I always thought of goal planning was for really big things and I found it very hard to figure out what my goals were. Seeing things like celebrating your birthday or learning a new recipe on your goals list opened up the possibility for me to actually set goals for myself. Thanks for sharing this.
@Cordelia0704p
@Cordelia0704p 6 месяцев назад
I think we all do that. At least, I know I do, and it's still hard to not be like oh that's a task it's not a goal, for anything that isn't big.
@JashiiCorrin
@JashiiCorrin 6 месяцев назад
Glad you found it useful! 💜 I don’t like to restrict my goals based on them needing to be big, even if I totally sometimes fall into the trap of thinking “this should be bigger” 👀 need to remind myself that not every goal needs to be a huge life-changing thing 💪

@JashiiCorrin for me, I don't think it ever occurred to me that they could be little things. I'm going to do something like this in the back of my hobonichi now!

You could google SMART goals, we use that acronym in my work. It’s a way to set goals in a way that’s achievable. Like making a series of small goals that help achieve a bigger goal. As a teacher, I’ve taught kids how to do this to set their learning goals without being overwhelmed. Just an idea 💡

I wanted to say thank you so much for normalizing imperfection and realistic scale in your videos. I know one of my biggest challenges in trying to maintain a journal practice is feeling ashamed when I don’t complete all the elements (lists, trackers, etc) that I set myself up for… largely because I tend to make those goals unnecessarily “big”! It’s so much more accessible and realistic to say “these are some things - little and big alike - that I’d like to do, but won’t be beating myself up over if I don’t”. Thanks again ❤

I was doing a post-Christmas cleanup today, and after organizing my desk I thought 'hmm... I have a lot of empty notebooks. What am I gonna do with these?' Clearly, Google was listening, because here I am! 😂 I'm not much of a bujo girlie (I'm too indecisive), but I've wanted to try a doodle-scrapbook journal for a few years and never got around to it. Maybe I'll start a journal just for my list! You could make a short (or not) journal entry for items that are more fun, and include a little scrap, souvenir, or doodle along with it! Next year I want to focus on small adventures - giving myself little things to look forward to so I don't spend all of my time stressing about the big things. I don't think I'll make my list 101 items though... maybe I'll shorten it to 40 or 50 for now.

One of my 101 items is to read a book that your book club is reading and I just got a second entry, to do your readathon so I really hope you put this together. Some others of mine are: volunteer for something, plant something, purchase someone's order behind me in the drive-thru, go apple picking, take a pottery class, and go to a play.

Dunno if you've already filled up your spaces and still need ideas, but here are a couple of mine from the list I just started on 01 March since I totally forgot to make my 101 Things at the appropriate time 😂 • Make and serve a 5- course meal. • Visit the butterfly exhibit at Cox Arboretum. • Stop in at every branch of the Dayton Metro Library. • Go bowling with my husband. • Make and send Xmas cards. • Dye my hair pink. • Draft a memoir. • Read a banned book. • Attend 6 OA meetings in person. • Hang wall decor now that we've lived a year at this address. • Purchase office chairs. • Attend a writing retreat. • Get my passport. • Ride the ferris wheel at the Montgomery County Fair. • Eat at the Troy Strawberry Festival. • Attend the Cincinnati Pride Parade.

This is creative to do to keep tabs on new activities to accomplish throughout the year. I think for me it would be easier to do month to month goals and activities in the year since my life is filled with surprises that may hinder or enhance my bullet journal experiences. Overall, very good realistic goals and thank you for sharing. You're a good journal mentor Jashii!

Your 101 things and 2x for 202x lists always give me inspiration for mine, thank you! A couple from my list are going for a walk downtown at night with my boyfriend and doing NaNoWriMo. Some people might find walking around the downtown of a large city to be unsettling but for some reason I find it super relaxing, and there are some areas of my downtown that are really pretty at night. And doing NaNoWriMo is super loose here, because I don't think I'm going to have the time to officially participate, but I want to see how even just doing it for myself will help my writing.

I am seriously considering doing this for 2024. The 1st 4 months of my year are crazy as a tax preparer in the US, so big goals don't tend to do well in those 1st 4 months. Last season could have been making it to the bed before falling asleep. Most of it was spent sleeping in my recliner. (Different meds then so might be a bit better this year.) But this and the 24 in 2024 are certainly looking like a good, productive, motivational tool. Extra tools in the tool box are always beneficial. This month has been 24 by 2024. I have way more, but I do 1 list at a time or as it nears completion, I replace completed ones with new things that come up.(Using milestones as stage goals and then upscaling as I go has been a successful go to for years.) I got diagnosed this year over the summer with ADHD complex as my inattention, inner hyperactivity, and low impulse control/emotional control were severe. Hyper focus has always been my best friend in the past in relation to important things. Heck, I have called my parents to say I was staying home to keep cleaning while the need to clean everything was consuming me. I mean I moved furniture to clean under and decluttered areas doing it so it is always a running joke and open offer (both parents are disabled so pain feeds into everything for them) to come do theirs after if still consumed in the hyper focus. My cousin about 6 years younger than me was diagnosed earlier, and she said her hyperfocus was never that beneficial. She said she'd forget to set alarms like I do to break the focus, so I told her how I cheat and set them for every day so they turn themselves back on without me having to do it. The only time I need to adjust is tax season where I can set my fitbit to buzz my wrist as reminders to eat, tske a few minutes break, time sensitive meds.... A set schedule keeps me better regulated as well.

What an excellent idea for a spread! I started making mine while watching yours. A few I've included so far are: buying a shed, planting a cottage/xeriscape garden, getting CPR-certified (not job-related, just because it could come in handy!), get all of my needed dental work taken care of, start hiking regularly, and complete the 1000 Hours Outside challenge.

I hope you don't mind me giving a suggestion, but you may want to look into a First On The Scene training, either with or instead of the CPR training as it also gives Stop the bleed, AED, Narcan, and Epi-Pen training with some basic 1st aid & a little CPR, too. Check with your local EMS, hospital, or American Heart Assoc. about it. Oh! And it's good for 4 years.

I was making notes while listening add to my own list in my yearly journal. A couple of my things are to start a spiritual book club, sound healing, fix the bed of my truck, publish a journal, start by podcast, pick thimbleberries, make peanut butter balls, see my friend, clean out bins in my basement and read 24 books. I did a very small list last year and now that I'm looking at it I didn't do any of the things I put on it :( I think part of my problem is that I didn't look at it again so I have added "update list in March, June, Sept. & Dec." I'm also going to set calendar reminders so that I will remember to look at the list. I'm struggling with deciding if I want to put my lengthy house projects list on here or keep it separate. On the one hand it would be nice to have on here, but on the other I do like having all the house projects together.

It’s a bit arbitrary, but normally the things that end up on the 101 things list are the ones that are either going to be fun, or feel like more of an accomplishment 😛 I also check in with the 101 things list more, so if I have more of a push to do that item, it’ll go on the 101 things list rather than the future me problems 💜 sometimes items from the future me problems list “graduate” to the 101 things though!
