smiled before each number where you showed a small MRI...Also incase you thought WTF to the fact that you can have certain types of brain surgery whilst awake. I can tell you through experience that yes that is true, when my parents asked me about how I felt through brain surgery I said “What? I thought I was going to be put to sleep...they did it while was awake?!?” They said “YEAH! WHAT DO YOU THINK THEY WERE DOING AROUND YOUR HEAD!”

Rrrreally sick of people claiming you can't tickle yourself. I can't scratch my foot without it being absolute hell. Though to be fair I am a bit more sensitive than the average person...maybe that's the reason?

I've lived with #68 for my entire life. No doctor has been able to tell me what it is, since sleep paralysis is supposed to feature scary shapes, as the brain is still dreaming. Mine isn't. I just wake up before my body does, and while I don't think it is extremely frightening (anymore), it is definitely extremely uncomfortable and hard to get used to.

11:42: I have a perfect example of this. the left part of the brain that controls short term memory for me was damaged before/during birth. Well, I learned just a few months ago that the right side of my brain has taken control of my short term memory.

I am 27 and I have synaesthesia. When I was younger I couldn't understand why april has always been red and July has always been yellow. Just hearing the Number six makes me see a pinecone and hearing 100 makes me see a slice of Battenberg cake. But apart from that the other numbers don't make me see anything. My synaesthesia is also with certain sounds, words and songs. For example a trumpet played at a high pitch looks orange, and a klaxon sound is yellow. But these sounds must be at a certain pitch, if they are higher or lower it will not trigger the synaesthesia. The fret squeak sound when some people play the guitar makes me cringe. And the words burst and moist are awful they make me cringe. Yet the words moisturiser or moisture don't bother me, it is just when the word is said on its own. When I was younger and I would try to explain to people what was happening they just told me I was associating, but I knew it was happening automatically in my brain. And this really frustrated me as I felt that I wasn't being understood because when ever I tried to explain what I was experiencing, people just dismissed it as me associating. I researched it properly and since I was 18 I know for definite the name of what I have is synaesthesia. It's not always colours I see though, when it comes to certain songs it is mainly images or memories or certain chords make me feel certain emotions. This is why it's more songs will make me burst into tears than affects other people.I have an excellent memory, and when researching into the synaesthesia properly I discovered that the memory is a benefit of it. I can remember certain conversations from when I was six years old and I remember being four years old as if it were yesterday. I even remember to the point where I remember the date that certain things happened in my past. But when it comes to other kinds of memory for example number combinations, I find that quite difficult. I am quite certain I am on the autistic spectrum as I do have some autistic traits and have been told by some friends that they are sure I have it a bit. I would never get rid of my synesthesia if anybody ever offered a cure. I would probably get rid of some of the not so good autistic traits though, but I learned from my research into the synaesthesia that some autism often comes linked with it. If I could get rid of any of the autistic traits I would get rid of is that I get very attached to certain people very easily and they have sometimes called me to clingy. My ex was very horrible, and had a go at me because I can get frustrated easier than most people. But I can't help it. Just to confirm, by this I don't mean over the top frustrated like proper lose my temper or something, I mean that most people accuse me of not letting things go and struggling to drop things. But like I said with the synaesthesia, I think it is an amazing gift to have

I remember all of my dreams, and i am an advent lucid dreamer. For some reason, as soon as my environment shifts really fast in my dreams i am aware of it. for example: i am in my house, then bam im at the beach.

I woke up and couldn't move once. I thought I saw someone standing over me in the dark. I tried to scream for help, but couldn't even open my mouth. So I scream-moaned as loud as I could for help. None came. I regained control of my body after a few seconds to a single minute, but I haven't slept in complete darkness since. Sleep paralysis is absolutely terrifying.

I have a congenital condition called hydrocephalus. It's a CSF infection that causes a blockage in the ventricles of the brain. Depending on the location if the blockage, the resulting pressure can cause paralysis, blindness, deafness, memory priblems, seizures or even sudden death. I was paralyzed in my left side until age 3, in 1968. As of 2012, I'm legally blind.

Due to a medical condition, my cerebellum was squashed down into my spinal cord... I have always been able to tickle myself, as well as being able to stop myself feeling tickles, depending on who is tickling me......
